Komatsu PC3000 Loading CAT 777F Trucks.

One of the last Komatsu PC3000 mining machines working in a UK opencast coal mine.
With an operating weight of around 270 tonnes, this was one of four machines working the Fos y Fran opencast coal site near Merthyr in South Wales.
Officially closed at the end of 2023, we filmed this machine moving material to help cover up an exposed coal scheme to stop trespassers taking the coal and making the site safe.
