I've been a pesticide applicator for the last 4 years and just CANNOT imagine doing something like this. The thinner skin of certain areas of the body and the mucous membranes are some of the areas that absorb toxins MUCH easier, especially when they are in liquid form. Skin is a great barrier, but it isn't perfect. The warning labels on these products doesn't mess around and should always be adhered to.
Right? I use herbicides pretty often and I can't imagine doing something like this. This is just a chilling reminder to use proper ppe using herbicides.

This man was probably not the brightest before this finally "bad call". The fact that he cheated on his wife is bad. Hopefully he was drunk and wouldn't have cheated otherwise. I hope that he didn't have sex with his wife once he was afraid that he had contracted an STD. The fact that he decided to "self medicate" instead of going to a doctor probably means that he lives in a small child community and knew the doctor and didn't want to start the rumor mills to start churning out the truth of his night out. So much pain and misery from cheating. I feel for his entire family.
You can't possibly pay that guy enough! He is so good! I was crylaughing the whole first half of the video, then it turned into a tragedy - and he was great in that too. Great writing and narration too. One of the best videos I've seen on YT in a while.

"Strange sores between his legs" Hear me out, but if you do strange things down there, they are no longer "strange" sores. They're completely understandable sores.
This story is nuts... literally and figuratively. I'd feel completely insane to tell urgent care doc that I'd been bathing my choad in herbicide on a regular basis. Way less embarrassing to just admit you made a drunken mistake and need treatment for your infection/infestation.
The case study this was based on says the reason for the patient (76 years old) doing this was to try to cure eczema. Still a dumb choice, but the "hiding a STI from the wife" story seems to just be a dramatic note created for this video.

I have had personal experience of using this chemical as a weedacide when working on a farm and it was well known that paraquat is about the most poisonous spay we used so it is extremely important not to get it on your skin of breath the vapour. Ingesting a small ammount of it can be fatal. I Australia farmers are required to have a chemical licience before doing any spraying and the chemicals have to be kept in a special chem shed which locked and had apropriate warning signs on it. And inspectors from the gov dept of primary industries regularly check on it. I cant believe how stupid this man was. The advantage of this spray is you spray it on weeds and within hours the weeds fall over and die. What an idiot.
This isn’t exactly a good thing to use even in a proper way because it does affect wildlife- ur indirectly affecting pollinators too when u use these on weeds… if u won’t use it on ur food then don’t use it on the wildlife either.
I mean. If he’s stupid enough to have unprotected sex with a stranger… I’m not saying he deserved anything to happen to him, but he really is his own worst enemy.
When I was a teenager and smoking a lot of weed, we found out that paraquat was being used to kill off the pot fields. I'm still hanging on 50+ years later. My step dad had Parkinsons'. He crop dusted his family's farm in South Georgia. That pesticide is related to neurological diseases. He would also be in the field when the plane dumped the pesticide over the fields. Damn.
It's doubtful you smoked any pot that had been sprayed , Paraquat is a desiccant on plant life meaning it dries it out usually in one day so if authorities wanted to burn a field of green , growing weed , they could spray it in the morning and burn it in the afternoon . Pot growers do not do this , crispy brown weed would not sell well i'd think .
I got a chemical burn on my thigh/butt recently from a toilet seat (bowl cleaner splashed up on the seat and it wasn’t completely rinsed off) and it was a TERRIBLE week for my butt. I had to sit on an ice pack the whole week. Be careful with chemicals and always tell your medical team everything you know about what’s going on. Chemical burns are no joke.
If you drink tap water, you probably filter it first, BUT your body absorbs the harmful chemicals in tap water even more from when you bathe or shower in it. The same is true for chemicals. If you can afford it, though, get a shower filter.
That's incredibly random, I did not know that was something that could happen. I'm so sorry you went through that. Hope your cheeks bounced back after that
"BUT your body absorbs the harmful chemicals in tap water " Most of the developed world has safe tap water, you don't need to worry about harmful chemicals in your water (at least, not in the quantities present).@@EmeraldEyesEsoteric
I don't know about that, I'd say the number one spot is deserved by John Allen Chau, the idiot who went to the Sentinelese island, because he believed in an imaginary guy in the sky, that apparently compelled him to go spread his mental illness to these untouched people's.
People are only eligible for a Darwin award if they haven't reproduced yet, so unless this happened recently or is already on that list the really sad part is he probably left behind children also.
I'm floored by the line of thinking PT had. "This spray that I use to kill certain plants seems like the perfect solution to an STI... Better than getting chewed out by the wife!" Makes me think he could've been the kind to (purposely) inject antibiotics meant for livestock given the 'right' circumstances.
The STI part is completely made up for this video, the real story is eczema and it happened in China. Still a stupid thing to do of course but this video is a only loosley based on the real event. Edited for spelling.
Man, imagine dying like this just because you didn't want to go to a urologist. Imagine your husband/wife dying like this and then you learn the truth afterwards. Holy hell.
Something I notice about a lot of these stories is that there is usually a specific moment or justification where the character makes some leap in logic that is utterly confounding and specifically leads to the poisoning. Like in this case, it’s the moment at 1:30 when the farmer has the idea that herbicide would work equally well on the flesh of his genitalia as it does on plants.
What got me was he knew it caused the plant to disintegrate, and thought it would do the same to his...parts. And then decided THAT is what he wanted to do!

