I almost lost the file after such effort 😂
Good thing I was able to export the video after many attempts.
Finished the animatic before flood in the town has subsided.
Hope y'all like it or enjoy it as Much as I do😊
I had fun during the making. Make sure to watch every second of it. ⊂((・▽・))⊃

Alright, so I see many people commenting facts about Howard's life, but many are actually false or rumors, so here are some that you can easily verify:
1- Despite being from aristocratic descent, her family was pretty poor, her father being one of 21 children and herself being 10th out of 11 kids. Her parents, especially father, often found themselves begging for money.
2- She was Anne Boleyn's first cousin (her father and Boleyn's mother being siblings), BUT she also was Jane Seymour's distant cousin (their grandmothers were sisters). Which means that out of 6 wives, three were blood related. He really had a thing for this family.
3- We don't actually know how old she was when she died. Her exact date of birth being unknown (sometime in 1523), she was either 18 (most probable since she died at the beginning of 1542, in February) or 19.
4- This is also the reason why we don't know whether she married Henry at 16 or 17; however, we do know how old he was: 49. All we know is that she got beheaded one year and 8 months after their marriage (or, 3 months after her title of Queen got taken away).
5- Her mother died in 1528, and soonly after, Katherine H. was send to live with her father's stepmother, the Dowager Duchess (of Norfolk). Sadly, the Duchess was negligeant and wouldn't really educate any of her wards (kids of artistocratic but poor relatives), especially not the girls.
6- Because of that, Howare was influenced by the other female wards who would allow men into sleeping areas at night, to play cards obviously.
7- As she was clearly more interested in dance & music than studies (she wasn't really ever described as a scholar), she started music lessons with two teachers, one of them being Henry Mannox, who took advantage of her by using the 6th fact, making her think that was normal (which it technically was back then, but not for non-married young girls.)
8- We do NOT actually know Mannox's age either. We suspect he was in his early to mid-twenties (around 23), but he might have been up to 36 years old.
9- He abused her for around 2 years; however, they both admitted, at court, that while they did have sexual contact, they didn't have penetrative sex. Which is STILL extremely gross, considering she was 13 and groomed.
10- After that, Dereham and her entamed a "relationship" when she was 15. He was either 29 or 32 (some think he was 25 but it's pretty unlikely + still wrong & morally reprehensible). According to records, they would call each other "husband" and "wife", and admitted to having signed a precontract marriage. If the Duchess hadn't found out about their "relationship", they would've echanged vows and would've been married in the eyes of Church.
11- She met Henry when she became a lady-in-waiting for Anna of Cleves, via her uncle the Duke of Norfolk who got her her place at the court.
12- The Howard family really wanted her to marry Henry, as a way to recreate the influence from Boleyn's reign (reminder, Boleyn's mother was a Howard herself).
13- Henry actually nicknamed her "his very jewel of womanhood"; the "rose without a thorn" is likely a myth.
14- "No other wish but his [Henry's]", that's what her motto became.
15- She was also Thomas Culpeper's distant cousin.
16- When she got arrested for infidelity, the King ordered to the guards to remove any object that might help her commit suicide.
17- As she had sex with Dereham (oh, he's back), the man got hanged as she got beheaded. Both his and Thomas' heads were placed on spikes atop London Bridge.
18- Defending herself, she denied any precontract and standed by her version: Dereham had raped her. While this IS what happened, as a 15yo can't consent to a ~30yo, them calling each other spouses got her unbelieve (despite the grooming & all, again, this happened over 4 centuries ago).
19- She did repeat laying her head under the block for hours and hours, the night during her execution.
20- Howard made a speech before getting beheaded, saying that her punishment was "worthy and just", asking for her family's mercy (as everyone but the Duke of Norfolk got arrested) and praying for her soul. She also said that she "deserved to die a thousand deaths for betraying the king, who had always treated [her] so graciously".
21- According to the popular folklore, her last words were "I die a Queen, but I would rather have died the wife of Culpeper". However, no witness reported this, instead talking about her speech of regret. Last words of a Queen being pretty much important AND getting reported to the King, it's extremely unlikely that she ever said that.
21- We do NOT know whether Culpeper raped her or not. Historians do suspect it, the writing of the letter found in his room being erratic and looking forced, but outside of this, we don't know. While K. Howard was saying Dereham raped her, she always admitted having an intercourse with Thomas. Jane Boleyn (Anne B's sister-in-law, her brother's widow) also witnessed & even organized some of their meetings, which is the reason why she died, joining her husband, sister-in-law and cousin-in-law.
22- And to finish: even in the case were Thomas didn't rape her, he used her to gain political power. The King was sick (hence why he died not so long after beheading Howard), and having been friend with him while having a relationship with the Queen would've gotten him a lot of power after Henry's death. He never loved her. Wasn't her lover, and wasn't her friend either.

