Also you don’t realize how young Frankie was when he died. He lived a full life before 25!
One of my favorite lines in that movie is, Zola Taylor, "Im a class act". Whole time she was acting a fool!! LOL
"Frankie didn't have no open shirt. Frankie was a class act. You're trying to make him out to be some kind of whore like you." That was my favorite line. That one and "He dropped you like a whore's panties." 🤣
I quote “With your country apple ass” to this day. Love this movie. Lol.
The dining scene with Vivica and Halle is always a hoot!!
“Brougham!”
I’m going to 10-11 years strong wit you and I am LOVIN !!! The new series. Stay who you are girl and I love you so much ❤❤❤❤
Frankie Lymonnnnn 😂😂😂😂 when he had Vivica in Halle’s pool down to her house 😂😂😂😂 hollering so damn good
“I remember Miss Thang being at my house, but she was the one acting like a banjee, not me.”
You can’t tell me Lorenz ain’t Mr Frankie Lemon!!!! I love this movie!!
"BABAY, Morris aint even use no vaseline"
*Courtroom gasps*
"SHUT UP!"😭😭😭
Halle Berry is one of my all time favorite actresses! I remember watching this movie with my mom as a kid! Memories 😁
I loooovvvee this movie! The way Vivica hit that cigarette in the courthouse cafeteria was everything🤩. That whole scene was perfection despite only having a few lines of dialogue.
The court room scenes were sooooo funny 😂😂😂😂 I forgot she said his feet got cut off 😂😂😂 I am screaming and then little Richard 😂😂😂
I just watched on Tubi. This was my movie as a child. They wanted to keep it funny but Frankie and viv character had a child together. U not lying it was underrated
Not Mexico was city hall back then 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Ashley 😂😂
One of favorite movies EVER I done seen this movie over 100 times 😂😂😂
The scene when the dog was thrown out the window dude literally went from Frankie lymon to o'dog in a split second and that was too funny
Michael Jackson and The Ronettes and The Supremes and countless other black celebrities who were kids and teenagers at the time were heavily inspired and influenced by Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers. Also his wife got his royalties and successfully sued given the fact that he was a minor at the time he was 13 years old when he became famous so it had grounds to sue given that information. He was 25 years old when he died.
This is one of my favorite movies. The movie was hilarious. Classic
So I remembered watching this movie with my mom when it was on tv at some random point and I believe that was the first movie I saw with Larenz Tate in it and I was like “who is that??” Because I thought he was one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen on tv 😂😂😂
This is such a wonderful movie! Halle Berry, Vivica A. Fox, and Little Richard were so funny in it. Frankie Lymon was very young to have gone through all that and die really early. Young Black singers and musicians went through a whole lot, no adult supervision, stealing their songs and money, being discarded when they couldn't be used anymore all while having to deal with racism back then at 13-20s. Maybe groups don't do well today, because artists and record companies are more interested in being and going solo than actually supporting and promoting music groups and taking the time to develop and help them grow while supporting them. Companies are more concerned about the fastest way to possibly make money and don't market groups well anymore. He really didn't have to take out Elizabeth's dog and steal all of Zola's money as he destroyed her house like that. I really wish he was able to get help. Children and young adults definitely need adult supervision and someone who truly cares about them and their well-being with them when going into the music industry or film industry. Thank you so very much for doing these movie reviews!
Yes this movie is one of my favorites and I LOVED the soundtrack as well. I remember playing that CD constantly
Frankie Lymon's life was way more tragic than what the movie depicted. It's long overdue for an more accurate Frankie Lymon biopic. This movie making 12.46 million in the box office was good because the budget was 7.5 million. It wasn't an independent movie. Why Do Fools Fall in Love was under Warner Bros Pictures. Gregory Nava, who did Selena, directed this movie.
Frankie and Elizabeth Waters had a daughter named Francine who died two days after birth. It wasn't depicted in the movie. In the movie, it was mention of Elizabeth having a daughter, but not by Frankie.
Frankie Lymon was introduced to heroin by an older woman who he was messing with when he was 15. He said this in Ebony Magazine in 1967.
Larenz Tate was 25 when he did this movie.
One of my favorite movies! The acting was excellent!
