It feels like Japanese still not considering streaming or being a youtuber as having a job. As for the marriage and have a kid, well we have our own pace and choices.

For me, it's weird... I do feel pressure about work since I'm basically just employed by my parents to do menial work for menial money, but for marrying and stuff... I'm on my late 20's and few of my former classmates have married. Like in High School we were 350+ in a batch(10 years together since elementary so I know everyone) and very few have married. My college course had 160+ people in it and under 20 have married. I'm not just uninformed, I receive updates for lots of people in my batch(I was a "fake social butterfly") and very few have married. Somehow for our generation, age doesn't matter for marriage except for some women who get married because they might have pregnancy issues in their 30's(my cousin was pressured to do this). Well, I guess it depends on your country.
Like I say to everyone, fuck getting married. I think being by yourself and not having to waste money on anyone but you is the best. Think about it, why would you marry? what's the point? bringing kids to a world that's already overpopulated? Hell naw. I waste all my money on games and to upgrade my baby(PC) and Im happy. So just find what makes you happy and go by that, but dont get married, like seriously its not worth it hahaha.
Well, even streaming is harder than it looks. You have to constantly talk to an audience you can't really see, and keep the conversation going casually. If you're not entertaining enough, it leaves a bad impression and people will leave. You have to live up to expectations, and there's a chance of getting flamed if you don't. You also have to be active. Not being active is dangerous ngl. There are a few vtubers who don't stream often- whether it's because of jobs or whatever, and still get love. However, you won't be able to do it full time that way tbh. There's alot of factors that make being a vtuber/streamer hard, it's just that they're more well hidden tbh. The point is to make it look like they're living good lives. You have to struggle through and grow before you're able to get on the same level as big vtubers like Kanae or even Tsukino Mito herself. Either way,, I don't think Kanae can get married if he wants to keep his career ngl. He'd get flamed hard hhh
But Kanakana... Your job is literally to play games... Kidding aside, I really hope that the stigma that "You can't earn money through games" end really soon. I mean, everyone in the streaming industry are not too far off from actors and such.

It's moments like these that make me love Kanae even more. He's just so aware of his surroundings and his insights are really something else. From this little conversation, we are given food for thoughts about marriage, growing up, and employment. It's also interesting how he said his classmates are either getting married or getting jobs. It reminded me of that interview video in Asian Boss about the ideal age to get married in japan and how one of those interviewed said that from what they've observed, people from the countryside tend to marry in their early twenties while people in the city tend to marry later twenties to early thirties. I guess since KanaKana maybe from the former, he feels the combination of societal pressure, existential crisis, and nostalgia. Those feelings and thoughts, It's so relatable. 🥺 Seeing this, I really can't wait for his radio show to air. I bet it will be such a wholesome listen. ❤️

I feel like in Japan "self-employed" term doesn't exist. It looks like everyone believes that you have to go to a 9-5job to be successful in life but that's not it 😭😭 make your bank in your own way and go!
That's right.. there is still a tendency in Japan to think that company employees are the greatest, and some people look at people who don't go to the office in a funny way..
I honestly think he's in his early-twenties..Mostly because of that clip before when he said he cant imagine getting old saying that 27y/o was the 'limit' for him iirc...and also how he's good at competitive games usually people who are highly skilled in apex, etc are ~20 yrs or even lower...but that's just my observation I could be completely wrong lol
i think im kanae's age too so i kinda get how he's feeling im a freelance artist and i think i make enough doing commissions (until this burnout) but not having a corporate job or interest in starting a family makes me feel so bad about myself that i have to constantly prove to other people that hey i am making money (like what he said abt buying self affirmation) its so hard to shake the feeling that ppl think ur profession isnt real. i mean i dont make as much money as they'd like but im mostly happy with this job yknow
I had tears in my eyes at the first part and I still do. Kanae gets deep sometimes and I love that side of him, I'm sure his real-life parents are proud of him and tbh I hope Japan considers being a UA-camr a job because they earn lots from it. They can pay their rent and bills by just doing UA-cam, I mean that's a job so what's wrong with that. Anyways, I hope Kanae sees his influence on people and how he is such a good figure to the VTuber community.
