Gorgeous room!! The people who work on these rooms at Mount vernon should be very proud of the great work they've done!
It must have been the fashion to mix patterns like that.
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful.
Very beautiful.
Beautiful i love it
Thank you for watching Cherly. We will have some more videos about room restoration later this month so stay tuned!
Thank you.
That's beautiful!! I love it.....
That's beautiful
Beautiful.
Washington was very wealthy but he wasn't obnoxious wealthy, like goldleafing everything. He and his wife had classic taste in decor. Very beautiful.
Great research. Regards...
Beautiful job were you ahead of scedule on this project seems like you were if Irecall
What’s missing in all of these videos are the clocks that would have been placed throughout the house. There would probably have been at least one long case clock and mantle clocks in the more important rooms. There’s no authenticity without the striking of clocks
Will you be rstoring the fire mental iron work in the larg green room down stairs....
Fun fact: 11 of Washington’s teeth have been recovered from the basements mortar.
Beautiful 😍 I'd sleep there.
That bed would NEVER be that close to the fireplace
The fires would have been kept very small...it's the hot coals that would have been desired to heat the room. But I agree...a potential spark would concern me, too.
What a shame that all info was lost. What happened to the artifacts and how do you know what the room looked like? To me this is not a very accurate vision of the "BlueRoom" and that is a shame and a loss.
I didn't ask for this
I’m sorry to say, but Thomas Jefferson had better designers over at Monticello than the Washington’s did at Mount Vernon.
We believe that all men were created equal. Just ignore the slavery. The Americans what a bunch they are.
Thank you.
