I do it by myself using a simplified method. The whole point is learning from patterns. I've found it quite useful.

Bert Hellinger popularized family constellation work, he didn't invent it. The fundamental principles were developed by Virginia Satir, who inspired Thea Schönfelder, who inspired Hellinger. He did expand the principles and popularize them, but please give credit where credit is due.

Unfortunately that is incorrect. Hellinger brought phenomenology together with Family Therapy and Satir's work as well as how tribes honour their ancestors having been a minister in the Zulu tribe

What Bert did was way more than expanding learned principles, he moved on to developing a whole new approach, it is not factual to quote him not being the inventor of Family Constellation & FC went way beyond Satir's Family Sculpting which is as different to Family Constellations as Psychodrama is, its a different methodology.

I am a layperson in the field of family constellations although I have followed a few as a client. It is great if you can see everyone's specific perspective and therefore become more forgiving. Especially with people who are angry with parents. But ... for people who grew up with a narcissistic parent, that might be a pitfall? After all, the circumstances have taught them to always forgive, to see that the other was also injured. Actually standing 'above events' and therefore not feeling their individuality, their ego. Feeling healthy anger was not an option because you were dependent on that emotionally immature parent. Perhaps it is better for them to take a different path: that of justified anger as a force to get into lost individuality. Being childishly angry, because you have always been denied that.

It sounds like there isn't a discrepancy here. Forgiveness, or letting go, is always primarily if not entirely, in service to the person letting go - reclaiming their pathway to internal peace that isn't dependent on another person or outside circumstance being a particular way. Seeing a "narcissistic parent" as also human, doesn't have to come at the expense of permission to have or honor our own experience. Multiple things can be true. If getting in touch with the anger(and grief) is hard for someone in that dynamic, it sounds to me like that is in addition to the healing/release that family constellations work provides rather than instead of.

Great job. I wish I could have this video in German. It is fun to watch, takes the fear for people who have no idea what this is and gives a clear understanding. Thank you for sharing :-)

I like this very much. I have heard much about constellations and conceptually understand the idea. I know of Bert but didn't know the governing principles. I'm looking into beginning this work and -- was looking at different practitioners that I don't think necessarily share up front these core principles....it's like, yeah we all serve burgers but -- there's a million way to interpret and present the burger. That's why this was helpful for me. Q: 1.) What do you do? 2.) How do you see this / can you talk to programs like Adult Children's of Alcoholics or other Inner Child like workshops? Competition? Complimentary? Any of these origins relate to one another? Thank you!!

Hi there Brenda! I’m taking the liberty of sharing your video on my FC page. I really hope you don’t mind - it could even well increase your clientele, if you could accommodate more! 🙂
