this is the best version i have heard so far... wow. this is so amazing.. and those sustaining the high notes, woww, i cant even hear where they breathed. and it was on tune. wowww. thats all i can say. woww... and they're kids :))))))
This is absolutely incredible! Creepy... and that's EXACTLY what it's written to sound like. Many have no idea how difficult it is to pull off a piece like this! Especially when it's young kids. Bravo!
WOW!!!! These kids are the best I've seen performing this work. Their conductor is a GENIUS when in comes to DYNAMICS and creativity. I think the tempo that he chose really work. Most conductors tend to take this work TOO FAST!
This is an amazing performance! Quite original piece also! You must have had success with that one at the competition. Congratulations to all of you! I've looked at your other posts as well. Great choir!
wow this is amazing. Absolutely different from the sounds were used to hearing. It really throws you off in a disturbing but not altogether unpleasant way. Ive meber heard anything like this, it is unique.
Wow. My choir is doing this song at our concert. Not only does this choir kick our butts (we're a college choir xD), but it's a very different take. I quite like it! PS-Holy crap on some of those high notes!
Found this in the bottom of my favorites playlist- I’ve just seen the composer listed in the comments, but I would’ve thought it was R. Murray Schafer had I not known better- filled with tons of hallmarks of his compositions, the speaking, the aleatory, the slides into chords, and the fact that it’s a children choir, which he often wrote his graphic notation choral pieces for! I sense some inspiration here at the very least 😉
Kids worldwide are easily capable of singing fairly difficult pieces. Maybe not this difficult. However in America they seem to think that their only capabilities are Yankee Doodle Dandy until the hit puberty. Sad sad sad.
my choir has to sing this song.....and when we rehearse it, it scares me and makes me think, HOLY CRAP THIS SONG IS AWESOME. it really does take a lot of time to prepare and practice and i think im very fortunate to be able to preform such an exciting piece. really i am. and i cant wait for the parents to hear it. its very new and something completely different for my choir so everyones really exciting too. this choir did a great job! i hope we can too.
I remember singing this song with international choirs. It's probably one of the funniest and hardest songs I've ever sung. I had a great time singing this.

OH. MY. GOSH. THAT. WAS. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. AMAZING. the end.
The score is demented. There are lines and boxes of words scattered throughout it. Quite strange really. We once did this for our choir but I don't have the score left (sorry!).
Wait, what!? These kids are brilliantly talented. They sound creepy as hell, but the amount of skill that goes into this is mindblowing. Perhaps it's people who can't appreciate talent and musical prowess that should "get a life"?
We sang this at All State last year and it was so amazing...I think it sounded better than this because we had about five times as many girls singing it. And then at then at the end the director had us suddenly drop our heads which totally creeped out the audience. It was soo exciting.
You aren't from Burnside High School in Christchurch, New Zealand, by any chance? This was a SUPERB performance and this choir deserved to take the premier award at the national competition. Video can be found on the site r2.co.nz; under "Video"; "2012"; "The Big Sing"; and scroll down till you find "Aglepta", performed by the Bel Canto Choir from Burnside High School. I wish it was possible to post a direct link.
10 people were scared shitless. This is a truly amazing musical piece and their performance is one of the best I've heard. Amazing!
my sister sung this for a choir concert at her high school recently
needless to say my very christian grandparents were damn near a panic attack
Love it, what a funny story 😁
👿 🤘
this is the best version i have heard so far... wow. this is so amazing..
and those sustaining the high notes, woww, i cant even hear where they breathed. and it was on tune. wowww. thats all i can say. woww...

They sound like they're possessed. And they look like it too.
Racist
So this is the choir who defeated the Philippine Madrigal Singers in 2017...Amazing musicality and freaky difficulty level. Congrats

On top it says 2007.
This is absolutely incredible! Creepy... and that's EXACTLY what it's written to sound like. Many have no idea how difficult it is to pull off a piece like this! Especially when it's young kids. Bravo!
Wow... the memories overwhelm me when I listen to this song. My own choir performed Aglepta years ago. These girls did a phenomenal job! Bravo!!!
It's composed by a Swedish composer, Arne Mellnäs.
Wow, this is soooooooo scary, I can't believe they actually perform this.
Indeed, one of the best renditions of this piece on UA-cam! Congratulations!
Amazing! These girls aren't even that old! The talent here is fantastic, impressed by the conductors take on it as well! absolutely stunning!
They won 2017 European Grand Prix with this song on the program 😲

The blonde girl freaked me out 😂

Very mystical. Really reminds me of Enya. Congratulations for this wonderful performance. :)
WOW!!!! These kids are the best I've seen performing this work. Their conductor is a GENIUS when in comes to DYNAMICS and creativity. I think the tempo that he chose really work. Most conductors tend to take this work TOO FAST!
Sounds like a soundtrack to a horror movie.Beautiful!
Well done! I love this piece!
I LOVE THIS!!!
This is what a massive ship stumbling into a hidden civilization of sirens would sound like.
Bravissime. Ammirevoli... anche per la pazienza di imparare questa stranezza...

Awesome, great job. You're doing well.
wew. this was performed once in a chorus party and it spooked the heck out of my friends because the laughter is more like a spooky cackling ewe
Beautifully creating nightmares. Well done.
When the video buffered, I thought I was going to die.
BEAUTIFUL SINGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember singing this song with international choirs. It's probably one of the funniest and hardest songs I've ever sung. I had a great time singing this.

I think this sounds more amazing when it is played backwards.
What the heck... I think I'm gonna have nightmares! I mean it's pretty amazing but totally freaky... I wouldn't be able to sing something like this...
WOW... its very hard to produce a sound like that! hands up to the children's choir and to its conductor and teacher

NO LIMITATION OF WHAT YOUNG SOULS COULD DO.
ONLY THEIR OWN DISTORTED IMAGE LOOKING BACK FROM THE MIRROR ,PUTTING A FACE ON EVERY MORNING ,WILL .DAMPEN THEIR FIRE. STOP BEING IMAGE DRIVEN, BE A SOUL DRIVEN ENTITY .
They look and sound like they're possessed.

haunting! these kids show why they are former GPE champs.
Doing this for our girls choir at school! it is amazingly frightening, and terribly hard to learn!
The score is demented. There are lines and boxes of words scattered throughout it. Quite strange really. We once did this for our choir but I don't have the score left (sorry!).
thats awesome
Wait, what!? These kids are brilliantly talented. They sound creepy as hell, but the amount of skill that goes into this is mindblowing. Perhaps it's people who can't appreciate talent and musical prowess that should "get a life"?
THIS STUFF SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!!!!
Magnífico. ENHORABUENA
Damn, that's creepy!
omg my choir was almost gonna sing this. im glad we arent. i peed
this song is supposed to imitate a voice of ghosts and these words mean a curse that was used in the the 16th century to stop your enemy from moving.
this is just way to creepy and chilling to even listen to further, grotesque!
wow. hard song to sing. the girls do a great job.
bellissimo
👏 👏
We r singing this too!!
im sad..although i haven't met him still i'm a great fan of him.
THEY SOUND POSSESSED!

@Masterpieceman16 I was thinking the exact same thing!
There is a Venezuelan Children Choir who sing this song, it is very difficult
Wow, that was so delightfully weird!
damn their creepy voices had me turning my light on every night and got me scared for a straight week hahah.
Can anyone find a recording of this wonderful gut wrenching song???
Este es uno de los mejores agleptas que he escuchado. El mejor después de una interpretación de Tapiola en los años 80s. ¿De dónde es este coro?

maybe that's the reason why they didn't nail it on that year of the competition
I'ma make music using this 🎵😂
