Brother we should all not forget that both countries coincides pretty much same culture as it was our land from this side & that side this culture this higher intellect & rich music is all part of both the sides.. It's just a partition on land & the leaders who chose to divide but they can't divide what is eternal.
@@zara__xd Mr @Someone here i mean the culture of music & art not a culture practice preferred by any community. Hence, please understand the point & chill!
Abida Parveen is the first singer I saw who kind of made me realize that a song is also another way of painting or playing with the space. Her hand movements are always such a pleasure to watch. I discovered later that she is also an elite painter and I have to say that didn't surprise me at all! She is one of the best artist alive at the moment and whatever we can hear from her is a treasure to be cherished...Have to still say though that nothing has surpassed her Sufi essence more than 'Raqs-e-Bismal'...still use that sometimes to calm myself down to a peaceful sleep.
Honestly, I liked this first track, but 'Mehram' stole my heart this season. I don't think there will be another track of such perfection this season, although the rest of the songs have all been really good so far, but 'Mehram' is peak transcendence. The two vocalists have soooo much harmony and soul, it's the perfect combination of lyrics, vocals and visuals. I've been listening to that track non stop and can't stop singing it for the past few days. Arooj's voice is the most haunting and lingering voice I've heard in Coke Studio thus far, and thats a very powerful testament to how amazing she sounds.
Mehram from Season 14 was the absolute best for me. It stole my heart and fed it back to me. It made me bawl like a baby. The song is perfection. Pakistani coke studio outdid themselves this time.
Guys hang in there… each song this season is so different, including with visual and auditory vibes… and one evokes deep sadness, the mirror image of Tu Jhoom… but amazing new level for live performance
You guys need to listen to Kana Yaari, the next on Coke Studio release. First female rapper of Pakistan is performing in it. This season is dropping a bomb every Tuesday.
i think you should check the behind the scene videos titled "the magical journey" for each of these coke studio videos in the same video you hear the song. it is INCREDIBLEE the work they are doing to make each of these videos for this season
Every season has a different music producer, this year it’s Zulfiqar “Xulfi”. He also worked on Nescafe basement. My favorite is Rohail Hyatt. He was the producer of most of the early seasons and season 12 & 13. My second best are Ali Hamza and Zohaib kazi for season 11 And even though they are last in the list they are awesome as well, The Band Strings has produced many great songs. So you can say coke studio has had 4 music producers over the year and each with a different styles - Rohail Hyatt - Strings the band. (Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia ) - Ali Hamza and Zohaib Kazi -Zulfiqar “Xulfi” (current music producer) Each has their own unique season. Edit: Rohail Hyatt has most of the early seasons of coke studio on his own UA-cam channel. “Rohail Hyatt.” The songs even have English subtitles. Miyan ki Malhaar is a great one! Most if not all of coke studio Pakistan on their own UA-cam channel have English subs, so it’s great to watch their videos and understand the meanings. Also the ones on Rohail Hyatt own UA-cam channel have English subs and behind the scene stuff. Coke studio Pakistan and coke studio India are different. Most of coke studio India’s video unfortunately gets blocked when people try to react. But Ki banu duniya da from coke studio India is great too.
Yes, you guys are right, it is a very spiritual experience with this song. The meaning of Jhoom is to sway back and forth. Here, the dancers are also portraying the spiritual ecstacy state of mind by swaying in a stupor of religious worship and devotion.
They can sing with cross legs because from childhood they have been taught to sit in that position. In ancient India, people have been enlightened by meditating on cross legs just like Buddha. So they have practised like this, that it became the nature of the body itself for generations. you can check anywhere in india, in music school teachers first tells us to sit cross legs then practice ragas for hours then teach us music lesson.

Hi to both of you, thanks for the reaction. This is one song that we all should listen to and feel its dept. Its lyrics are specially written and beautifully preform by our Pakistani legends for each and every one of us in this world. Thank you Coke Studio for this glorious masterpiece.
I was just waiting for it.... i was waiting for you two to react to this track.... This is one of the best Coke Studio compositions for sure I feel. 14 years of following Coke Studio and this one truly moved me from lyrics to vocals and composition. I thought I would miss Rohail Hyatt producing the new season but Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan has proved his amazing ability of combining sounds, vocals and visuals in such an amazing way with all the tracks so far. Loving this season.
India and Pakistan both have inherited the heritage of exceeding levels of classical music that goes beyond the call of border politics. It's important for both of them to continue coke studio in its own. Because that's what music is. It must calm you. Synthesised music is the culture now but even then good vocals is sought after. Still years of training is given to children right from 5 years of age. Singing with cross legged starts from the beginning itself. We infact find it easy. It's not tough here. 🙏

Sure, it's fascinating to talk about technicalities when you're exploring new music but these few rare pieces really do make you forget that you're sitting in an apartment !
I was checking the reactions of this channel. In many cases I found reactors are amazed by sitting arrangement (crossing of legs) while singing. In India & obviously in Pakistan & Bangladesh, when someone first starts to learn singing this is the usual method. Sitting on floor / or any place with harmonium, a new learner starts vocal exercise. Generally guru or teacher sits on the opposite sides of the students with the legs crossed. In music schools this is still the most common method of teaching music to new learners.
Of the 4 songs in the current season of coke studio, I love 3 of them (1, 2 and 4). For some reason the atif aslam and momina didn't click with me. But what I'm loving is that each song is so different. I hope you do react to the rest and thank you so much for taking our suggestions in to consideration 😊💚
Each song will have a new set as you will find out in the next video, you guys need to keep up, they are dropping them left, right and center. Every song is a new gem so far this season, live music videos, plus the reason why CS has always been awesome is that it introduced the hidden Pakistani talent to the world, including the masses of Pakistan, so Xulfi giving the reins of the show to the youth literally fits that narrative, all the sweet goodness of CS with a flair that attracts younger audience as well. Great reaction again guys, I guess that's the creative genius as well. Be ready for another masterpiece in the next one.🇵🇰❤️

Agreed that sitting down and singing is harder from a technical view. As a Pakistani American, when I sang for cover rock bands, I used to stand up and and place one of my foot on my mic box to expand my diaphragm.
Glad to see you guys came back to Coke Studio! Tu Jhoom isn’t what the translation shows but simply just an invocation to sway and dance your worries away.
Actually, sitting cross- legged is a very relaxing and stable posture. The back is straight but not strained, the muscle and tissues don't get stretched and the heart doesn't have to work very hard to pump the blood to the extremities of the body. This is the reason why meditating for long hours and many yoga asanas are done using this posture, as is eating food in many Asian cultures. If one overcomes the seemingly difficult looking idea of sitting cross- legged, it is the one of the best ways to do anything without straining of muscles. :)
Finally after three months, you have a chance to react on the Coke Studio. I liked this song from the new season, but it seems that now they are focussing on the visuals more, probably to get the younger audience, but as a serious music lover, I prefer the style of the previous seasons, which focussed more on the singers and the musicians, which is admired all around the world (East & West both). The Vocal Mastery is the key to the popularity of the Pakistani singers. I am not into the modern movie music from the subcontinent, with shallow lyrics and the compositions, for stupid dance moves. I like the music with the touch of Folk, Ghazal, Sufi, and Semi Classical, which touches the heart and soul, like (Tu Jhoom) . Please react to Nusrat fateh ali khan| best raag & Sargam whatsapp status , 3,480,456 views, Sep 15, 2020 ( No lyrics or titles ; 3:23 minutes) ; Also, the Coke Studio Season 10| NAINA MORAY| Javed Bashir & Akbar Ali feat. You might have already noticed that all our classical musicians use sitting positions only..... I never thought about your analysis on how it affects singing as for us it is common as in classical music sitting posture is also used for tala (tap on lap) or as a support to few instruments (Veena , Tambura) I am not a musical expert... above reaction is only as a music lover and own obesrvations.

This season, the production is on another level... It all happened live.. You can watch the BTS of these songs... Plus, Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan aka xulfi/Zulfi will take people on a rollercoaster ride with his immense experience in music. Fingers crossed.. P.s you both look amazing 👍🏼
So the word "jhoom" by itself means to dance in trance of one's inner feeling. The meanings you see on screen are the ones the word conveys in connection with the lyrics it's meaning to complement. Which is why it seems to have so many meanings and far more elaborate meanings than what a single word by itself means. The word "Tu" means you by the way. Hope this helps. Glad you liked it, Keep it up 👍🏽
Jhoom literally means to swing/sway, especially in a trance. Tu means you. So Tu jhoom literally means you should sway in a trance. The translation in the lyrics is the metaphorical meaning of the term used in the song. That in a trance you transcend into a higher realm spiritually. All the songs in Coke Studios 14 are original tracks, not covers. Zulfi, the producer this year, is the guy behind Nescafe Basement, and he focuses alot on experimenting with progressive sounds and backs up alot of the newer talent. Giving the younger lot a chance and exposure to the limelight
I really recommend Bhanvari Devi and Hard Kaur's song "Kattey", from Coke Studio India. It is more of th "old traditional music with modern sensibilities" vibe you like so much. Hard Kaur is an Indian-British rapper, and Bhanvari Devi has an amazingly powerful and raw voice, singing in the Rajasthani folk style. All with modern arrangement, of course.
Please listen to Max Changmin's latest releases: - Devil MV (AKA SOTY) - Maniac promotional video (it is basically an mv) - Fever stage performance Everything about this mini album is straight up ART!

Tu jhoom is essentially You swirl, like the swirling dervishes of Turkey. It is essentially a Sufi dancing to a trance. Spiritual love between human and God
I think she stopped analyzing the singing at 13:31 hahaha the head scratching hahahah but very well done I like the way described the sitting down technique. Impressive
Enjoy the beauty of the land of the pure. Pakistan: Land of the Pure. This is Sufi music. It's about connection to the creator. Hence the sublime energy.
hi siblings, another perspective: jhoom literally means to sway, in this case swaying in a trance, in another plane beyond the material world (think twirling dervishes)

You guys are wonderfull. 6 song of season 14 have been released . But MEHRAM is the most loved one which is 4th one in a row
Coke studio always record all its songs in one take no cuts this is one of its speciality through out all seasons of it
THIS SEASON IS ON FIRE THIS SEASON IS CHANGED
WE WANT MORE REACTION ON COKE STUDIO SEASON 14 PLEASE
Her voice makes the heart melt.
You should react to all coke studio 14 songs
Tu jhoom literally means to sway but the subtitles was showing its interpretation....that amazing.....
Aamir Zaki 4,100,403 views, Sep 1, 2017 (10:10 minutes). Please do both in the same show. Thanks
You might have already noticed that all our classical musicians use sitting positions only..... I never thought about your analysis on how it affects singing as for us it is common as in classical music sitting posture is also used for tala (tap on lap) or as a support to few instruments (Veena , Tambura)
I am not a musical expert... above reaction is only as a music lover and own obesrvations.
This whole season is masterpiece ❤ everything is unique in this every song has different set different vibe and the good thing is lots of young talent in this season ❤
A smile suddenly comes on my face when i open youtube and see your video reacting to a Pakistani song, you guys are simply Brilliant . btw i have a suggestion/request for you to review Hairan Hua by Sanam Marvi (Coke Studio) ...
Great reaction. Such an inspirational video this is. Feeling so inspired and positive after this video, thanks! Listening to this song.
Tu Jhoom speaks about humility and selflessness. Coke Studio hits refresh and takes off with vocal powerhouses Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal in perfect sonic harmony. The implications of the lyrics of Tu Jhoom are far and wide and this is a perfect start to #CokeStudio14. Listening and watching the first song from #cokestudio14 and I have nothing but love and appreciation for our music and our musicians! Coke studio is our export to the world. Absolutely breathtaking.

Guys u r so amazingly talented and kind and so much more ..see this is wt we call music and we r celebrating it .. be it from any place ..
very beautiful reaction would love to see more stuff from coke studio .
All with modern arrangement, of course.
they should also do the "saathi salaam" "husna" and "chadd de" as those are the masterpieces can't get away from my mind from the CS INDIA! ♥️
I know Abida Parveen very well. She is amazing singer.. She is a good student of Classical music of Pakistan.
Please listen to Max Changmin's latest releases:
- Devil MV (AKA SOTY)
- Maniac promotional video (it is basically an mv)
- Fever stage performance
Everything about this mini album is straight up ART!