I love how you made most of the animatic pink, because Katherine viewed everything through rose-coloured glasses. And then the black and white is Katherine reflecting on her decisions and memories.
I love marinette
Most of the animatic is pink because that's her color in the musical, like Anne Boleyn is green, Anne of Cleves is red, C/Katherine is pink, Catherine of Aragon is yellow, you get the point. But the rose coloured glasses is interesting, it could fit, but I don't think that's what the artist intended
Virtual Gaming Cat that’s a reason too! I just additionally interpreted it this way.
Virtual Gaming Cat maybe that’s one of the reasons why Howard’s signature colour is pink!

She talks like a child
"Playtimes Over"
"Enoughsie''
"Birds And The Bees Me"
@Chloe Benson we know what it means, using the term “birds and the bees” is a more child-friendly way of describing it and it’s how a lot of kids were taught in the beginning
Well, from what I gather she WAS a child when this happened to her... poor kid...
@Chloe Benson thank you
I thought it's meant to be "... enough see."
It’s both- in the beginning it’s enoughsie (childish language) but at the end it’s enough, see. To represent the fact that she has been forced to grow up too fast by all the trauma. At least that’s what I think
I hope that in her next life, she's free to do and live as she pleases. She deserves that freedom. Who else agrees?
I do but she will still be a child because she never got to grow up since she died when she was ( i think ) 19
Maybe she's you. Maybe she's me. Maybe she's yo mama.

It wasn't even confirmed she died at the age of 19 (as no one knows her actual birth date), she was so young. She was even reported to be practising how to lay her head on the block for the beheading. God, she deserves better

@@teshagoodwin1960 She was more exploited then abused. Clearly the first guy was a pedophile so anything he did with her sexually is automatically sexual abuse. It appears Francis verbally abused her and forced her to do stuff she didn't want to. In the song she says "My wrist were so tired still I came back the next day as he required". The last one well some historians say he raped her but I domt believe that. Could be abuse in the sense that it seemed he was forcing her into a relationship she didn't want.

But you really could hear the pain through that lone
Idk Anne Boleyn was actually beheaded because people falsely accused her of having an affair with her brother
And his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, was forced to marry a disabled man who died before they could even consummate their marriage then was just past down to the younger sibling. Who when she grew to love after a 24 year long marriage. (Even though he repetitively cheated on her and banned her from his chambers after her failure to give him a son) This husband fathers a bastard. Then literally splits from the church that his family has been with for generation just to divorce her. She also lived throughout the entire 5 more wives so she had to actively watch from afar as a man she loved and the father of her children did all this.
Nitemar Walker
But K also got beheaded by being raped by her cousin (Thomas) (I think?)
She was so innocent, and had a giggly personality. She got abused, raped, and used by her body. Her parents died when she was young, and she died at 19.
The day before the execution, she spent hours trying to learn how to place her head on the block.
@@nitemarwalker4186 Catherine of Argon died in 1536. The same year is Anne Boleyn, but I think we can all agree each of them had a rough time in their own ways....
However is terms of the competition.. Katherine Howard had it the worst

Not Today Satan

I really like how you actually drew the age differences between the versions of Katherine and the other men, it really shows how young she really was with the first man who took advantage of her. Amazing job!

@Jerry Owen True. I think the false age of "23" is actually a reference on their age difference.
It's a true story, ya.
weird how this has a very cute and girly sound but is actually one of (*cough* the most *cough*) painful songs
Not so fun facts:
Katherine Howard's music teacher, Henry Mannox WAS ACTUALLY 36, not 23
King Henry the 8th WAS 49 YEARS OLD when he married Katherine who WAS 17
Katherine Howard and Thomas Culpepper are cousins
mannox could've been in his mid-twenties to 36 but his age was never actually confirmed so rumors stay rumors
The exact age of Catherine Howard when she got married is unknown but she was an older teenager but that’s still really sad
Also Thomas had previously been banished from Henry's court for rape, though Henry eventually invited him back
I like how she described all the other guys attractiveness and Henry’s just Henry
That made me laugh so hard.

