Ok but like his house just opened up
We not gonna talk about that?
Ok
Give this man enough money and we would have a real life boulder mountain playset.
That shed door is some Thunderbirds level stuf
We all need a friend like joe.
just making my license, so soon I will be a friend like Joe :D

All we need is to befriend Joe....
A friend like Joe.... Joe mamma!
I wan't a house like Joe. Forget the gyro - how about a close up on the working of that amazing garage door. Sorry, front of house door. No, Wall Door? Front, wall, house, garage door. (With hydraulics)
www.pinterest.com/srafitzpatrick/hangar-homes/
Foldable house?
The Gyrocopter/Gyroplane would be a whole lot of fun but that house is fascinating! I don't my wife would be exactly thrilled with it but I'd have a great time with one of those!!
In my youth, more than 55 year's ago; While in my early 20's. I built, learned to fly, what was then referred to as a Gyro-Copter. I put more than a couple of hundred hour's in that old converted from a go-cart, an old raggedy Brigg's and Stranton lawn mower engine. Ahhhh, the summer of 69. While other youth's my age were busy with the Drug's, Sex, Rock and Roll, I had my gyro- copter.
That was wonderful! I fly PPG but I would love to Hitch a ride in gyrocopter sometime!
I've done both a while ago and I'm not sure which one I would like to do again. Gyros are so much faster and easier to take of and can handle winds, but glide like a brick with engine off. PPG are safe and slow I guess, cheaper and easier to put into the back of your car.
Let's say that Joe is living my dream life, and leave it at that.
I have lived in Florida since 1972 and have traveled extensively by motorcycle for fun
I had no idea about the exact area where you were flying, but I will ride my bike down Highway 46 soon
I would love to go see Gyro Joe... Just to give him a hearty handshake and thank him for taking you on this adventure
I appreciate you sharing this with us
"Out of Africa" was one of my favorite movies of all time and I really appreciate the reference in the beginning of this video
I can't imagine a more exciting flight and how fantastic you got to experience it
Once again, thanks for sharing this with us
Greg Savel Out of Africa. Yes! Kim and the Land Rovers. No better combination than that. Great movie.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Joe at his house and taking a flight with him. A great guy and I hope one day he comes to the UK and I can take him flying in my gyro. Safe flying
@Stephen Morris >>> I bet _you_ NEVER SEE *'GATORS* when flying in the UK...😁😁😁
That’s great dear 👍 I will also love to meet you one day and you will take me fly with your gyro lol...😊
It's cool, but I'm thinking, what if the rear passenger accidentally raises his arms? Is that blade in amputation range?
I was wondering same thing.
No it’s nowhere near close enough for that. Just looks like it is from the camera angle
NOTAM: tell your passengers not to raise their arms
How does one "accidentally" raise his arms?
Joe looks like the meme guy 😂
Got to get one of those! Makes my motorcycle look like old folk's toy.
Loose the millennial chipmunk music and the video would be great.
I wondered if anyone else felt that way. For me, no music is needed for any aviation video, maybe just intro and outro at the very beginning and end.
Everyone is using Dubstep now, so it's a cliche anyway.
I didn't want to mute due to dialog and the occasional engine/wind/rotor sound.
Terrific! I’m considering getting one. Out in the open is great but I think I want a little more fuselage around me. From what I’ve read, they are very safe but have a high crash/death history due to the fact they’re so maneuverable it makes cowboying them hard to resist. 😉
It's like a damn helicopter motorcycle! Looks like a complete blast! Thanks SO much for sharing!!
I half expected to hear the Internet Historians voice come out of Joe’s mouth.
Great video, love it!
Not everyone is much privileged as Joe,looks like he's got some dosh and a load of goodies to play about with...
He’s a hard worker and definitely earned everything he has. It’s inspiring
I can only imagine the flight hours it takes to feel confident flying at those speeds in something that small and open
Flying at those level trust in your machine is everything!!!!
I mean, its a flying machine. If you hit something, I don't think how open or small it is will make much difference to the result.
Is it fitted with air bags ? 😀@@drew6017
Would love to have a friend over on that porch and take them for an unexpected ride with the hydraulics!!
THAT is how I fly my Gyroplane... I love the Flower quote...
Let’s be gauche and talk price.
Hey Joe, I live in Florida and I’m free next weekend. Seriously, this is the kind of flying I’ve always wanted to do. Awesome video.
