And it helps inspire me to want to pick up my henna again. I pray others find healing through great lyricists and writers (if the music) like a Regina. Definitely check out Fiona Apple and Ani Difranco. They sort of pioneered this sort of music. And then there’s Mitski; young like Regina and stupid crazy talented lyrics and vocals as well.
Something about this song leaves a strong feeling inside me, its like hurt and hope mixed together. And Regina consistently makes me feel things like this and that is why I adore her music.

I listen to her crazy, corky, classy, funny and insanely deep songs since I was 14. I'm 26 now, and through these 12 years, she has been the soundtrack of the history of me. I wish she'd come again to Brazil. I'm a whole other person now, and it would be amazing to see her again, to listen to her and feel like I'm coming home.

I'm 28 and he told me a couple years ago that his favourite memories of our childhoods were him driving us to&from school etc and us all singing regina spektor in the car.♥️💞

She and Ani DiFranco sort of pioneered this genre in the 90’s and their music stands up to today’s issues because, well, heartbreak, love, healing, personal growth, etc, is always relevant. My big sister introduced me to Ani and Fiona in the 90’s when she was in high school and college and I was 4 years younger. My sister introduced me to real music; not the crap they play on the radio. Please check them out, too! I think y’all will love them, too! Fiona Apple actually just dropped a record that she recorded at home I believe in 2021. It’s SO good, begging y’all to check them out and hoping someone comes back and tells me they checked them out or know who they are! They’re like the OG’s if this genre and Fiona is a crazy talented pianist as is Ani but Ani plays guitar like you wouldn’t believe.

when I first found Regina, she was a piano and a voice. it sounds different now but I still like it but i hear way more sounds that distract from her voice and piano work.
