Indranee rejects call for training requirements for nominee directors with excessive directorships

- During the Parliamentary debate on the Corporate Service Providers Bill, Mr. Louis Chua from the Workers’ Party underscored Singapore's need to protect its global reputation against associations with money laundering and “Singapore-washing.”
He called for stringent measures to prevent exploitation of the financial system and expressed disappointment over the shelving of a proposal mandating training for nominee directors holding excessive directorships.
In response, Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah emphasized that competence should be evaluated based on individual capabilities rather than a set number of directorships. She highlighted the need for flexibility for experienced professionals while ensuring all directors, including nominees, fulfill their fiduciary duties competently.
Ms Indranee underscored that corporate service providers and companies share the responsibility of ensuring nominees are fit and proper, with regulatory agencies providing oversight.
Can clearly see the difference in quality between a PAP MP and WP MP. Thats why as things are now, I will not vote for a WP MP, their quality just sucks.
This WP MP really need to have his head examined. What has the money laundering case in Singapore got to do with 1MDB ? Thats why going by the standards of WP MPs, I would not vote for any WP MPs.
❤I see a logical issue:
The max number of directorships js not set just because some (I presume a minority) are so talented like superman they can take up so many directorships. But why one size fit such a minority of people? You can have two sizes or have one size for the majority population where it would be perceivably logical to accept that say having 10 to 20 directorships is considered a lot already
WP should ask PAP why the government is not open and transparent.
$3Billion in laundering while a record or very high an ampint at the world level, we must not allpw singapore to be called the dirty money hub of the world.
Pathetic! Just ask what Lee Hsien Loong, when he was the PM, mean when he said he could bring in more billionaires to SGP!!! billionaires $ launders from PRC?
Without the voters who voted them how could they have been able to do what they do?
My hyppthetical to bring across a point:
Lockup everyones money until 90 years old. Rationale : a few may lose their money to scammers. Locking up prevents this .
Question : what is the flaw in this logic?

Coincidentally, many years ago, I knew of a foreigner with a Chinese accent working here told me he part time as Property Agent. My gut feeling is he is very rich today.
That said, my politically correct view is, this has nothing to do with laundering. It's purely a coincidence that he has a china accent