“ Serious Stern Slow Sexy Secretary To The Dowager Duchess”

It's nice to see someone make a animatic that shows just how messed up this song actually is
Don't get me wrong i do enjoy the other Six animatics but this one takes the cake when it comes to this song specifically
The men around Katherine especially near the beginning all actually looks older then her
And it shows just how messed up Kaths life was over the years
And don't even get me started on the glass shards that shown reflections of Kath being arrested and then about to be beheaded
I also like how to take some of the seriousness away from the song the animator draws Henry VIII t-posing to assert dominance
Also animation actually portrays exact lyrics but the hidden/sexual meaning is even worse...

Katherine’s story is so sad. She was so mentally unstable. She clearly suffered Stockholm syndrome, so traumatized by the sexual abuse at a young age that her mind convinced her that she was in love with the 36 yr old man that molested her. It all started from there, making her find toxic man to fall for.
@Dark spirit44 Stockholm syndrome is a condition in which hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during captivity. Emotional bonds may be formed, between captor and captives, during intimate time together, but these are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.
But this isn't really Stockholm syndrome, now is it? She was Not kidnapped by these men, she was abused.
Klara Rosengren not really and you’re right but it keeps a similar basis. She was a victim and her tutor was a predator but the abuse made her believe it was out of love. Somehow it matches. She was young, barely a preteen, so her mind was fresh to profane.
She and Francis were actually in love
Biased on the way this song is presenting her she sounds like she may have BPD. She starts off loving them then ends up hating them... A lot of those with it suffered sexual abuse..

I saw this but I wasn’t sure if I should point it out. The other guys are nicely drawn (meaning they are hawt lmao) then Henry’s just there like T \_/ T
God like at the start of the song she's trying to minimise the damage done by these guys by acting all flirty and coy about it (thirteen going on thirty! Um no honey you were a babychild) but when Thomas betrays her trust it's just the last straw and it all just boils over. It's so sad. And that's before her head comes off!
This really captures how young she was when it all started, like 13 year old Katherine looks like a child because she _was_ and he absolutely took advantage of her. And the visuals are generally gorgeous and give the same vibes as the choreography in the show.

@@emjay1354 man that's so sad...
When you listen to the lyrics, it is actually pretty sad. It sounds like she didn't want a lover, just a friend.
I think she didn't want a lover, just to be loved, and she never knew that, in true, what they felt for her wasn't love ( and I'm holding on not to complete this sentence with "it was a perfect illusion")... I think she gave herself for those men because that was the closest thing to "love" she knew, because they all said that they loved her but they only wanted to have sex with her...
Y'all be realizing that she's talking like a child, did y'all realize the fairest of the fair part was like part of a fairy tale. Snow white, which is like a kids bedtime story.
She was told she was the fairest of the fair to make her belive that she was more loved but in reality they just wanted sex ( the men ) so it almost is not like a fairy tale
Gruesome Fact: She was abused at 5, not 13. And she was beheaded at 17, depressing she never got to be an adult.

I actually like the small attention to history at 6:32 where the artist depicted Katherine resting her head on a headrest. Apparently it was believed that while she was in jail she has specifically requested a block to practice laying on for her execution. There’s so many details and tragedies in Katherine’s life that the musical kinda skims over, which is understandable, but this poor girl went through so much in those 19 years of her life.
The more you listen you realize she talks like a child.
*Birds and the bees me*

And a couple more..
Its quite sad when you realize it.
She was 16 when she was married to Henry I’m pretty sure and was 19 when she was beheaded so yeah she was pretty young

"When will enough be enoughsie"
Fairest of the fair could be taken as "childish" too
Enoughsies is also very childish
I just realized, when she's talking about Culpeper, she says, "Just mates, no chemistry." That line is so sad to me because she felt like she finally found a friend who cared about her and didn't have some alternative motive but in the end, he was just as bad as every the other men that abused her. The men in her life only liked her because she was young and could be taken advantage of. Even Dereham who was supposed to be her true love before she married Henry was just using her and mostly loved her for sex.
Based on some info I read
I think dereham truely loved her actually

