And even if she wasn't she should still be able to talk about sex and masturbation without getting weird comments lmao. It's a completely natural thing and she's a grown ass woman, she can do what she likes.
This lady is a breath of fresh air,she approaches subjects that other people won't go near and she does it so casually without any embarrasment, she explains things so clearly and precisely the way things should be,there are people who don't want to know about such things and that's fine but there are other people who think they are weird because nobody talks about these things openly, everybody is different and have different desires and fantasies but they shouldn't be pilloried for that,Good on you Doctor.
I am a physically handicapped man who is very sexually curious(and frustrated lol), but I have little experience because of my disability issues. It did my heart good to hear you give "us" a mention. Thank you!!! :-)
+Rathdrgnknight depends if you can do it in a way that would keep lower priced sex toy options available for people that aren't able to afford dropping hundreds of dollars on their first time venture into sex toys. this shouldn't be a law which is pushed through because of sexual shame and stigma, but it should be pushed through to empower sexual health and well-being. it's also difficult to say what is and isn't body unsafe, as very few materials are equally safe. there are many porous soft rubber toys which are not inherently bleeding toxins and are effectively hypoallergenic materials; if they are not combined with latex. (which should not blanket banned in the same laws that should target PVC plastics for their phthalates; which many people have bad reactions. ) they are simply harder to clean than silicone. 100% silicone isn't porous, but it damages with silicone lubricant and becomes less body safe. silicone also has two varieties: one where it is normally made with tin. tin-grade silicone is usually labeld as simply "silicone" and is the cheaper variety of silicone, and another variety more expensive premium quality/medical grade/platinum grade silicone which is instead made with platinum so it's inherently anti-bacterial and much more "body safe" even they are both "100% silicone" just one is subjectively superfluously better for your body while the other is subjectively harmful for your body. there isn't really a hard line of "this good" and "this bad" since everything has it's pros and cons, and those cons are subjective to the consumers. in a weird sense, the less body safe materials are cheaper because they are for a smaller market. too pourous and too difficult to clean for you? get something less porous. does this material give you a negative reaction? get a material that doesn't give you a negative reaction. have an allergy to nickel plated necklaces? just don't use nickel plated necklaces.
+Sc4r4byte Relating to your mention of inexpensive sex toys - Dangerous Lily has a whole list of safe toys under $35: dangerouslilly.com/2015/06/35-body-safe-sex-toys-under-35/
Yes, but it probably shouldn't be surprising. Supplements are also nearly completely unregulated, keep that in mind next time somebody suggests an herbal remedy. That's not to say that it won't work or that it's not safe, just that there's no government agency that's tasked with ensuring the safety and efficacy of supplements.
I had no idea that these things weren't regulated 0.0 That needs to change. I get that there's a bit of a taboo attached to these sorts of things, but it's *far, far* worse to have them out-of-sight and potentially dangerous, then to have them be regulated and standardized at the cost of making some people uncomfortable.
SEX . . . A HISTORY Sad but true. It's unlikely that anything _will_ change regarding regulation and standardization (at least in the foreseeable future). I feel it goes without saying, but when it comes to sex-related topics, the proverbial law-makers can be frustratingly conservative and cautious. Regardless, I see it as a case of "one step at a time", and perhaps one day the humble and quirky _sex toy industry_ will become properly regulated.
This was wonderful and felt very inclusive (to me, I hope others feel similarly). I loved the comment about listening to how your body responds, and the very casual "that's cool too." As someone whose body is more often "get that away from me" rather than "yes please more," I like being able to watch these kinds of videos knowing that I can be included and validated.
This is fantastic, and i love this channel. It's just welcoming and open discusion of sex, something that is always hush hush and pushed to the side. It's frankly quite relaxing to hear someone talking about it like it's normal and not a bad thing.
Okay, so, I love your channel! But I got a notification about a video from another subscription I have, since it was nail art, I didn't care to play it during a family reunion where everyone was quiet. I don't know what happened, but instead of nail art, this video started playing out loud in front of my whole family without a warning... I thought about going to my bedroom, but they would think I'm doing some kinky stuff, so here I am, laughing on the inside while everyone awkwardly stares at me hahaha
It's funny, because now almost all locomotives use electric motors (either with electricity supplied elsewhere, or generated on-board with diesel engines). It looks like trains caught up to sex toys!
