Dead Island was originally made by Techland and Deepsilver just own's the right's to Dead Island but after some time in 2012-13 Deepsilver wanted DI into a Dead Rising type game light hearted this is shown in Dead Island 2 gameplay where they removed the creepy atmosphere and gory realistic combat from the first game and literally turned into a sunshine and rainbow's type zombie game ,either way Deepsilver messed it up and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be in this situation we propably would have gotten a 3rd Dead Island by now. Look how many developer's Deepsilver has changed for Dead Island 2 they went from Yager Studios to Sumo Digital to Dambuster Studio's .

I remember playing this game over a decade ago thinking "This is awesome." I never played a zombie game where the zombies were ferocious and chased you down and even though there was essentially no plot it was so much fun looting and slashing zombies it never became an issue. I completely slept on "Dying Light" not even knowing the developers had moved onto this new project I was so stuck on the "Dead Island 2" release it completely went under my radar. Definitely a masterpiece in gaming.
Dying Light 2, I feel, will be a GOTY contender. The devs put so much work and creativity in it. Truly successors to the Dead Island games.

@@slinger1237 Lol yeah. Even a devs previous games aren't merit that a game will be good, considering CDPR made the Witcher 3. But iirc, Techland always prefers to have full control over a game than have a publisher run the release dates. Its the reason they didn't continue to work with Deep Silver on Dead Island 2 and instead made Dying Light.
So I still have hopes for Dying Light 2. Especially because the soundtrack designer's favorite band is Metric and it showed up in the demo which was really cool. So at the very least, I expect cool moments and atmosphere because of the sound design alone.

This game is so LEGENDARY. I absolutely loved Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. I have memories playing it during the summer when I had no school, and I'd listen to music and go ham playing this game day and night! This game holds a special place in my heart with Left 4 Dead, that was my whole adolescence. Even now I have worked through replaying both games.
The Graphics, The Effects, The Gameplay, its just amazing how a game made 9 Years ago still can compete with new games in 2020.
the game remastered, so the graphics are enhanced lol and he's playing on a pc.
Animation is kinda janky though.
It looks like a solid 2017-2018 ish game so it’s at least 5 years ahead of its time

I remember when the trailers came out for Dead Island the hype was crazy. First half of the game was amazing and kinda fell off towards the end but I enjoyed this one a lot. Tons of potential for the sequel.

I couldn't finish it cause I suck and doing it solo. I wasn't that young for it to be scary compare to when I played blood omen and soul reaver(mostly dealing with water).

I remember being around 25 playing with this 9 year old and 12 year old, lol! I talked with their parents letting them know I’m a mom too who is really bored with no life other than parenting and work. Those kids I played it had the best cheats for guns with unlimited ammo.😂

I still find the story to this so amazing and love how they actually had an origin for the virus which is super rare in video games about zombies. I didnt enjoy Dying Light but I loved Dead Island. (Riptide was pretty lame though).

Dead Island is my favorite game all time! It brings so much memories, from being scared to playing it alone and hearing the freaking infected from far away to passing the game multiple times to get 100%. I still play it

Both Dying Lights have never been able to come close to replicating the feeling this game had. They truly had something special with these games and they just decided to throw it away.

Spent hours playing this with friends. I loved it. I really liked the manual attacking mechanic where you held LT to aim your swings, was such a cool idea!

Damm, nostalgic. I remember playing in the city and encountering a strange glitch which sent me to late game in the jungle. I decided to start all over again, hope dead island 2 is worth the wait. This was the best zombie game ever!! Loved the weapons. Who remembers zeds demise or the wakisashi. Best weapons.