Sorry I did not see this till today. I am not taking people up, because there is no way to social distance while I am getting a pax ready. Also I can not adequately clean my helmets, and the back seat passenger uses my wife's helmet.
My bad, I was just kidding. Sorry.
Wow, every pilots dream home.
Play CCR when watching with the sound off :) thank me LATER 😀😀😀😀:)
GREAT flight, videography & commentary! GyroJoe ....- one of Florida's gyro legends! (&an awesome humble guy I am proud to call friend!)
Gawrsh...high praise from the internationally known Gyrogypsy.
That would be so cool I wonder if you are afraid of heights how you could over come your fear? The dude is a Damn good pilot I am very impressed. How many gallons an hour to fly what is the range on a full tank that is bad ass! I need to start living again got to move out of this shit hole town Elko Nv
I am thinking those people on the boat "sweet! I'm on a flat boat".......,looks up and sees you guys...." Awww, this boat sucks"
I feel like this whole setup is the equivalent to a motorcycle in the air. There's is literally nothing around you to protect you from rain, bugs, crashes, snakes, or anything. Yet it's a ride you won't experience anywhere else
Well, theres very little to protect any plane from a crash
@@fryncyaryorvjink2140 But in most planes, you don't get bugs in your teeth lol
@@thomasvlaskampiii6850 Why do you think they are wearing helmets with visors on them?
Yes, gyros are the "motorcycles" of the air. They are VERY maneuverable and are quite open to the air. They can also do some maneuvers that a helicopter can not do.
Great video and an awesome flight for sure! As much as you like flying the cub...you should reach out to Cory Robin of the Flying Cowboys and see if you can set up a flight with him. I'd love to see your reaction to a flight in a Super Cub/Carbon Cub with a good bush pilot. 180 hp lightweight cub...got to be an e ticket ride!
Hey, Joe! No more landing on the Capitol lawn!!! :)
@Jay Philip Williams >>> You can ALWAYS try it ONCE...😝😝😝😝
Wow, looks like you had a lot of fun and thanks for sharing.
That's how I liked to fly with my ultralight. Relaxed low level sight seeing, while everyone else was trying to fly long distance or as high as possible.
This is really cool and I’m loving watching it!!! Joe, thank you man. My bud needed that ride. ☺️
Great video but horrible background music.
"If you can't smell the flowers..." Another great UA-cam moment.
Up there with 'Life is like a carrier landing..." comment.
What a great resource this is.
Is this legal in the US? that pilot would not have a licence in Australia..
Ok, I am confused: why was the rotor already spinning, even before they start moving?
Beregorn88 there is a gear you engage to “prime” the rotor prior to taxi/takeoff.
Most modern gyroplanes have a pre-rotator that couples to the engine prior to the takeoff roll to bring the rotor up to 200 or more RPM to shorten the takeoff roll. It must be decoupled before the nosewheel comes off the ground, or torque from the rotor will spin the aircraft out of control. One of the most-popular gyroplane models, the Auto-Gyro MTOsport, is now available with a third-generation rotor system that can be pre-rotated to 320 RPM, and combined with the newly-available Rotax 915iS engine (135 horsepower) it has some really impressive takeoff performance.
WOW. The FPV take off view was amazing, it was almost as if I was sat there. Thanks for an amazing video.
Do you have to take flight training for this type of equipment .I had seen various types of aircraft like the Moskito and side by side as well.
What is your take on this.
Wow - now that's the only way to get around
I'd LOVE to fly that thing around my neighborhood, in a New England blizzard!!
I am truly envious of that home
Thats one cool hangar door. Puts my ordinary one to shame. Looks like alot of fun in the open like that.
Make that Golf Buggy Fly, now that’s impressive.
This is fantastic ! One of the coolest videos I've seen on UA-cam of late.
Are we going to forget about that built in hangar?
If I could get past being terrified, I think it would be great fun. Glad I got to watch from my living room. Thanks.