I've made it through about 5 video's so far and I've come to the conclusion that you would be awesome (and informative) to hang out with. Keep up the good work.
woohoo, a discount! No more excuses, I need to update my stash. I know you took your time deciding whether to do the sponsored videos, and I think you did it really well. a LOT of education about various material issues, and how to find more. I knew you could do it!
Dr. Doe, have you read Oh Joy Sex Toy? It's a great sex toy (and other related topics) review comic that I have been reading for about as long as they have been running it.
I love this channel. It teaches about sex and things that have to do with sex while giving information and having fun with it. It isn't so serious like other channels that makes me feel like I'm operating on someone. +1 sub!
On body safety, it's worth noting that 3D printed parts are not body safe even if the material is, because they have small gaps on the layer lines where pathogens can linger. Options to make body safe toys with a 3D printer are smoothing or using them as mold for a silicone toy (@Amavidi has useful advice on that topic).
I kinda just glanced at the list of unsafe materials and swore I saw santa flesh before I went back and paused that part. Kinda glad we can still use santa flesh as he's my big Daddy
Kalliste I hate vibration too, and always wondered what the heck is wrong with me...watching this video tells me there’s NOTHING wrong with me, it’s just one of many normal ways to experience and enjoy sex. Thank you, this channel! (Sorry, don’t remember the name and if I navigate out of this window it asks if I want to discard the text)
Adam and Eve isn't exactly a great source for the kind of body-safe products you mention, but I'm sure you already know that. At the end of the day, I get that bills have to be paid, and it is cool of them to support a video like this, even if it doesn't necessarily seem to line up with their actual product offerings. Keep the A+ content coming, Dr. Doe! :)
In my Family therapy class (learning how to be a marriage and family therapy) we were learning about how to discuss sex with couples and whether or not they are having sex related problems. We had a guest speaker come in (from The Smitten Kitten in Minneapolis) and he actually told us all about the chemicals in the toys. He had this giant jar of sex toys that had the bad chemicals in them, and had been in the jar for years. (The jar was sealed.) Half of the toys were melted and unrecognizable blobs. Others had started to bubble and looked visibly toxic. And they had done nothing but put the toys in this glass jar and sealed it. They use is as a teaching thing to show how the toys eventually start to break down because of the chemicals. It was definitely an eye opener. I went home and looked up all my toys to check for it. Only threw one away. Now I'm hyper vigilant about checking for the materials used.
you should do a video about physical differences between peoples bodies and about the surgeries people have to change the way they look, especially ones just for looks. i just watched a doco about a girl who had a labiaplasty (is that what its called?) because she was made fun of, and heard an alarming statistic of the increase in cosmetic surgery people are getting to make themselves fit in and be "normal"
+De Jahne Sanders They supported a sex education video that teaches about sexual health concerns for sex toys and suggests solutions for wise shopping.
sexplanations I don't know, that's what you just said. "they supported a sex education video", does that mean they paid money to someone etc? Whom did they pay? what video?
I cannot overstate it enough how important it is that wood be properly sealed. Wood is porous, meaning that without some sort of a sealant on it, any bacteria that get in there are impossible to remove. This is also why it's a bad idea to have wooden spoons for cooking.
I'm so grateful to have a local sex-positive adult store which sells both educational materials and toys. I was really nervous when I first went in but it was nothing like the seedy, low-quality places you see in the movies. I had no idea about body safe materials and they explained it to me and told me all about what their products were made of. I think it's shocking and terrible that sex toys aren't regulated at all. People are going to buy them whether there's regulation or not, so why not keep everyone safe? Thanks for another great video, Dr. Doe!
Old video, but would like to point out that "dakimakura" does not mean "inflatable love pillow, it means "hugging/holding pillow" combining "daki", hug or hold, and "makura", pillow. In the west, we just call them body pillows. Just be careful with the image searches, there are a lot of NSFW pillowcases for these things.
Store all your toys safely guys. An easy and quick way is putting them all in individual socks. There ain't nothin' worse than discovering your favourite toy is an unusable deformed mess when you _really_ need it.
