- From the 1961 film, "Twist Around The Clock" In this film Dion performs three songs, The Wanderer, Runaround Sue and The Majestic. The film's producers dusted off the script from the film, "Rock Around The Clock" and basically substituted the word "Twist" for "Rock" and had themselves a new film! The plot and most of the dialog are the same for both films.

If you're listening at all
New news from the commonwealth... There have been reported sightings of a heavily-armed, advanced power armor wearing gang calling themselves "The enclave". Not much is known about them, beyond a few clues found in burned out settlements with no known survivors, after the "enclave" visited.... Oh.... WE'RE ALL GUNNA DIE!
...or maybe not. Rumor is that The vault dweller may actually be hunting THEM! The vault dweller was spotted recently by Diamond City security, wearing power armor that, according to the witness, he has "never seen anything like it."
And I'm Travis.
Born in 1950 ... this became my theme song from 63 ...still is today.
I Have TOO 😁 "Mate" 😉

I was born in 1970, but my soul ii from the fifties and sixties. I love this music.
Born in 98, 23 and will probably still be listening to this masterpiece at your age 🙌
... I'm an aborted fetus, a little runt and i love this cha cha cha.
Must be a playboy; ❤️ this song & run around sue:: my ex coworker Sue; that was her song: a he married now however she hated that song
That dude kills that sax !
Boy does he ever.
In this song Boots Randolph plays the sax. You may want to check him out he was a great player. He played every rock Sax parts, even for Elvis.
Sax player never moved his fingers
@@michaeldisalvo7482 Lmao! 😅😂 ! I thought I was the only one who noticed that. The music is all recorded ,. (They're all just pantomiming & Lip Sync)
@@hanschristophercharles6981 They could have at least used real musicians. The guitar player isn’t playing more than one or two chords…
It’s always hilarious to me to watch the entire performance the audience sits and stares at dion as soon as the song is over everyone gets up to dance. Absolute gold
its a movie they are in...
💃🤸👼🏃👩🦽🙎🧏
Wundervoller Sänger👍👍👍👍💕💕💕💕🤩🤩🤩🤗🤗🤗🌺
Today people at concerts are like demons screaming acting like clowns
@Vo-Nique Ciara Deanne Brown r
"Hey, how many people do you think we can fit on this stage?"
😂
Lol
He is the wanderer after all lol
Stage Manager: How many backup singers and musicians do you want?
Dion: Yes.
Yes
Dion nails this song....even sounds tough to match the lyrics, brilliant stuff.
the whole song is far ahead of it's time. So far ahead that no one wanted to do it in 1960. They were afraid of the lyrics, Dion recorded it at the last minute and still was not sure about it. Of course it became the B side of " The Majestik" but not for long.
❤️ this song
his voice in this song is good & this is why i love classic music before 2000 & im born in 1986 & listen to this kind of music
@@catholiccowboy8545 Had no idea the lyrics caused any kind of an uproar. They played this tune all the time on my TOP 50 am station WHK 1420 from Cleveland, Ohio. Now, nowadays one probably could not get airplay from all the censors/woke has entered our society in every thing.. I played the heck out of this tune and recall didn't care for the flip side at all. Maybe I'll give it more listens. Had no idea that's the side that was pegged for the "A" side!! Thanks for that info!!
@@brucetowell3432 Since the djs picked "The Wanderer " who was the B side it proves the uproar came only from the owners of the record company. Soon they changed it to a "A" side. (However, on Maresca's original demo of the song, the lyrics were "with my two fists of iron and my bottle of beer", and the change to "with my two fists of iron but I'm going nowhere" in fact seems to have been at the record company's insistence.). There's the 1959 original demo by the composer E. Maresca : ua-cam.com/video/DnISCXDlK00/v-deo.html
But actually the 2 sides + the recording + the musicians for that date made it special. It sounds ahead of it's time who was 1962. Me for myself i like "The Majestik" as much as "The Wanderer". I bought that single in Montreal in 1962 for $0,99 and i still own it and still love it.
This is Dion Gold & Genius ! I'm 72 & still rocking out with Dion & the Belmonts!
I`M 71. AND ENJOY IT.
I'm 71 and I'm still rocking it. Age is just a number
What an absolute classic...still sounds brilliant today...so cool.
I agree
@@death2sion333 Hi Luke....just learnt this track on guitar too - great fun to play...rock on!
Lyrics not woke enough for 2022
A question for the ages:
The Wanderer meets Runaround Sue, *who leaves first?* 🙋🙅🙌🙆
That’s a hard question
Both at the same time. They had there fun and its time to move on.
plot twist: they end up married and they settle down
The wanderer definitely the good ol smash and dash
Maybe Runaround Sue is the reason he is The Wandere🤯
im a 60 year male, this is the music i love, bring back this music for gods sake
I'm a 71 year old female and I agree our music was the best back when is the best7th
Still here in 2024
One of the genuinely great songs from a great period.
Yes sir it surely was a great time
The contrast between the song lyrics and the audience is hilarious. This was just before the Swinging Sixties.
Yeah lots of 'Mad Men' types in the audience.
Agreed, but I was thinking more of how strait-laced they are, and were in those days.
It was during the 1960s.
... 3 years before 1964 and the Beatles and the end of the zombie 50s.
@@p123-i9s Nonsense. The 50s crowds went nuts for some of the early pioneers. This clip is set up for tv.
this audience has no idea how great this tune or performance is. They're living in a permament 1950's squaresville. Dion's trying to lead them into the future.
60 years later & Dion's still going!❤😎👍
Dion is still singing & making great music in 2022 The guy is amazing❤️
I would love to see him in concert.
Love this song, its especially fun to listen to when marauding around the radioactive wasteland of fallout 4, I'm from the 2000s, though old songs like this make me want to see the 1950s through 2000
Completely agree with ya
Welcome to Fallout
@@annabanana16465 Honestly, Fallout 4 has some bops. Its pretty cool your brother found it through the game too.
@@IlIlIllllllI yee, fallout really for these old timey songs that have been lost in ths new generation.

