This is the only REAL review that I have found for the Palette 2 so far. Excellent video. All the others have been unboxing or first prints. This was very comprehensive and even handed. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, both good and bad.
@@3DPIceland I have to second that. I was interested in the palette 2 since it was released and just couldn't find anyone who had a decent review of it, with some feedback on how it would perform long term. Thanks so much for this thorough review!
Marteinn, thank you for the review! We appreciate that you were so comprehensive in your review (trying lots of different modes, commenting on support & documentation, trying CANVAS & Chroma, experimenting with different filaments and splicing, and even tuning in to our live streams). We are glad you had success with your Palette 2, and we're grateful for you taking the time to discover Palette.
Those are some really beautiful prints! I know vase mode is practically cheating, but dang, those vases with those colors with that filament using the Palette 2 look stunning! I definitely think the way the Palette works is the best way to achoice multi color/multi material 3D printing. I hope they sell a ton of them so the tech and price can come down a little. I mean... the tech in these things is absolutely worth the price.... I just can't justify it at the moment. :(
Thank you. I used sli3r Prusa Edition, nd Croma for most parts, - the Canvas online slicer was not in very good shape at the time I was doing the review.
you mean a clip of how it goes though the purge block and starts with a clean color. I probably can do a clip on that with my phone, - watch my twitter feed for that one.
I had several older filaments, not bound to any brand as such. If it brakes easaly in you hand, then that one could also brake in the p2 filament path as it is rather bendy. - Haven't tried ngen, but I don't see why it would not work, just create a profile for it , might need more heat than pla profile.
Please please do a video on how to use the P2 with a MK3 and Slicer PE with octoprint. I'm going to buy a P2 but I'm very confused how I would produce multicolored prints with Slic3r PE
thank you. I don't have the Prusa MMU to tell you in my experiense, but I wanted a device that I could use on all my printers, not only the prusas, and that's something the Palette can do. I don't have the prices in my mind , shipping varies also.

Thank you guys, really am happy with the device and I hope that showed though the video.
Excellent review Marteinn. Lots of different applications for the Palette 2 were demonstrated!
Thank you Ron, I tried my best to cover as much as I could in the review :)

Great video review. Comprehensive..
Thank you Noroo
Really well done review! Did you use Canvas or Chroma, or another slicer for the prints?
Thank you. I used sli3r Prusa Edition, nd Croma for most parts, - the Canvas online slicer was not in very good shape at the time I was doing the review.
I want to see a video where it transitions colors during a print

Thank you for this review! What brittle filament was a challenge and do you think ngen will work?

3DP Iceland Thanks!

Yes, videos on that are on the to-do list :), I will to go through my settings in Slic3r PE in one video, and my workflow in another.
Thanks for the review! What are the advantages over the Prusa multi material upgrade? It is much more expensive...

Alsolute cool Marteinn , wish I had the Money to Buy one , that would help me out with all my rest Spools
Thank you Don, - yea, it costs a bit, but for me I think it was worth it :)