+milliehutchings Toys only get deformed if they're made from a porous, unstable material like jelly or TPR. Stick with pure silicone or one of the other body safe options listed in the video and you can pile them all over each other without any issues.

+Erika Lynae I remember hearing a review about a dildo (buying one for a friend and since I don't know anything about dildos I thought user reviews were the way to go) and remember reading someone mention that they had 2 silicone dildos fuse together.
Just a side note, one of the toys you featured when mentioning nipple pumps, while has a pumping function, is not the intention of it. The picture is a pair of two purple pumps with short plastic tubes that have black rings near the base. The purpose of this item is to secure a ring around the base of the nipple to restrict blood flow (think cock ring for nipples). The pump is only used long enough to get the nipple stretched a bit then the black ring is slid down the tube and around the nipple. They're fun =3
Doctor Doe, I can't explain why I'm feeling so happy. Maybe it's the video (it is), but maybe because it's also 3 am. I love this two in conjunction, because it's makes me feel happily special xD
I dunno if you've heard of it but definitely check out the webcomic oh joy sex toy! They review sex toys and provide other educational sex-related content in comic form.
Hey Dr. Doe, sorry to be pedantic, but you mispronounced Epiphora. It's just I'm a big fan of her writing. From her FAQ: "I pronounce it eh-PIF-er-uh [...] Several outsiders have incorrectly pronounced it ep-i-FOR-a, with an emphasis on the FOR."
You know what? There's a limit to my curiosity. It's where someone starts tracking my browser history and not wanting to know what the hell I've been up to. Also, I've been in corporate meetings where discussions of sex toys included supply chain costs, shipping to suppliers, and quarterly financial reports. Nothing takes away your interest in a subject quite like the mind-numbingly boring parts of their manufacture (it's just a regular motor, guys) and sale. I...I think I'm happier in arms sales. The software is more interesting.
+theslinkymaniaa Their free gifts aren't really that great usually. I got a gift card for $50 worth of wine from a website...but only if you spent over $150... It was more like a Buy $150 get $50 off.
This content is age restricted. Ugh. At least I only have 4 month to go until I’m apparently magically ready to watch videos like this As if I wasn’t before.
How can you not love dr doe's enthusiasm in this video Hahahaha. Honestly though, this is great especially for people who don't know about all this stuff. :-)
I would be very interested in buying a sex toy. But I am conscious of the price and the fact that I still live with my parents. What would you suggest I do?
You can buy a box with a lock on it to hide your sextoy, that´s what I was doing when I was living with my parents. If they ask questions, tell them that it´s your privacy and there is nothing illegal or dangerous in there. The tricky thing is to use and clean it safely. For the money question, I have no other suggestion but to save until you can afford it. It´s cheaper online with discounts and promo codes, these companies are generally discrete when shipping/billing those things, using a "generic name" on the box and the credit card transaction, I did it when living with my parents, it´s easier that it seems!!
+LoneWolf7567 Well, I waited until they were gone to clean it well with ph balanced soap and water (If you're a guy then normal soap will do the job). I keep intimate wipes in my bedside table just in case too.
+Adeliade Pluviou I think that the whole Sexplanations' series is a response to this request. Can I make a video about hiding sex toys? Don't hide them. No shame.
+sexplanations Some people like to keep intimacy and privacy in their sex lives, including the toys they may or may not have. I wouldn't want guests or my future kids to see me have sex or what I do during. Mind you, I feel no shame whatsoever and am very open about it all. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Very educational:) Learning so much lol I have to study some more because there's so many things to know, especially keeping things safe and clean. That's critical when it come to play time.
+OnlineNamesAreStrange What makes it seem that way? It *can* be harmful if you don't take care, but done correctly, it feels great. That's why people do it.

When ur 13 and watching Cs:go at 10pm, then find urself looking at *this* at 3am..
This made me realise how kinky I really am
Just a side note, one of the toys you featured when mentioning nipple pumps, while has a pumping function, is not the intention of it. The picture is a pair of two purple pumps with short plastic tubes that have black rings near the base. The purpose of this item is to secure a ring around the base of the nipple to restrict blood flow (think cock ring for nipples). The pump is only used long enough to get the nipple stretched a bit then the black ring is slid down the tube and around the nipple. They're fun =3
I want to be you when I grow up. Please keep doing what you're doing.