His cool moves on stage were as awesome as the song and him singing it.
Runaround Sue from the same movie has killer dance moves by Dion that Michael Jackson could only dream of.
That dude smoking a cig was the coolest dude around🎶
Colt 45 zag Was

+Colt Im smoking right now this very minute 2 years ahead from your timeline.
This is the only song that calms my baby down and puts him to sleep! Thank you 1950s Dion :)
What absolutely fantastic memories. I was so lucky to be a teenager in
the late 1950's to mid 60's. God, what I wouldn't give to do it all
again and not change a thing.
With you, pcpete911 I was born in 1938...83 now...Still get the heebie gheevies listening to all stuff from when [I] was in my mid to late teens...Head phones on...I bounce to all this amazing stuff...full of so many MEMORIES!! Like you, I'd love to revisit!! LOL!! Take it easy buddy!!
Fantastic! :)
I wish we had a time machine that would allow people to go back and witness all things of the past but not interfere with anything. Just sit back and watch the history of our world unfold.
@@johnstill164 actually amazing meeting people here that were born before this song was released. I'm 18 and found the song through a game and got hooked immedeatly. I would love to know what it was like to see this live.
@@TToxicom fallout 4, right? :D
Times were so great back then.
I was born in ‘75 and raised in this….LOVE IT!!!
This song will never get old
I so love UA-cam because I can enjoy today the music I grew up with. Wonderful songs like this & hundreds more.
60 year old song. And Dion has a new single with Joe B right now. Still great at 82.
And when she asks me which one I love the best?😅. This song is timeless
Few songs were this cool on the radio at the time. Dion totally slayed AM radio with this single.
I was 14 when this video was made. I think of this as early rock and roll but as I listen to it now I wonder. It's pretty tame stuff, compared to what Chuck Berry and Little Richard were doing. My notion of rock and roll then and now are certainly different. I do enjoy listening and watching whatever it's called
63 years later.....STILL SLAPS HARD!
Then & now dion is brilliant ,,can’t wait to see him in concert again here soon.
We’re getting out of the vault with this one.
2024 and still wandering back to this song 👀
great music, great era.

J’avais 11 ans et plein d’illusions qui courent encore dans ma tête ❤
From an era sadly "gone with the wind"...
Not completely. There are groups that embrace the culture of the time, but for the most part it's gone.
NEVER !
Nah bro you forgot about pseudo boomers
The wayward Wind?
I’m 18 and a embrace this culture a hate this world nowadays a should have grown up in the 50s-70s
Dion was the best. His delivery and braggadacio was awesome

I agree with
Miss Bonecutter
I was a sophomore in high school when this was released. Love the music the most and great to dance to. The saxaphone player very talented. Great music from yesteryear. 🎶🩰😊
I find it very interesting how in the song runaround sue he’s shaming her but in the wanderer he’s basically the male version of runaround sue. Interesting how perspective can justify/unjustify actions
RIGHT
Love that naughty sax solo 🙏🌹
Extremely an exceptional song!!! 🤗
2024 anyone ? The crazy drummer brought me here
This song is essentially my Anthem.
this song kicks in!
A true classic rock song!

This song is just pure badass cool--an all time classic!!
Good ol song to listen to😅😅😅❤
Oh well, I'm the type of guy who will never settle down
Where pretty girls are, well you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em cause to me they're all the same
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em they don't even know my name
They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Oh well, there's Flo on my left and then there's Mary on my right
And Janie is the girl well that I'll be with tonight
And when she asks me, which one I love the best?
I tear open my shirt and I show "Rosie" on my chest
Cause I'm the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Oh well, I roam from town to town
I go through life without a care
And I'm as happy as a clown
I with my two fists of iron but I'm going nowhere
Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around
I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town
And when I find myself a-fallin' for some girl
Yeah, I hop right into that car of mine and drive around the world
Yeah I'm the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around
I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town
And when I find myself a-fallin' for some girl
I hop right into that car of mine and drive around the world
Yeah, cause I'm a wanderer
Yeah, a wanderer
I roam around, around, around, around, around, around
Cause I'm a wanderer
Yeah, a wanderer
I roam around, around, around, around, around, around, around
Cause I'm a wanderer
I'm, a wanderer
I roam around, around, around, around

This was played on AM FM and Diamond City Radio
My dad was born in 1940, so he would have been 21 here. He was so good looking. I got a bunch of his old pics. (He passed last year.) Him with his ducktail, rolled up shirt sleeves and cigarette hanging from his lips. Guys looked so cool then. Then he joined the army so no more ducktail. Lol. I do remember my mom was hot for Dion. 🤣🤣
