The clarity is amazing in this video. I learned more watching this than I did in the first tort lecture from my introduction to business law at my university, and that was an hour and 15 minute long lecture...
I've learned more from videos like these than I did from reading for 2+ hours.... Thank you, all of you who upload instructional videos on UA-cam. I wish the schools who posted links to these videos would compensate you but I guess that is where the ad revenue comes from.
UNBELIEVABLY HELPFUL. Well done!! THANK YOU for posting. Frustrating hours spent in class and reading text book, and still not gaining understanding but you've sure put it into context. Thanks again!
This is amazing, I am so glad I found this youtube channel. Civil vs Criminal was really confusing me and this was really clear and memorable! Thank you!
I had to take a tort law class in 1985 as part of a Data Processing course I was taking. I was surprised at how much about law I already knew but didn't know it. We had cases to discuss and I was always correct as to what the outcome should be. I was also one of two guys in the class. One morning one of the ladies asked me why/how I got all the cases right. I told her that when it comes to matters of law you have to think with your head not your heart. The teacher agreed. My journey in understanding law started on active duty trying to figure out how the Uniform Code of Military Justice(UCMJ) works and how to make it work for me. I have been sued twice and both cases were dismissed. My company's assigned vehicle was hit while being legally parked in front of my house. What they did not know was while on active duty one of my duties was to photograph accidents. The second guy who sued I'm thinking did it intentionally. He also wanted to be reimbursed for medical bills. He did not realize I had pics of him lifting a heavy case from the car trunk and walking around uninjured and not in any distress. He even left the scene in someone's personal vehicle not by ambulance. The vehicle was whomever he called to come get him. According to the lawyers my company had, with my pictures, accident report, diagram he didn't have too much of a leg to stand on. Federal law/regulations require a certain amount of light reflecting markers/tape. I had more than the requirements but they did not see a vehicle that requires 13'6" by 8'6" clearance?
Thanks for getting back to me, Aaron. Great to hear more videos being produced...I'll be back to your channel to peruse the new legal content. Thank you sir. :-)
I find these videos very helpful for my interpreting course, it gives me such an insightful understanding to the legal system. Now I need to find these type of videos in medical field....and social welfare, and everything else haha! Thanks a lot!
Joe Allen Yep. Distinguishing between civil and criminal can be confusing. The easiest way to remember is that criminal is paid (only government can pursue) with jail time and civil is paid with money (civilians pursue damages). Jail vs Money.
So, the reason for releasing certain law sources of information is because I didn’t look them up and I wasn’t there yet in learning about them. I’m barely trying to get to my beginning not because of lack but because of unneeded interruptions in my data that changed my future plans that I’m trying to fix and those who tried to change my dream plans were doing it on purpose and were cyber bullying me not leaving me alone and slowing things down for me. You Tubes fault mixed in with those responsible for the bullying.

It's all civil. A corporation has no authority to hear criminal cases and the definition can be found in the US code

If tried criminally, how does double jeopardy not come into play with torts.
A tort is not considered a crime. It's a lawsuit rather than trial.
+Kamaka Flower Pahinui please see above, I place my response incorrectly.