Didnt know Hot Wheels made gyrocopters. cool paint job
I’ll say this, I am absolutely ridiculously terrified of flying. When I was young I loved every second and I flew at least 6 to 8 times a year. Something in me over the past 5 years has made it unbearable, each time I got worse and worse. It would require heavy drinking or medication to get on a plane. It’s now gotten to be that I will not fly anymore, even with heavy Xanax I just can’t do it. I truly respect and admire people that can enjoy flying. I hold myself back from a lot of adventures and beautiful experiences because of this fear that I have metastasized. I really enjoy learning and am an undercover nerd. Needless to say I found your channel by going down the quintessential UA-cam rabbit hole and here I am. I’ve kicked around some of your videos and must say I’ve enjoyed them. This gyroplane seems very cool and that has to have been such an amazing experience, great job capturing that. Very cool guy to take you out and fly you around on such a unique machine. Florida has it’s perks, just moved from Ft. Lauderdale to Greenville, SC 8 months ago. Sorry for the long ramble, anyways 🤦🏼♀️just wanted to express my appreciation for your video and you’ve got a new sub. Thanks
@Lauren Arnold >>> I have not flown in *_several_* years, but I *WAS* a student pilot back in 1979 & 1980. {I did not stick with it due to lack of $$$. However, I have worked in aviation - both military and then civilian - since 1983.}
*PLEASE* _try_ to find *SOMEONE* to help you *OVERCOME* your fear! What I WOULD NOT GIVE to have my private pilot's _or_ sport pilot's license NOW _and_ have _something_ to fly, *INCLUDING A GYRO!!!!*
BTW, I was born and raised in St. Pete {where I was a student pilot}. I also lived in Dade County from 1988 to 1995, when I was in the US Coast Guard. I have lived in northeastern North Carolina since 1995 - transferred here with the USCG. Retired from _"The Guard"_ in 2003, been living here ever since.
I blame TSA for your fears. Those ugly, strange hands all over you, using gloves over and over again to spread cooties. Ugh!
KutWrite Hello, I CARRY EXTRA GLOVES for them, or ask them to change their , when they examine my CPAP MACHINE, which is life support when I sleep. Cheers From NJ 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love them, but I would need some protection from the weather here!
Hey Pedro could I pm you. I have some questions about your career in aerospace engineering!
Now we know what the rich do with their money. Borrrrrring!
Back in the early '80's a guy was trying to sell gyros at the corner of I-4 and 434 in the Exxon station that was there. It was when ultralights were first becoming popular.
No way jose get me in that thing.
About all I can saw is a HUGE WOW!!! I've flown in small planes and a helicopter and that there was something else, thanks for the ride along.
Definitely the coolest video I’ve seen on UA-cam in a helluva long time! I’d love to get his contact info from you so I can fly with him one day!
Yes. It is BEAUTIFUL! Once most of my home of Florida looked like this. Just give it time & y'all will witness how YANKEE money defeats 'protected & untouchable' land. They'll tear the beauty of God's natural wonder up.. fill the land... dry the NATURAL Everglades as they've been doing for years. The Everglades is a National Park btw... Did y'all KNOW that? So question: would you tear up a place like Yellowstone? Grand Canyon? ...what's the difference?
@Joshua Benefield yet the developers HAVE continued to FILL the glades and build. It's been written into law for years however their money keeps buying their way in court. If u could have seen the footprint of The Everglades many years ago it'd be easier to understand my point. I pull up maps on the smart phone & see previously untouched swamp that is FILLED and developed. The glades are less than HALF the size it should be. Write Governor & tell them to quit allowing the developers to rape this land. 😎 Have a good day
@Joshua Benefield well J.B those sugar developers have been there for decades and so have the Dairy Farmers. The real problem is when developers cut down every native tree especially in a cypress head and they fill wetlands & that ruins the ecosystem. They've redirected the NATURAL flow. The cane fields & Dairy Farmers have been blamed because they want to lay blame on someone other than the fact that development is the problem. You cannot fill a swamp such as the Everglades which is a major ecosystem and expect good things. That water runs from the north to south and as you know already... it comes out into the Gulf & into the Atlantic. The development has closed areas of the swamp and basically have strangled it. Money talks .. sad truth. 😎 One day all of South Florida will look like Miami, NY etc... 😡 lol
Absolutely amazing, what a great experience. Thanks for sharing!!!
Very unique... Just discovered your channel, thanks for the content! Sweet soundtrack too
Great video! Love your channel, glad you found Joe to introduce you to Gyroplanes!
Sweet, bro! How does a gyro feel in wind? Does it bounce around?
It takes turbulence and high winds very well and flies surprisingly smooth. The biggest differences I’ve noticed are incredibly short landings and small turn radiuses. It won’t hover without a headwind but you can slow it down to almost nothing. The way they turn around in the air is really cool, and they can do pretty much a vertical decent. I honestly think it would be very safe in an engine out
@@FloridaFlying It looks so free. Like a jet pack or a motorcycle for the sky.