Hi
Doctor Doe, I can't explain why I'm feeling so happy. Maybe it's the video (it is), but maybe because it's also 3 am.
I love this two in conjunction, because it's makes me feel happily special xD
again how did i get here
Matt g by either clicking or letting auto-play go.
Matt g leafy
Direct Google search most likely
I dunno if you've heard of it but definitely check out the webcomic oh joy sex toy! They review sex toys and provide other educational sex-related content in comic form.

Cool! I'll make sure to check those out~
Well, actually, most trains are driven by electricity… :)
The Walrus She’s talking about the trains from the 1800s dumbass
Glass toys all the way. Easiest to clean, can freeze them for a thrill or heat them for a warming feeling.
+Jennifer Armstrong Oh! This makes me happy for the kindness of your correction and sad for my error. I will do better next time.
hi vsauce,michael here.
we don't want to get behind... or do we? *music starts"
The software is more interesting.
this shit is literally better than porn. having older woman explaining toys with entusiasm and with glee
You're amazing, Lindsey. Seriously.
I want your channel every single day
Ordered my first vibrator! Woohoo! Plus it comes with a free gift worth $50 when you spend over $17! Merry Christmas to me! ;D
Wonderful to see someone who will teach the curious. I'd love to live next door just to talk about what's new???
Want a sleeve but living at home makes things a bit hard. 0 privacy :/
+Gustavo Mendez Yeah... elitedaily.com/humor/woman-finds-sons-toy-internet-explodes/1301595/
+sexplanations Yeah.... I will wait until I get a place of my own. College debt ftw.
sexplanations
i would like to see you use them
She seems like Hank and John Greens lost edgy sister.
How can you not love dr doe's enthusiasm in this video Hahahaha. Honestly though, this is great especially for people who don't know about all this stuff. :-)
I thought I was done shopping...NOPE!!
Give me a Call when your done! 😉😂
JosephTheFirst1 lol
I like your channel, because you are clean and not sleezie looking. You are also funny to listen to. 😂
+Dailyteacup how did you solve the cleaning problem?
+LoneWolf7567 Well, I waited until they were gone to clean it well with ph balanced soap and water (If you're a guy then normal soap will do the job). I keep intimate wipes in my bedside table just in case too.
+Dailyteacup Thanks for your help. I am a guy and was thinking of getting a sleeve type thing.
I have the same problem.
Sexologist here in Ohio! Thank you for all these videos! You are terrific!
lol I'm on view 69, how ironic considering the video
+Lavvender not ironic, coincidental.
+tomysamoa thanks, I couldn't think of the right word but all that came to mind was irony
This channel is SO DANG UNDERRATED, ZOIKSSSSSSS!
Can you make a video on hiding sex toys?
+Adeliade Pluviou I think that the whole Sexplanations' series is a response to this request. Can I make a video about hiding sex toys? Don't hide them. No shame.
+sexplanations Some people like to keep intimacy and privacy in their sex lives, including the toys they may or may not have. I wouldn't want guests or my future kids to see me have sex or what I do during. Mind you, I feel no shame whatsoever and am very open about it all. I'm sure you know what I mean.
+Adeliade Pluviou I could think of a couple of places.
Very educational:) Learning so much lol I have to study some more because there's so many things to know, especially keeping things safe and clean. That's critical when it come to play time.
Omg, Lindsy u are my idol.
amazing and entertaining and hilarious and well edited! wow well done!
Can you do a video on men inserting things into their urethra? It seems really painful and harmful, so I don't know why they do that.
+OnlineNamesAreStrange What makes it seem that way? It *can* be harmful if you don't take care, but done correctly, it feels great. That's why people do it.
xVancha
Yea, idk...it just...seems painful. I thought people just do it because they get pleasure out of feeling pain so yea...
Doesn't it defeat the point that this video is age restricted?
I’m nine years old and I have to say “WHAT JUST HAPPEN ED!”😐