@Grimmin a two part video called the six wives of Henry the VIII it is mentioned that in Howard's part : ua-cam.com/video/ED20XMi7BxE/v-deo.html
Fyi, Katherine was sexually abused by at least seven guys and died at nineteen. Also, from what are, Thomas actually loved Katherine, but because she was used so much, Katherine couldn’t tell the difference. I’m gonna go cry now.
I still feel iffy about Thomas. I don't know much except from what other sources people have researched and talked about in the comments of other vids, but Thomas is still her distant cousin. Even if he did genuinely love her I just don't think it's right, and I feel awful knowing Katherine's view of love became so skewed due to her trauma causing her to breakdown because of Thomas. Poor girl, she didn't deserve any of the abuse
Nah, Thomas didn't love Katherine, he was using her to get ahead at court. He had previously raped a gamekeeper's wife and killed her husband who tried to defend her. But he was a favourite of Henry's and was given a pardon. I mean, that tells us everything we need to know about both Thomas and Henry, really.
Wasn't Thomas her cousin?
,,,seven?
Thomas never loved her.
I love the phrase, “playtime’s over” being repeated throughout the song because it references the fact that Katherine was a child throughout ALLL of this (13-17), she was just a kid.
Fun reminder that she died when she was 19. So pretty much all of her relationships started when she was a minor. She married Henry when she was 16-17 and he was like 49.
Her story is honestly so fucking tragic. She was just a kid. She was a child and on repeat, she was being taken advantage of by significantly older men and essentially being taught that it was fine and that was her place. It's honestly- really fuckin tragic.
And she wins the race for saddest baskstory and *best queen*
this isn't a fucking fun reminder mom pick me io
How is that fun ? And he does have it the worst life
Plus no one believed he raped her when she tried to tell bc she was a woman
It's even possible that she was as young as 17 when she was executed - we really don't know her exact age. But it's entirely possible that she never even made it to adulthood. & that's the saddest part for me: she was just a kid.
you’re the only person I’ve seen so far actually portray her as a child and I am so grateful for that
Especially how contrasting
She's short and small and not at all adult looking
She's so young throughout the entire play, and it hurts

It doesn't romantize what he did. He was a pedo... The other songs do. 🤢
Yeah. She was only 19 when she was beheaded... So all these older guys took advantage of a young girl who had a serious lack of good parental guidance. Then she was killed because of it.

The fact that you showed how big of a YIKES thing it was from the VERY SECOND LYRIC in the animatic is relieving, discomforting and highly appropriate. You. You get it. Poor Catherine was no tool. She needed genuine love and care that didn't compromise her or her body.

Yes she had to be helped to climb the scaffold and assisted to kneel, as her legs were buckling beneath her with fright. Poor girl, she had actually planned to die bravely and gracefully but when it came to it, her nerves gave way.

