Colors of Spanish has been providing Spanish language programs for toddlers, children of all ages, and adults in Northern California since 2004. Guadalupe Tausch, who leads the Colors of Spanish team, was born and raised in Mexico and has a Master's Degree in Spanish. Through language education, music, stories, and cultural exchange we work to unite Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities. Studies show there are tremendous benefits to learning a second language. Music is a fantastic way for children to learn Spanish as it stimulates memory, improves pronunciation, and it's fun!...so kids are more likely to want to repeat lyrics over and over which is a key element to learning and retaining a second language. Colors of Spanish provee español a niños de edad temprana en el norte de California desde el 2004. Guadalupe Tausch, fundadora y líder del equipo, nació y creció en México. Obtuvo su licenciatura de negocios en su país y más tarde en California una maestría en español con énfasis en adquisición de español como segunda lengua desde la edad temprana. A través de la educación del lenguaje e incorporando un currículo único a prescolares, bibliotecas, museos, escuelas, docentes, familias bilingües o multilingües, el equipo de COS funge como un puente entre la comunidad de habla hispana y la comunidad de habla inglesa.
Estudios demuestran que hay un tremendo beneficio de aprender un segundo idioma en la edad temprana a través del juego, cuentos, música y movimiento entre otros. Estos componentes en combinación; tienen una forma fantástica de estimular la memoria, mejorar la pronunciación, mover el cuerpo, repetir liricas, conectar vocabulario con acciones, aprender el idioma en contexto, estimular la audición y el lenguaje, motivar, identificar secuencias y reconocer diversidad de culturas. Y esto solo por mencionar algunas de las herramientas necesarias para aprender, asimilar, conectar, familiarizar y retener un segundo idioma; además de ser divertido!