Triggering in 2 ways for me-- 1 my ex husband had also "been to a place and had an encounter" which also resulted in severe redness and pain and itching in that area, which he tried to hide by making up excuses to avoid intimacy with me-- AND 2 my now deceased second husband once endured pain all night and morning and avoided the family and later got in the car and drove himself to the urgent care clinic when it turns out he was having actual kidney failure-- WHY, GUYS, WHY?? Transparency and honesty is better. Say what is happening Anyway, another outstanding video. Your skills as an educator are excellent. I never did well in chemistry class, but these explanations here make sense on the first listening. @@smelma Are you implying that there IS a rational explanation for avoiding proper medical attention, or "dealing with things themselves," as you say...? Herbicide formulations often also contain detergents to help the herbicide stick to the leaves of the plants. These would have stripped his skin oils and increased absorption even more.
Someone advised mixing a drop of washing up liquid (I think Americans call it dish soap) with distilled white vinegar mixed with water in ration 1:2, and spraying it on weeds. I tried it and it worked, slowly, you have to wait a few days to see the weeds dry out. But far better than using dangerous chemicals to kill weeds. Imagine what those chemicals do to wildlife, people and pets.
I live in the country. I refuse to use chemicals labelled for pesticide or herbicide uses. After a few years of university biochem, you realize how nasty some of these chemicals are.
Yeah even without studying them, my grandma always told me that those things are inherently dangerous because "you don’t know what’s in them and they’re chemical made to kill things" even when they were still used profusely, it’s baffling to even imagine that a large dose of any pesticide/herbicide could be an effective medicine on humans

I have had personal experience of using this chemical as a weedacide when working on a farm and it was well known that paraquat is about the most poisonous spay we used so it is extremely important not to get it on your skin of breath the vapour. Ingesting a small ammount of it can be fatal. And inspectors from the gov dept of primary industries regularly check on it. I cant believe how stupid this man was. The advantage of this spray is you spray it on weeds and within hours the weeds fall over and die. What an idiot.

Incredible and sad story. Very well narrated.
The government is the real criminal, not the pot farmers... That's heartbreaking to read. Sorry to hear that

It was emphasized over and over that you should never transfer pesticides to an unlabeled container like the man in the story that the OP referenced. Peoples in agriculture are handling the concentrated herbicides, not the stuff that you can buy for use on your lawn.
I appreciate that you make an attempt at explaining their reasoning for doing these bizarre things
Appreciate all the good work you do! Most impressive! 👑
Thank you!
My monthly dose of presenting to the emergency room. Wait this guy again didn’t he drink it last time? This guy needs to stay away from farming.
And instant ramen.
@@Daemon__Sultanah no there was another farmer that had accidentally ingested the same exact herbicide, mistaking it for Gatorade that he put on the same shelf
His tacos are to die for!
@@textman09 Yup, and the same actor also played a dude who wouldn't stop eating ramen.
@@Daemon__Sultanah I’m just wondering if they’re the same person I get it there’s an actor but the person
I used to work agronomy and dealt with many different chemicals. Paraquat is the one that scared us the most. It’s literally agent orange.
My dad grew up on a farm and would always tell my brother and I about how it came in dark bottles with a label that said 'one swallow will kill"
It literally isn't agent orange and that's neither here or there, because the problem with agent orange was that it was contaminated with dioxin.
@@chillchica9626I grew up on a farm too. Brown bottle. Huge red childproof cap with skull and crossbones on that cap. Warning in big letters ''one swallow can kill. Poisoning symptoms are delayed and extremely painful". Very powerful tool. Not to be mishandled or misused. There were many accidents resulting from this being transferred out of its bottle with the childproof cap and into a food container of some kind. Back then, it was a dark brown liquid that could be mistaken for soda or soy sauce.
It's not the same as agent orange, agent orange has dioxin in it which is a carcinogen. You have to ingest a lot more agent orange over a longer period to be killed by it, paraquat is way more toxic.
@@pocpic I’ve little doubt it wasn’t “contaminated”, but quite literally purpose built around the 2,3,7,8 tetrachlorodibenzodioxin contents from the moment they realized BP in synthesis onward.
Oookay, this guy had to sneak in at night (and presumably couldn't visit the doctor) out of fear of letting his wife know, but he thought he could walk around with a pesticide diaper without making anyone suspicious? And after an initial visit to the hospital where they told him explicitly to stop doing this, he landed himself back in the hospital with ANOTHER diaper of the stuff?
He needed a psychiatric consult, more than anything.
My God,i know i shouldnt be laughing at this, but the re-enactment actor just about had me on the floor
Same
He’s so good though. Love the videos he’s in.
It was the balls in the socks that did had me rolling 😂😂😂
There should be a whole new category at the Oscars for UA-cam actors.
Yes!
I love attending an online medical school run by a meme lord. I always learn so much watching these.
Online medical homeschooling 😂😂😂
He’s right about dangerous chemicals being found.
My husband was a mosquito control director of a city.
He often went to small towns to help out small programs.
The things he ran across left in old city storage sheds would blow your mind.
This actor really committed. I'm impressed.
Temu Vampire Bill
I mean, I’m a female, and think even I could pull off acting out what it would feel like to have my balls on fire, and my heart about to explode because of it.
Wolfgang is easily my favorite actor that performs on this channel. That dude kills its everytime
One of the main reasons I watch these clips, are the great actors, it is so refreshing not to be fed boring unrelated stock footage.
Are the great actors*
@@Kiwi-w4q Haha yeah, I think I started one sentence but ended with another :D And I am a veteran linguist :D
At least he wouldn't have gotten crotch crickets! Audience wishes his grieving survivors all the best. Cheers!