I would NEVER mistake a flat, grassy plain for a JUNGLE.
Chris Pile I would never mistake a plane for being plain.

@@flybyairplane3528 >>> 👍👍
I stayed at Dan’s Airbnb hangar across the street, love that grass strip!
That’s the engine in my Honda Fit 😂
Wow great landscape thanks for the ride along.
I think gyros are the safest aircraft bar none , the bad ol' days of single seat self taught pilots are far behind us, sadly the numerous accidents from those times still leave folk a little hesitant of the safety of these wonderful machine's.
Hello From Palm Bay. FL. This would be amazing.
I'm Palm Bay to, what a great video
Absolutely beautiful. And the landscape was nice too.
I have 3 thoughts.
1. Phenomenal phlight!
2. A-MAAAA-zing hangar door!!
3. I have a question that might sound like I'm raining on the parade, but it's really not my intent. I'm genuinely interested in knowing the answer. Is the emergency checklist different and if so, how so, if you're sure you're going to have to set down in an alligator infested swamp? Also, what methods can you use to protect yourself from an alligator attack in that setting? I hope my questions don't bring the mood down, but I believe they're valid points that should be covered?
Thanks!!
Hmm well no Stewardess, by the looks of it.. that kinda sucks! Otherwise this looks like it could be a lot of fun :)
I bought an Air Command gyro yesterday, splitting hanger fees with a buddies Dad. I have PPL VFR rating but no experience in a gyro so I’m looking for gyro CFI’s around Nor Cal
Felt like I was in an air boat
That looks like a lot of fun but I can't help but imaging a 20 foot gator leaping out of the waters and got it's jaw wrap around that gyroplane when you guys were down near the water..
Glad you don't have any irrational fears.
-things leaping up at planes only happens in the movies... In all my years flying low and slow I found the only possible threat to be a flock of birds roused and rising into my flight path. A metal prop assured any hit would be lethal not to me, but a bird never struck. However, as a former flight instructor I pressed to always know the location of all high voltage and telephone wires. Like an expert. Religiously. Every location of these, invisible from the air, threats to your calm day. Proper training and preflight leaves flying one the safest enjoyments on earth. A much prettier earth when seen from above.
That was out in Geneva off Jungle road. I grew up like 1.5 miles from there. Beautiful. I was just kayaking on lake harney a few weeks ago

Road Warrior kept popping in my thoughts
Wow this is amazing. This is only possible in America I’m from Switzerland.
Great video I love it 😍 and we are living since six years in Florida.
me watches 0.1 seconds of vid. SIR YOUR HOUSE IS OPENING THIS SHIT SOME MOSTERHOUSE SHIT
In case anyone watching doesn't know about the gyroplane, it is NOT a helicopter. If you notice, they didn't take off or land vertically. That's because, amazingly, the large rotor over their heads is not connected to any motor at all. The propeller in the back pushes the craft forward and air flows through the large rotor causing it to spin. This actually makes lift. This principle is called auto-rotation, and is the reason why you can cut the engines in a helicopter mid-flight and still land it safely.
4:43 "This really looks like the jungle; the Serengeti."
It does look something like the Serengeti, but the Serengeti isn't a jungle, it's a "veld" or plain; a lightly-treed grassland. The name literally means "endless plains" in the Maasai language.
Спасибо Джо,вы отличный лётчик,удачи вам и всего только хорошего!Привет из России!
Very nice!
REAL NICE VIDEO.
Dude. UA-cam attached the most disgusting toenail fungus ad to your video. Absolutely disgusting.
Captain Midnight would've loved to have a lair like Joe's.
Mission impossible theme would have been much much better original mission impossible theme that is something believable not like that Tom Cruise everybody's gotta have a cartoon fucken to like a movie
It’s pronounced “hiro-plane” 😂
How do I meet Joe?
Mark Rogers I’m confused..
How do I meet the pilot. 😊
I can describe Florida's landscape in *ONE* word:

Which is a good thing during the "the engine just quit in my home built Gyrocopter " scenario
@@Bigsky1991 >>> Agreed...😊
Would love to get me one of them. It looks very practical, esp for an anphbious bush gyroplane.
It’s deceiving, flying low seems safer but it’s not. Flying higher is but even though I used to fly small planes this thing all open would scare the crap out of me. It’d take some getting used too.
okay, you earned another sub from me, that was a very cool flight, and thanks for taking me along! mike