His actual story is so sad, they said he started on drugs at 12 was introduced to it by a prostitute smh
Like who is having intercourse w a 12 yr old boy?what was going on back then.
I just watched this Vivica and Halle was hilarious!😂 But what's puzzling to me Franky Lymon was 14 they say when he blew up. So I'm like how was he dealing with all these grown women??
Love this movie! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
This movie was definitely interesting and sad . I met Larenz Tate around Scream Tour b2k days in DC . He looked great and smelled so good. Speaking of Halle Berry Losing Isaiah was one of my favorite 90s movie from her. I love Movie Corner!
I just ❤️ Movie Corner Ash!!!
And when you mentioned Black Femininity I was like no waaaay bc I watched a lot of content there a few weeks ago!!
Have a great week!! ❤️
This one of my favorite movies
Man Lorenz Tate was phenomenal in this movie I use to hate him growing up that’s how good he played Frankie Lymon. Now that I’m a young adult this movie is just pure comedy to me because I never understood how these women got played by Franky so easily and not hold him accountable for his actions for majority of the movie. 😂
This was one of my favorites!!
I was just thinking about this movie the other day. It needs a documentary/docu-series.
When he threw the dog off the roof 😂😂😂😂😂
Are you serious? That’s was so traumatic and sad not funny at all.
One of my favorites
Hey Ashley, about your question on why we don’t have groups anymore- I’ve heard those in the industry is that it’s too many personalities, too many checks and if they’re minors - too many parents. They believe it’s just easier to manage one person. I agree though, groups should def be a thing. Even if they do eventually split, it’s a good way to build an audience and grow and as an artist.

June's Diary is one of my fave groups (En Vogue being the #1), and to hear that the labels simply don't want to pay expenses 🤦🏾♀️ Seeing how they did En Vogue; literally divide and conquer. Making broken promises. It's a money game.
Ashleyyyyy I’ve been watching this movie again lately this video came just in time omg thanks
I love this movie! You should do New Edition Movie and the Bobby Brown story!
It's crazy you did a movie corner for this movie cause I was just thinking about this movie the other day.
this is my absolute favorite movie ❤️ i started to watch it the other day and didn’t get too far but my heart told me to watch it! this is why you be obedient because i coulda had my refresh of the movie before you dropped this! ugh 🥰❤️‼️
I’ve never seen this film, but I love Frankie Lymon and his story was sooo fascinating
Love and basketball next please cause let’s talk about how Quincy played in her faceeeee
Remember he stole Zola’s mink coat from her apartment and gave it to Elizabeth.
And then had to give it to the drug dealer to save Frankie's life 🤦🏾♀️
Love this movie!!
This movie is a classic
love this film
June's Diary had the juice on PAPER but there was a disconnect in the music. They had ONE bop bop on their EP, "Good Time" it showed their voices and was upbeat. The rest was...aight. Honestly I always thought Dawn (of Danity Kane) could have wrote them a HIT, she knows her to craft that girl group Pop&B with layers perfectly.
This was my movie. ❤
SCREAMING lol she said no flava at all!!!
More biopic reviews please Jackson’s the American Dream, Tina Turner, and Temptation’s.
Watched today on Tubi❤❤😂
One of my top 10 in movies😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like Black Feminity as well and Empressive
Ashley 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣you have me in tears
Good movie, like someone said funny parts of the movie great actors larenz Tate is good looking especially now the older he gets
Yea this movie was very traumatic for me as a kid I was 10 especially when he dropped the dog. Disgusting and sad.
Ashley can you please do poetic justice. I just really realized how all over the place it is 😅
Him lip syncing his child voice as a grown man happened in real life. It makes NO sense his adult voice was amazing!!!
Agree, Halle and Vivica are standout, but every1 put both feets into their roles.
If I could be honest the way Frankie lymon died is the same way how I lost my Dad
Speaking of child actors from Nickelodeon, that documentary is coming out next month. Part of me wants to see it and another part of me doesn’t. It’s look very dark.
Oooo, will you review Love Jones?

Back in the 40s 50s black people couldn't even use certain buildings only "for colored" buildings maybe Mexico was just nicer??
This movie was unintentionally funny 😂
