The NCT songs I had to listen to about 5 times before deciding they were pretty good/fun were both 127 songs, Firetruck and Cherry Bomb. I basically liked or loved all NCT's other songs including b-sides with one or two listens. Limitless and Kick It were two songs that I immediately about 30 seconds into the first listen absolutely loved, with Punch taking a little longer--a full run through of the first verse and the chorus--before deciding I loved it. I was speechless and hypnotized listening to 7th Sense and it wasn't until I finished the song and it released me from its hold that I realized it was really damn cool and made me want to hear more of their music, and I was blown away by the vocals in Without You. This was all within the last 6 months, so I am a pretty new NCTzen, but I've also been an ELF, Shawol, and EXO-L for years and I also considered myself an f(x) fan years before they ever were able to give us a name (MeU) in 2016. Thus, I know what it's like to be a multi-SM-artist-stan.
You are totally right, by suger coated taste they mean the typical music induatry, genre and kpop song that k netizens fight over, and by dish they mean their song, NCT's music, they are telling you've only got the essence of our style and genre so pick up our dish(music) and taste it. It's pretty amazing, I've been loving NCT's recent lyrics where they attack haters and call new listeners by saying stuff like ' we know we are different, even if all people hate us we are gonna keep on doing it, we will show you and introduce you to new things, we already fought this long, now that we are in the right track, the fight is gonna get more intense' by these I mean Kick It, Punch, Ridin, Regular, Simon Says, Boom and absolutely Resonance! *they are too cool I'm screaming*
Their Bsides are a lot more digestible and they've done performances for them just yesterday you can find it on their nct dream yt page but for title tracks you either love it from the beginning or it grows
This is their first full-length album and also their first comeback with Mark(after 2.5 years) so they put a lot of effort into it. I hope you can check out the whole album because all songs are so good.
