Jeanty's 1889 yards after contact through 13 games would not have just been the most by a wide margin this year, it is more than any RB has rushed for since 2019.
Route running as an RB is really not a critical skill. Far more important to have good hands, good transition from catching to running, and YAC ability in space, of which he is great at all 3. In 2023 he had those 570ish receiving yards. Over 600 came after the catch.........so on like 43 receptions, he was averaging like 14 YPC, AFTER THE CATCH. Fuck route running if you can do that. He doesn't have to lineup at receiver and run choice routes like CMC or Kamara. And though his frame hurts a bit in route running, it is a huge plus in the screen game as he is really tough to track behind lineman. He was so good in the screen game in 2023, they just couldn't use him in in this year because the entire defense was keyed in on him every snap.
Thank you for the feedback! This is my first year giving prospects scores/ratings on top of their final grade (Ex. Jeanty got a 3.74/4), so the weighted traits are still fluctuating.
@ Absolutely, enjoyed the watch just defending my guy! It’s just funny going into this season his main “strength” was his receiving ability, now it’s one of his most common discussed weaknesses
Jeanty had an arm/elbow injury against UNLV, and then also had a leg injury against Wyoming. I only remembered the arm injury after recording, so I failed to mention that in the video. Thank you! I hope to make more great videos going forward.