@@vloveclipenglish4218 ikr :( I hope it gets of a more positive influence because Kanae and the vtubing community are actually helping Japan's influence other than anime and their rich culture.
haha tears go brrr. Now, setting aside the jokes. I literally got goosebumps while watching this. And when i reached 2:55 "yea, this is the kanae i know". but deep down he might still be feeling down about his loneliness or smth, (or maybe i was just over thinking it) Also.... Thanks for the Translation!
It's strange because in my country streaming or being a UA-camrs are a job. So when someone editing videos or filming something it's still count as a job. And Kanae able to buy a car, that's the real proof too. Lol. But I guess not all countries are like mine.
He's in the right place for now. Kanae can just be Kanae. He don't have to feel bad for not bringing home a wife and kid. Different ppl walk different lives after all and his specialty is gaming. But am not sure how vtubers earn money as soon as they hit their 40's when their popularity start to go down and are replaced by newer generations.
can relate to him to that big kid comment, me who is 31 years old, unmarried (not in my priority anyway), childless, got laid off due to covid, look for a job is a hard now because of the condition still not normal, the competition is also bigger. i felt like burden everyday since I can't support my parent like before and they sometimes rant that their retirement salary gets less and less.
thanks for the translation! kanae’s pretty level-headed about these things, but i don’t think anybody who sees how much work he puts into planning, collaborating and creating content could consider him a NEET.
He had us in the first half not gonna lie. Theres probably some truth in what he said in the first part but this is just a classic case of him trolling right? Lol
ideally, i think the whole point of pursuing a career/job should be something that you enjoy doing for fun to the point that it doesn't feel like work for you at all. deviating from the norm is something that is admittedly difficult to do which is why i admire all the streamers/vtubers out there. they didn't give in to societal pressure and still decided to pursue a path that was different from others. if i was in their position, i'd be too scared to take the leap but they all did it in a heartbeat. BIG RESPECT.
I can understand the thought. I find streaming and LPs or things relating to games, reviews and other mixed media to be under the blanket of "Entertainment". It isn't as big or well known/respected by the general public and probably won't be for a long time I find, as long as the person doing it is happy, able to support themselves, not harming theirself or others, then it's completely fine. It's like pursuing a hobby as a career. I can also relate to the buying gifts for others to affirm yourself. I'd started doing the same when I got my first full time job, like "This is how it should be, right?" I hope he doesn't think negatively on it in his own time. Especially being real like this, Kanae is an example to behold. May he continue to grow, doing the things he likes, and being happy doing them. Now if he could just- SLEEP! *(Distant yada's)*
Lmao i knew it! I had a feeling that it was going the way it did when Kanakana was asking Chihiro-chan if she didn't like the armour or did she not want to have matching armour with him XD And awww he feels bad for using superchats for other people because i think to him it's like a gift, and it's not polite to give a gift given to you to another person. Errr i think the "Low low low! Low low low! Loba!" should be "Loba" as in one of the characters you can play as in Apex, which one of his teammate who is also down is playing as, and not "rouba" actually.
Now this feels like a great example of how people stereotype what work is. In a way there is like an unconcious norm for majority of people to think that work is something that should not be enjoyed or it is something that you really don't want to do. Like that is the traditional way of how people view real job is. Since there is only a minority who actually found their job enjoyable, fulfilling and fun. Especially if it deviate from the norm of usual office work and stuff it is more often viewed as not a real job. So I say Kanae I am just happy you to found a job that you really enjoyed and many people also enjoy also what you do. So it's good! Arigatogozaimasu!!! *Kuzuha immediately pops up on my head. Hahaha!
We are good at something and we are bad at something. That's just how life is. You are good at this, Kanae! And this is work too! But yeah I know how you feel. Sometimes, even if we are actually happy at where we are now, we can't help but think of where we could have been.
For everyone that read this, don't let the world tell your idea of fun is wrong. You decide what's your fun and don't even think that your fun that make your life miserable, choose the people that have the same fun like you do. The world sometimes can be cruel but don't forget that it'll always be cruel, the internet is the same... People like me are always there for you, let's have fun together. Goodluck tommorow and I wish you well xD
Y'now, I can't speak Japanese and all, but I'm gonna say it. It's about the freakin' gravity bro. Like, you're floating there. In the gaming world. It's heavy in the adult world. And you know it. I don't even know what's a failure at this point. Because if you work, you work for people. It's that kind of feeling. But in your line of work, you have fun broooo. It's called being resourceful and a hedonist. I don't mean it as the bad hedonism, but the "I'll do it as a person" one. THEY HAVE WIVES AND MONEY. BUT ARE THEY PROFESSIONAL GAMERS? It's that kind of feeling. Depends on you. But man, superchat kinda feels illegal. I experienced that too. Not in superchat though, it's heavier. IN SUMMARY: You have too much pleasure and money, you feel it's illegal, and the effort and reward of others compared to yourself(with kind of lesser effort) is guilt tripping.
