Thank you very much! Fantastic videos! With your help I managed to replace the piston rings. I got the head refurbished by an engine repair shop and again with your help managed to put everything together again, avoiding some pitfalls you showed.

Well done sir! Will be a big help reassembling mine. Same exact problem. There is a Canadian Volvo Dealer who claims the problem is the serpentine belt tensioner bouncing, allowing the belt to jump off the pulley and into the timing belt. He recommends replacing it every 30K. I'll check my timing cover tomorrow during re-assembly.

Glad it's helpful! That makes sense on the tensioner, it's too bad a jumped belt can cause such a problem

This video saved me from many mistakes. Question. I removed the cam adjusters before sending the head out to be redone ( I did not make their location in reference to the cam itself). The cam end where the cam adjusters install on to are not keys so I have no idea how they should be. Any suggestions on how to install the cam adjusters back on the cam? Thank you.

Thank you! Glad to hear it. That is VIDA, volvo's dealer software. You can get a copy here volvodiag.com/

Well done sir,I’ve been following your tips, while I’m replacing my head gasket. Just a question, is there any place that I can get the Volvo software for free? I did a quick search but haven’t found any info about. Thanks in advance!

I wasn't able to find it free anywhere. I got it from volvodiag.com/
It's only $5 for the download

My 2012 Volvo S60 T4 with the 1.6 turbo four cylinder from Ford named Sigma B4164T engine is using 1 liter of oil every 1,100 Km. Where can I source the new pistons and rings to have them replaced? I’ve performed oil and filter changes every 5,000 Km but it seems insufficient. Also, I did perform and engine flush only to engross the gross profit margin of the oil change facility!

Sorry you're having the oil consumption issue. FCPeuro is where I was able to source the parts for this t5. I am not sure if they have the t5 pistons. If not I would try to order through the dealer

@@NotEnoughProjects …and the MPS6 transmission’s given an “low performance” error that was subsided by having its oil and external filter replaced as well!
I’m trying to comprehend the economics of the decision to repair vs scrap an otherwise perfect and nice looking vehicle.
