It’s really great for studies, especially if you can get a keyboard and the Apple Pencil. You won’t really need anything else unless it’s required for your courses.

Air 4 is just like Air 5 I think. Only difference is colors and the M1 chip I believe, which isn’t really necessary for most people. I would recommend the air 4 because you can use it for a variety of things, the screen is bigger, and there are less bezels that get “in the way” (which is what made me switch from iPad to iPad Air) plus, Apple Pencil 2 is better in all ways from charging to features (better for taking notes, and easier switch from pencil to eraser mode). It’s definitely more money, but in my opinion it’s a bit of a better investment if you can afford it.
Also, buy the iPad refurbished or used, but the pencil new, and from a reputable place. I got a refund, but I initially bought a fake pencil. It still worked as far as writing went, but that was about it. The fake one scared me 😅
