      Nope Terry Silver has other secrets he has not revealed to Daniel Larusso. Besides I'm writing an alternate storyline to the cobra kai season 5 ending. I'll keep you posted when it's done. Anything can happen in today's era. I'm built differently. Silver has a power kick move that can break boulders plus he has the silver bullet which breaks an opponents ribs.

    And people wonder why he was more traumatized by Silver and not Chozen... because with Silver, he really did corrupt Daniel into not trusting Miyagi for a good bit of the film and because of that, Daniel was left astray until he realized that he was in the wrong headspace. With Chozen, yeah he wanted to kill him, but he still had the entire village in Okinawa and Mr. Miyagi behind him. He wasn't corrupted... so I can understand why Daniel would be more traumatized by Silver than Chozen

      I really like your analysis. Silver really did corrupt Daniel. Kinda led him away from all the good things in his life and tricked him with inadequacy, then made him question his trust in everything. Where as with Chozen it felt like more of a jealousy vendetta. Glad Cobra Kai continued this and elaberated on it.

      Ideally he would but originally the idea was to reveal himself to Daniel during the tournament as Mikes sponsor. This would cause extreme confusion and throw Daniel off balance in the tournament. The training was actually legit but it was done under false pretenses.
      He gave Danny boy quality cobra kai training. But if he showed corning Mike, that would confuse Daniel. That and Terry was training Mike to counter the moves he was teaching to Daniel. This was shown when Daniel went for a sweep and Mike countered it during the reveal scene.

If everything in this movie is so bad, why the lines are so impactful and the tv show with the same crew is one of the most watched series in the US 30 years later? Why does the plot still work? I always said Karate Kid is a great movie, with a great ending. Good to be right lol

    • @MorganKing95
      @MorganKing95 Місяць тому

      It works in "Cobra Kai" because it's put into a different context now. Here, we have a movie about a random millionaire karate Vietnam veteran, who's harassing a teenager without any proper reason or motivation, and where the tournament is just going straight to the final battle, the latter in return consisting of "1 point, point deduction, 1 point, point deduction etc." before an underwhelming finishing throw from the protagonist. Plus, we had to deal with a bonsai shop and friendship subplot that don't go anywhere, and where the protagonist is completely insufferable
      And just for the record, I watched this movie on DVD when I was 11, long before "Cobra Kai" was even thought about, and I always considered this entry very weak