I'm working and all but honestly, I'm still a kid. My friends all have family or relationship while me is still single (never got relationship) enjoying watching anime and vtubers. The only thing I have is I work. I work but mostly just to survive a day. It's sad life but I don't want to have a "normie" life for the sake of it. For now, I just want to enjoy what I like to do.
I'm sad that i know the superchat not all of it go to him, cause youtube take a little bit of the viewer superchat (english is not my first languange, sorry if any of you who read this comment misunderstanding anything)
if you get money when doing something, you're working. Getting 'free' money from parents are not considered working unless you're doing something for it or like working with them.
Your utmost priority is to love yourself, Kanae-kun!!! You don't have to get married out of duty (and since its easier for men to get married late. It's different for women though as they often have trouble getting pregnant at their thirties) and as long as you can pay your own bills you're having an actual job! His line of thoughts is so matured I think he must have gone through so much in his life 😔 Btw he's husband material if you forget about his gambling habit and his love for his aibou lol
Well, HELLO!!! I'm self-employed here..... You know what... I sold food online such as western foods or the local foods and I opened everyday except Friday and Saturday... and sometimes I also doing the catering and yeah I'm FINE here... But cuz of this covid the pandemic there and here but still I got many customers (not so many actually but yeah it's 'mama desu' I used japanese term😂😂😂) Lol hahah but anyways.... I'm doing FINE here!!! Self-employed is good tho 👍👍👍👍
I might be the minority but i do think it's kind of... "bad" for an established streamer who already earn a bank to have superchat/donation as his/her main income... it's like taking donation as someone that doesn't need it. Donation originally existed for people to support streamers that can't afford equipment or can't do it full time so they can give better content for the fans, but it now changed as a way for people to show their obsession with the streamer or to "show off" their "love", it's kinda the same reason people spend so much on anime game gacha and gacha is honestly a bit unethical. This is exclusive to Japan/vtuber too, other "normal" content creators don't usually have donation as main income, it's usually subscription, ad revenue, and sponsorship, and donation is just side income.
So fast, I was watching this stream since I miss seeing his Octane even if I don't understand much of what he's saying ;-; -If I'm not wrong he also talked about graduating as vtuber right? Per chat, it was not anything serious so no need to worry. Hope this part also gets translated-
I kinda understand what he's feeling about the part where he's uncomfortable to use all of the Superchats he received because I actually kinda experienced the same thing, when someone gave you something grand even though you didn't do anything, when you cheated on your exams and get a full score because of this ( I'm not trying to point it out to Kanae, I experienced that way before and the feeling is kinda the same ) It felt kinda weird when receiving something grand that you didn't worked hard for. But in his case, he also worked hard for those Superchats... Everyone may be saying that being a Vtuber must be easy coz' you have to sit all day doing nothing yet your earning money but that's not actually true. Being Vtuber is hard than you'd expected, you just don't sit and play games for hours because you have to do everything to entertain your viewers at the same time, you must be funny, entertaining and not boring... because of that viewers gave them superchats in order to grab their attention and also to support the Vtubers. I'm not really knowledgeable about Vtubers and stuff but that's the thing I just thought when Kanae mentioned about it, if possible I could give him a hug right now and say 'it's alright because you worked hard for it and you deserve it' 🥰
Man that was the biggest "They had us in the first half, not gonna lie" moment lmao. Never change Kanae

As for the marriage and have a kid, well we have our own pace and choices.
Not just in Japan. I feel like it's like this in many countries
I think it's because Japan has terms like shut-ins and NEETS. In the west, people are more accepting of gamers and introverts.
It might also be a matter of job security. For performance based jobs without a steady salary or insurance benefits like artists, musicians, vtubers, etc. I can see why parents would be worried and prefer their children having a "real" job.

I thinkkkk we all kinda estimate him to be around his mid twenties already
24 to 26 yrs old. Possible.
I honestly think he's in his early-twenties..Mostly because of that clip before when he said he cant imagine getting old saying that 27y/o was the 'limit' for him iirc...and also how he's good at competitive games usually people who are highly skilled in apex, etc are ~20 yrs or even lower...but that's just my observation
I could be completely wrong lol
@@zee-ee7ue I also saw in he's profile in wiki that there's a possibility that he's in early 20's. 🤷♀️
He said that he’s in his early 20s
i think im kanae's age too so i kinda get how he's feeling
im a freelance artist and i think i make enough doing commissions (until this burnout) but not having a corporate job or interest in starting a family makes me feel so bad about myself that i have to constantly prove to other people that hey i am making money (like what he said abt buying self affirmation)
its so hard to shake the feeling that ppl think ur profession isnt real. i mean i dont make as much money as they'd like but im mostly happy with this job yknow
Nice comment, thank you
I had tears in my eyes at the first part and I still do.
I cried too.
There are too many people in Japan who think negatively about UA-cam.
@@vloveclipenglish4218 ikr :( I hope it gets of a more positive influence because Kanae and the vtubing community are actually helping Japan's influence other than anime and their rich culture.
I don't know what future holds but I for one wish him happiness
Yes!
Salute to Kanae! Mad respect! Kanae ...alone...weak...fans and Kanae together...strong!
salute!
haha tears go brrr.
Now, setting aside the jokes.
I literally got goosebumps while watching this.
And when i reached 2:55
"yea, this is the kanae i know".
but deep down he might still be feeling down about his loneliness or smth,
(or maybe i was just over thinking it)
Also....
Thanks for the Translation!
Nice work! thank you!
that BABY got me
thanks for the translation
BABY! Thank you!
It's strange because in my country streaming or being a UA-camrs are a job. So when someone editing videos or filming something it's still count as a job. And Kanae able to buy a car, that's the real proof too. Lol. But I guess not all countries are like mine.
japan is stuck in 60 years ago they dont even think music bands have real jobs
Japan has a negative attitude toward UA-camrs..
@@sinasafari7349 my gosh musician is not a job?? *Shocked 😱
@@vloveclipenglish4218 ah i see... That's why is not counting as a job. Thanks for the information
Hopefully he earns enough money so that he can live comfortably for the rest of his life.
I wonder how long UA-cam will last..
can relate to him to that big kid comment, me who is 31 years old, unmarried (not in my priority anyway), childless, got laid off due to covid, look for a job is a hard now because of the condition still not normal, the competition is also bigger. i felt like burden everyday since I can't support my parent like before and they sometimes rant that their retirement salary gets less and less.
Please do your best..
thanks for the translation! kanae’s pretty level-headed about these things, but i don’t think anybody who sees how much work he puts into planning, collaborating and creating content could consider him a NEET.
yes! yes!
He had us in the first half not gonna lie. Theres probably some truth in what he said in the first part but this is just a classic case of him trolling right? Lol
Thank you for translating another kanae's story I love it so much
another kanae, haha thank you!
Aww Kanakana ; ; ; ; The first few minutes made me tear up, but as expected it's half-joke wwww
awwww
ideally, i think the whole point of pursuing a career/job should be something that you enjoy doing for fun to the point that it doesn't feel like work for you at all. deviating from the norm is something that is admittedly difficult to do which is why i admire all the streamers/vtubers out there. they didn't give in to societal pressure and still decided to pursue a path that was different from others. if i was in their position, i'd be too scared to take the leap but they all did it in a heartbeat. BIG RESPECT.
BIG RESPECT!
I can understand the thought. I find streaming and LPs or things relating to games, reviews and other mixed media to be under the blanket of "Entertainment". It isn't as big or well known/respected by the general public and probably won't be for a long time
I find, as long as the person doing it is happy, able to support themselves, not harming theirself or others, then it's completely fine. It's like pursuing a hobby as a career.
I can also relate to the buying gifts for others to affirm yourself. I'd started doing the same when I got my first full time job, like "This is how it should be, right?"
I hope he doesn't think negatively on it in his own time. Especially being real like this, Kanae is an example to behold. May he continue to grow, doing the things he likes, and being happy doing them.
Now if he could just- SLEEP!
*(Distant yada's)*
YES! SLEEP!
Low! haha
Hahaha!
Ty for the translation!!!!
