At 8:44 Luke says to use the long screws at the front and the short screws at the back. I got my kit from Monkee Mods, so it is a little different, and putting the longer screws at the front caused me to not be able to prime the blaster, I swapped them for the shorter screws and used to longer screws to secure the pusher mechanism to the arms at the back. Just a heads up if someone is using this guide with a kit from another supplier 👍
Thanks so much for doing this video.. I've been wanting to take my Fire Rat apart but I didn't want to ruin it.. Thanks now I can do my spring upgrade!
I found with the long screws in the front I could not prime the blaster. Wouldn’t pull back more than a cm or two. Without the screws in it worked fine so I switched them around.
Good tip using lube as an adhesive! Clear and great guide! Curious what performance you’ve been able to get and if you’ve had any “slam fire” issues with the catches.
I live in Europe, so I got mine through Monkey Mods, so it might differ: Mine came in one package. The decorative screws on top of the plunger tube came already assembled. That leaves you with two short flat head screws and two slightly longer counter sunk screws. The latter are of course for the priming block. But since I was following the instructions I used "the longer" screws on the front end. Resulting in the blaster being unable to prime. Also these two "latches" on the priming block needed assembly as well. I found it much easier to hold down the trigger with my index finger from the back of the blaster, while sliding in the plunger tube/slide assembly. Thanks for the instructions though! It was a great help!
Been using plumber's grease to lubricate plastic but it's expensive, viscous, & doesn't react well with sweat. The can of superlube shown is synthetic grease NLGI 2 model 41160. Superlube has a number of different sizes on their website.
Yeah, I screwed up one of the trigger springs for one of my two Fire Rats when I first tried assemble the thing. The second one has a hiccup but it works. Edit: I got the Orange Translucent and Lime Green Fire Rats from Monkee Mods. The orange one is the one I screwed up but I noticed it didn't come with the ring for the plunger tube so I decide to swap the Lime Green slide with the Orange slide (just to be creative) so I got the Lime Green with an Orange slide and magazine.
man the assembly process actually makes me want one more; i love a project. its still a little too real steel for me, though. im hoping some printable cosmetics come out that might make this viable in a public setting. till then ill just have to keep saving for a mk 2.1
Great tip on the nightingale mags. I have a bunch of mags for my Firerat, i wonder if you could modify them to fit in the nightingale? Definitely getting a nightingale pro in the near future
While Nightingale mags can be modded to fit and function in a Fire Rat, unfortunately, it doesn't work the other way around. Would have been nice though with that weighted bumper for nice gravity drops!
We are currently only carrying the clear and orange color variant. To our knowledge, though, the version Monkee Mods sells functions and performs similarly if not the same.
would i be able to remove the priming part release whilst not damaging the product?, i dont really like how it feels to have to pinch while pulling it back
Hi! Yes, you should be able to remove the clamps without damaging the blaster. However, you may need to ensure that the prime is seated forward before firing, as the clamps usually help make a better seal on the barrel.

little tip i learned while reassembling mine is that its way easier to put the trigger first then setting the springs in between with a tweezer

oh my god thank you so much
I made this mistake and have been confused for the past two days after realizing I came back to the video just to see your comment 🤦♂️

Great guide. I'm not into hobby grade blasters for a few different reasons but this looks fun to build and affordable.
Awesome video! Excellent tip about the worker mags

how'd you assemble the latches on the priming part? i never put mine on because i wasn't sure how to
Can't wait to build mine! This blaster is awesome!!

Nice job!
I love the irony of using super lube to hold something jn place
Nice video!

I would love to print my own fire rat 🥲🥲

What did you use to put the extra hole into the nightingale mags? Dremmel and file?
Yep! Sharpie to mark it, Dremmel for the cut, and a file to clean up the edges.
Great video as always Luke :)
Do you know if the nightingale mags can be modified to fit the S200s viper?
I *believe* so, but we haven't tested this thoroughly ourselves.
You do not need the spring in the slide lock for it to work.
Will there be more color options? And how different is this from the monkeemods version?

I assembled mine but I can`t cock the gun, it stuck half way :( I'll have to try again..
Do you guys sell an upgrade spring ?
While we don't have one right this moment, we are planning on carrying an upgrade spring in the near future!
Zinc 2.0 assembly vid?
is there any chance that you will also be selling the Fire Rat mags?
if not thats all right just curious, one way or another ill be getting one
We are currently looking at stocking separate Fire Rat Mags! Stay tuned to our shop for updates!