some facts about katherine howard:
- she died when she was only 18 or 19 (her exact birthdate is unkown)
- henry mannox was actually 36, not 23
- she was anne boleyn's cousin
- she loved animals, especially dogs
- she loved dancing and got lessons for it
- she had a good sense of humor and was described as being 'giggly'
- it's unknown whether her name is spelled with a C or K since it was written differently on many occasions, but evidence suggests it was probably with a C (but tbh just write it how you want)
- the 'thomas' guy at the end was her cousin
- her mom died when she was around 5 and her dad died when she was around 15
- the night before her execution, she reportedly spent hours practising how to lay her head on the block
- she was buried in an unmarked grave
she won the competition for sure
**spits water** 36- holy-
THE FACT THAT SHE WAS REPORTED TO BE *PRACTISING* HOW TO LAY HER HEAD ON THE THING IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING
The fact that we don't even know for sure how old she was is fucking tragic. I have a lot of sympathy for Catherine Howard; she was given a really rough hand in life.
she was just so naive and those guys really took advantage of the fact she wanted to be loved- honestly i say jail for all guys who hurt her
I'm not really surprised about the cousin part. Everyone was related to everyone then
Anne of Cleaves was the only one smart enough to say: “this crown is NOT worth my life, bye!”
A few fun facts:
1) In Katherine’s letter to Thomas Culpeper, she doesn’t actively express any sort of romantic love for him other than when she signs, “Yours as long as life endures,” which could be interpreted in other ways. She also states how she longs to talk with Culpeper but nothing else eluding to something more intimate.
2) That letter plus other “confessions” was the only evidence they had of an affair.
3) Culpeper had never admitted to actually sleeping with Katherine but he did admit that he had intentions of sleeping with her, but only because she had seduced him.
4) Katherine’s last words weren’t actually, “I’d rather die a wife of Culpeper.” They were actually the traditional final words begging for forgiveness for her sins, acknowledging she deserved to die, “a thousand deaths,” for her betrayal, and she begged for mercy for her family who had been arrested and imprisoned.
5) The only reason Katherine’s past came to light was when John Lassels reported to Thomas Cranmer that his sister Mary had refused to join her household because of what she had witnessed Katherine doing. Cranmer interrogated Mary and she revealed everything. Cranmer immediately took up the case because he despised her uncle, the Duke of Norfolk and was delighted at the thought of toppling his rival’s position.
6) When Cranmer went to question her, even he pitied her when he saw how frantic she was and even ordered that the guards remove anything she could use to commit suicide.
7) The Royal Assent by Commission Act 1541 made it treason and punishable by death for a queen consort to disclose her previous sexual history to the king within 20 days of her marriage, and to incite someone to commit adultery. This act would ultimately seal her fate and she was sentenced to death.
8) Thomas Culpeper was a very cruel man and had even been arrested in the past for rape and murder. But he was pardoned by the king.
My theory:
I don’t believe Katherine ever had an affair with Thomas. I believe she was just a child who got caught up in the political schemes of the people around her. I fully believe that Thomas was being truthful when he said he intended to do ill with the queen but he wasn’t being truthful about Katherine seducing him and he only said that in an attempt to save his own skin. There is just too little evidence and too much speculation (with most historians agreeing that Katherine was innocent of an affair) for me to fully believe that she was guilty. The fact that they had to make an entire act in order to make her sexual history a punishable offense proves to me that all they could really prove was her past experiences with Mannox and Dereham. Katherine was a poor child who was neglected, groomed and sexually exploited all her life up until her last moments. She was surrounded by creepy men who saw a young girl and thought she was the best thing in the world. And of course, she barely had an education despite her aristocratic status and was surrounded by people who never taught her to know any better. But who knows. The only ones who know the truth are dead.
She was literally 19. And Henry was in his 50s. Just...what.
Nah she died at 19
Makes me think about how different they must have been and if they clashed. think of a 19 y/o and a 50 y/o trying to connect today
Things were very different back then
Crystalline Aqua very very different..
Yeah female were basically ready for marriage once they got their first period in those decades

She’s talking about she wanted no romantic relationship with Thomas, she just wanted a friend, she’s trying to convince herself that he didn’t want her like that by saying “he just cares so much, he’s devoted.” She meant hes devoted to being a FRIEND, she was trying to convince herself that everything he did was normal and that he didn’t view in her that way until he said “we have a connection” and thats when she knew he did view her in that way just like every other guy.

It's so sad how older men ruined her life sometimes people can be selfish idiots she had a future ahead of her!!!
Main character: 3:27
Me: Ya gurl you got more tea?
The most heartbreaking part is that Henry called her his “rose without a thorn”. Francis came to her at court and blackmailed her into letting him work at court, along with a woman she lived with at the Dowager Duchess’s house who knew everything that happened with Francis. She was surrounded by people using her, her uncle consistently told her how stupid she was and what she needed to do. Henry also tended to listen to her opinions. She also had a fur coat sewed for an old lady in the tower because it was winter. She was such a young child and truly sweet in temperament, and was just constantly pushed around by the men in her life.
Katherine was really sweet but the people abusing her are empty, no soul. She didn't deserve what happened to her. She definitely had it the worst as she was 17-19 when she died and her death was very painful, unlike Anne boleyns death.
It’s so unfair that Catherine has been written off as a promiscuous vixen and a foolish idiot. She was so much more than that - well-mannered, generous and kind. I believe that she was innocent, even if historians can’t agree if Catherine was abused or not. There’s little proof that she and Culpeper had sex and, by her own confession, evidence that there was coercion involved in her relationships. But, even if she really was guilty of adultery and willingly slept with Dereham before she married the king, it’s still not fair to call her a harlot. She was just a teenager who didn’t understand. And to die at so young an age, no older than 21 at the very most. The musical may omit some important details of Catherine’s life, but at least finally some poetic justice is being done for her.
However, I’d just like to add here that Henry VIII probably never called Catherine his ‘rose without a thorn’. Historian Claire Ridgway, over at The Anne Boleyn Files, has written an article in which she debunks this myth. The phrase actually originates from a coin struck in 1526, which bore the words ‘Henry VIII, the dazzling rose without a thorn’. I highly recommend you give it a read, it’s a very interesting piece:
