Dang so I’ve been playing Halo 5 all winter break and I got up to onyx, but I thought I was too addicted so I didn’t take it now back to college, now I’m seeing a 1v1 game type and I wanna kick myself for not bringing it.
@Flash yeah the reason I've been stuck at onyx is because of a lack of good positioning I can outgun low tier champs 6/10 times if we have equal positioning but they tend to be positioned better than me and know the spawns too. but I still wanna try this regardless if I get spanked or crush at this gametype.
That mode sucks wang. All I wanted was the ability to matchmake 1v1's on the smaller maps. Instead we got a bunch of subpar forge maps and rounds (that barely seem to even matter seeing as you can win two rounds and still lose). And it seems nobody even knows that because they will literally get one kill and then try to hide for dear life until the round expires because they still care about their rank in a dead game lol Points for trying 343. But you tried too hard on this one.

If they had simply asked the community (or what remains of it) what they wanted, chances are they wouldn't have voted for some convoluted 1v1 version of breakout. But they'd never do that. It'd make far too much sense. Since H3 if somebody asked you to 1v1, that shit would be Br's/pistol and maybe snipe on a friggin octagon. It didn't have to be this complicated.

This logic is why I stopped making any effort to appeal to the competitive Halo community. If it isn’t a developer map, it’s never good enough. Halo maps are Quake inspired, especially early Halo maps. Quake has a good system to incentivize 1v1, so we take influence from it, because Halo 5 rewards a lack of movement and sound whoring. Youre upset because we have weapons on the map you don’t like? Don’t pick them up. How does it hurt your experience?
So many people complain about camping, first off it's not camping. Just learn how to deal with said "campers" it's really not hard given that it's a horrible strategy.
Who the fuck cares if you dont get a riot or perfection?! Maybe talk about the playlist maps, fairness to both players for map spawns, how the 1v1 playlist feels?
At @3:46, in the first game you walked out of the teleporter and he walked past you on the left hand side. Must be a silent door. Edit: 1v1 definitely needs a killcam.
My opinion of this mode is that it is good but some things are to OP, the radar thing is kinda ridiculous as it will encourage camping and all that cheesiness.
These aren't even close to the best maps in the community for 1v1s, don't let this playlist leave a bad taste in your mouth. Check out these maps: Trinket, Keep Up, Penrose, Northern Darkness, After hours

They are ugly and depressive? Thats pretty damn harsh. BTB forge maps were only forced into matchmaking because 343 decided not to ship any themselves. You should be glad there are forgers willing to pick up the slack of the developers.
I had the worst experience on this... I placed Plat 3, right? And I went on a seven win streak then ranked up plat 4. Then... I lost two games and I went all the way back to plat 2... Like how is that even fair? Like how?! Never playing this crap ever again.
Yes the ranks move VERY slow in this. Throw in that it's a brand new mode, which means it takes even longer to adjust. After winning 43 times in a row I think I finished Diamond 5 lol
Glad to see I'm not the only one who was reminded of Unreal Tournament / Quake with the Head - To - Head maps. We need these maps for Free For All I think. :P

There just isn't content to make. Halo 5 is on its FOURTH YEAR. When there are new things, I show them off, but that's not often. And it's because I respect the UA-cam audience that I set the bar high and avoid uploading terrible content. That will change with Infinite. I could also start uploading different games and have a ton of fresh content but then people would also complain about them not being Halo. It's worth mentioning that I haven't made a dime from YT in months now, and videos take a long time to make.
Ok I gotcha. I appreciate the reply. I thought for sure that doing UA-cam kept the lights on at your place but I wasn't sure. I don't mean to be hyper critical. I'm just a long time fan of your Halo content. Wish I could have seen you play titanfall back in the day. I'm guessing that with all the fast movement in that game you were pretty good.

your reticle isn't even over the other player every time you are surprised you didn't hit them or saying your hit reg is bad. It seems like all these smaller halo youtubers are always in denial when they don't play as well as others. Videos are much more enjoyable to watch without all the denial.
If you understand Halo 5, you know that shots should connect even if a little off target to make up for the immense movement speed. Go watch Aozolai's bullet magnetism video to understand it better. I don't condone it, but it's how the game is, and it's a simple matter of having expectations for certain actions The point is, there are clear times when I'm shooting on target (like that one time where I slowed it down because it was so obvious) and it's just not connecting. There are other times where I'm just frustrated. Sorry it this "denial" affected whether or not the video was ENJOYABLE, but keep in mind whatever frustration you had while watching I had multiple times worse while recording. Consider watching a robot's videos if emotions bother you