Btw i think for 0:11, he said Loba(one of the apex legends)
Oops, Loba! Sorry..!
I was crying. Then he say "did it sounds real?"
Im relieves he's not sad
dmn, that's sad
I thought he was joking, but seems like he wasn't.... and
I ACTUALLY GOT TRICKED AGAIN LOL
LOVE HIM
3:25 aww i'm so happy for him
We are good at something and we are bad at something. That's just how life is. You are good at this, Kanae! And this is work too!
But yeah I know how you feel. Sometimes, even if we are actually happy at where we are now, we can't help but think of where we could have been.
Ya! this is work!
Thanks for translating! Interesting to see his thoughts
You're welcome, thank you
that gift tax is a scam.
Thank you so much for translating this!!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the clip and translation! I feel like these are important real life stuff and it feels nice to relate to someone you look up to.
Wow, great comment.. thank you
@@vloveclipenglish4218 Everyone deserved it... You're welcome
thank you for the tl! ♡♡
Thank you!
Damn this was so funny without even understanding anything. I lmaod so hard during the stream.
nice comment!
I love how he always uses a narrating voice when he talks about something serious but at the same time, wants to joke🤭
joke, haha
Thank you for translating i didn't understand what he said during the live😁
You're welcome! Thank you!
It's that kind of feeling-
Hope your comment gets more views!
I was streaming that time I don't understand a single thing which makes me sad that this is what he saying the whole time 😭
Ohhh..
The splash damage..
wow..
I'm sad that i know the superchat not all of it go to him, cause youtube take a little bit of the viewer superchat
(english is not my first languange, sorry if any of you who read this comment misunderstanding anything)
You mean that not all of their viewers are from Japan and because they come from outside they can’t understand him?.
Nijisanji takes a cut too I think
Nice comment!
0:10 He meant Loba, the female character not "wife". It was a pun (wordplay) with "low"
That last part was unexpected
LOL
This convo gave me mixed feeling, not abt the existential crisis tho, the whole time I was thinking "kanakana is trolling again isnt he"
Hmm
0:05 my dogs at 1am
Nice work
Too real Kanae , too real
real!!
ARIGATOU NE, BEIIIBI
BEIBI
if you get money when doing something, you're working. Getting 'free' money from parents are not considered working unless you're doing something for it or like working with them.
That's right
9:33 imma leave it here
In the beginning i don't think he says "Rouba"
I think he's saying the name of the female character of one of his teammates, who is Loba.
😭
oh..
9:33 im just gonna drop this
Your utmost priority is to love yourself, Kanae-kun!!! You don't have to get married out of duty (and since its easier for men to get married late. It's different for women though as they often have trouble getting pregnant at their thirties) and as long as you can pay your own bills you're having an actual job!
His line of thoughts is so matured I think he must have gone through so much in his life 😔
Btw he's husband material if you forget about his gambling habit and his love for his aibou lol
That's right! Kanae is too kind..
kanae
kanaeee
Ooh I never thought of that
oh kanae :(
oh..
So fast, I was watching this stream since I miss seeing his Octane even if I don't understand much of what he's saying ;-;
-If I'm not wrong he also talked about graduating as vtuber right? Per chat, it was not anything serious so no need to worry. Hope this part also gets translated-
Nice!
I mean, it's obvious that it's a script. The sudden change in pronouns from 'boku' to 'ore', and all that.
Very nice!
I wonder how the guys from OTV + Friends are succesful. They spend a crap ton of money on gacha games and other stuff
hmm..
Does anyone know the name of the sad music in the background when he was apologising to his mom
I'm sorry. I'd like to know, too.
I kinda understand what he's feeling about the part where he's uncomfortable to use all of the Superchats he received because I actually kinda experienced the same thing, when someone gave you something grand even though you didn't do anything, when you cheated on your exams and get a full score because of this ( I'm not trying to point it out to Kanae, I experienced that way before and the feeling is kinda the same )
It felt kinda weird when receiving something grand that you didn't worked hard for.
I'm not really knowledgeable about Vtubers and stuff but that's the thing I just thought when Kanae mentioned about it, if possible I could give him a hug right now and say 'it's alright because you worked hard for it and you deserve it' 🥰
Don't worry I'll join your superchat when I get a job to help you pay bills and your addiction to gacha games ;;
Wow! How nice!
