Superb. I’m amazed Peter Green and his Fleetwood Mac group doesn’t get more credit. This should have far more views. Green was a genius. Life destroyed by drugs.
What a masterpiece! Underpinned by 3 wonderful guitar players. The piece is simple yet intricate and the wonderful interplay is what makes it a masterpiece. Only Fleetwood Mac with the 3 leading guitar players could pull this off.
Yeah it was very cool too by the original cat who wrote the melody they “borrowed”. Back in 1957. Chuck Berry. “Deep feeling”. Would have been an easy lawsuit win today. !!
Well if I'm not mistaken, it would appear 4 guitarists, the bass gets no mention and very little coverage, yet is very crucial to the whole feel of this musical masterpiece
@@gardenrose264 Probably some people don't understand why they are on this earth. And because of this, terrible things happen instead of love and creation.
I was 13 years old and my 25 year old Aunt used to play this constantly. I just found it! Thank you!!! This is the back ground music of my life. 1969 was perfect.
Mon épouse avait décidé que ce morceau sera celui joué lors de ses funérailles et j'ai accompli son désir et lorsque j'écoute ce morceau je pense à elle.
This song reminds me of my grandpa he liked fleet wood Mac I used to sit in his truck and listen to this song with him he was a great guy I miss you papaw rip .
This was then-19-year old Danny Kirwan’s first recording with Fleetwood Mac... Be sure to listen to his “Sunny Side of Heaven” from the 1972 FM album “Bare Trees”.
Interestingly, Danny Kirwan who grew up listening to jazz musicians like Django Reinhardt, Eddie Lang and Joe Venuti, recorded Venuti's "Jigsaw Puzzle Blues" originally from 1933, as the B side of Albatross, copying Jimmy Dorsey's clarinet solo almost letter perfect on guitar: ua-cam.com/video/aZ0MNze6pgY/v-deo.html
He also recorded a solo album called "Second Chapter". Although very different, there are some nice songs on it: ua-cam.com/video/B0mUNqlYvYk/v-deo.html
Peter Green with his now legendary guitarr "Greenie", later owned by Gary Moore and presently Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Such a piece of music history still going strong.
These are the days when I had seen them so often in Wolverhampton…after this they hit big, but so remember the Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac…that guitar could sing..didn’t need lyrics.
Such a great player; never wanted to be the star, always deferred to his band mates, and even named HIS band, Fleetwood Mac. Love the early Mac so much…
I've always loved this, it's so soothing to listen to in this crazy world at present. A plasterer who i used to work with, always had a battered old acoustic guitar with him in the works van, he did a good rendition of this instrumental it brings back a lot of memories, of when this first came out.
Yes there Peter still smiled , oftn he gave a smile , 💚 but no one of his group ever smiled back ,sad, this song ist the most beautiful ,ever heard ,no matter how years go on 🌹🌹🌹
This song reminds me of my best mate, she would repeat this lovely piece of work, over and over again, when she was feeling down. Don't see much of her now, miss you xx
Although very different, you might also enjoy this one from the band. The original (and best imo) Fleetwood Mac scored Hits with “Albatross” and “Oh Well” (in Australia anyway) so I’ve known the songs forever but I love watching the guys play them. Enjoy……ua-cam.com/video/0yq-Fw7C26Y/v-deo.html
This is absolutely one of the most beautiful instrumentals ever recorded. I remember hearing it after my Air Force tour 1965-1969. Fleetwood Mac was great back then. Anybody out there have the album "Then Play On"?
Really a great instrument version , i like the drums being used, i think it adds a great deal to the rythum , plus a clear view of the drumming strokes adds a lot for me ; watching the evident fun amoungst the players also adds so much than you for the Uploading much appreciated
Peter Green,Danny Kirwan,May God bless your souls, two troubled men who were extremely talented, but left the world with in my opinion the best instrumental of all time.
Wonder if M&S know anything about this piece, using it on their ads. The history of it and composer. Just heard today being played by a lad busking, believe it or not, outside of M&S Newcastle. He played excellent. Its a classic. Got to be a guitarists favourite.
My Uncle played this tune on a tape recorder the size of a suitcase when I was seven years old. Now it flowes from out of nowhere, into my cellphone... Very misterious. Thanks for the upload....😂😂
It was very easy for myself to upload it on YT. :) Maybe making of the clip took some time. then. Thank you very much for listening. Its music like a good medicine. Not only for a body...
Hoy. día mundial de los albatros nada mejor que sonará esta musica dedicada al albatros ave marina esta musica es una joya una delicia del gran maestro Peter Green...
A rare case of three lead guitarists.
To paraphrase M&S, "This isn't just Fleetwood Mac, this is Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac"
How about some slight respect for the actual songwriter?
@@terryallen9546... Peter Green?
@@rivereuphrates8103 Yes.
It's so strange to see Peter Green and Danny kirwan together. It's like they're passing in the shadow of each other

The original blues based Fleetwood Mac were incredible, adore this piece of music
Yeah me too. I can't stop listening to it it's f****** AMAZING!
Let us not forget Danny Kirwan
What a masterpiece! Underpinned by 3 wonderful guitar players. The piece is simple yet intricate and the wonderful interplay is what makes it a masterpiece. Only Fleetwood Mac with the 3 leading guitar players could pull this off.
That's true but the drums are it's heartbeat. That's what makes it

Timeless, I would listen to this all the time. A beautiful piece of music.
i'm so glad to see this uploaded again without the superimposed birds.
Agreed, only need to see the band playing. The Albatross film's showing over the top of the band superfluous.
Me too!!!
Indeed - first I've checked since it's been up; much appreciated - believe the one with seagulls is just to avoid Big Bro regs... and elude capture/ha
They probably used the birds to cover up the hideous sync.. It looks like they are playing an entirely different song. lol
Yes , the birds are a pest.
Insane how this early version of fleetwood mac had 3 guitarists/Singer/songwriter's that most bands would kill to have one of.
Same with yardbirds :).
Well if I'm not mistaken, it would appear 4 guitarists, the bass gets no mention and very little coverage, yet is very crucial to the whole feel of this musical masterpiece

Such a beautiful song. I wouldn't mind if this was the last song I listened to before I pass one day
Kirwan and Green, yet most don’t know Danny existed…
Danny was so talented and under appreciated. Pete knew though.
Oh man, Danny was a blessing to the band and Peter knew it. Watch Peter look at Danny and smile...
Deeply, deeply beautiful music...

You have to wonder how all these super guitarists came together to record this masterpiece.
When this was in the charts MY world was a better place.
Do you remember the ‘video’ on Top of the Pops? An actual albatross of course, coasting over the southern oceans. Gawd knows how it was filmed.
