Came here as soon as I heard the news of Tina Turners passing. My heart hurts. But I’m so so GLAD Oprah gave her, and so many other amazing Black Women, their flowers after a lifetime of work. Of carrying on the fight. Of opening doors so that women who look like me have, not just a seat at the table, but a VOICE.
Rest in Peace Ms. Tina Turner, we didn’t deserve you, but you always deserved it all and more ❤🕊️🥀

I love me some Oprah man. I know many women love her too, but as a black man, i've always admired her grace, professionalism and representation of not only black women but women PERIOD. I think her tribute to the legends was top notch 100% and was glad she had the opportunity to say THANK YOU for their contributions. I think we as a people (blacks) dont show the graditude of our ancestors by the way we carry ourselves sometimes. I hope somebody can do the same for Oprah she deserves it!

Diana Ross does not need to be honored ...she has received far far too many accolades already. Diana Ross has always been self-serving as evidenced that she did not even bring Mary Wilson with her as a guest who was her partner for years when Miss Ross was coming up.

I almost cried when I watched this. Its SO GOOD to see a sista like Oprah APPRECIATE and give props to other sistas from the past who paved the way for SO MANY others. You see so much self hatred and envy with black folks now days...it was very refreshing to see this. I love Oprah and all of the legends and youngins, who continue to represent black people with out being half naked as a video vixen or wear their pants sagging and being a thug. Thank you Oprah and god bless everyone in this video.

I was a kid when this first aired on abc in awe! I still watch this special every few years for nostalgia and am astounded each time. But it hurts now even more knowing that so many of those iconic names are no longer with us. Oprah was ahead of her time for this one. The IMPACT!!! Creating such a historical moment in time by honoring all of those phenomenal women in one room. I really hope she considers doing this again. Even if it's every few years. We need this as a reminder to us and our younger generation about the power black women have had over the years in shifting the world.

This is why Oprah is so fantastic. She thinks of others all the time. I mean which individual would think of doing something of this magnitude? She is so generous...leaves me speechless. And it is probably why God has blessed her so much. To be clear, I am not talking about the fantastic food etc. I am talking about the "Thank you, we appreciate all you did!"

I watched all five videos. My tears started the moment that I seen Maya Angelou and continued from there. I seen the faces of women that larger than life to me. My soul seen our ancestors standing behind each one of them applauding. As they whisper slowly....” You have made the chains, beating, whipping, aches, pains, blood, sweat and tears all worth it. To see you all here honoring one another. My shoulders were in the fields, kitchens and nurseries. I held them still for you to climb upon them. Y’all have done so and I pray that the next and next generation upon generations continue to do so. In this way you are honoring us. That we may never be forgotten.Thank you my child”. What a gift a Oprah gave to them and us to have years after many of them have passed on. A few of those beautiful women no longer walk with us on this earth. They have gone on to meet the legends that came before them. Oh I am so proud to be a Black Women they made everyday of my life so worth raising to meet every challenge. Legends of old and new we speak your name’s.

Oprah, I love you for being so selfless, and sprinkling your stardust on our wonderful heroines. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are heartwarming, and it is so joyous to see these legends truly thanked and appreciated with such flamboyant style. Thank you Oprah ❤️❤️❤️

It's actually Oprah Winfrey's Legend Ball and these group of videos are some of the most inspiring videos/tv shows that I've ever seen. I'm thankful for Oprah and all of the LEGENDS that she celebrated. Watching her show makes me want to be a better, more productive person.

Lol these women she honored here have been "in the game" for like 50 yrs before she honored them so none of these "youngins" qualify for that yet

Angela Bassett played the movie "What's Love Got To do With It" representing Tina Turner was deep and the fact that black women do not expose themselves in a vulnerable way.
