This is just amazing. I love that song. And the singing. It is beautiful. But I also like the Nick-Jonas-version. His voice is so calm.. Probably this is how it has to be, but since I've never seen the whole musical and Nick Jonas' version was the first one I listened to, I like that, too.
he's a bit big for a Marius, lol, jk. his voice is amazing, full of emotions. just listening brings tears to my eyes. whoever sings this and brings tears to my eyes are the best in my opinion.

For all the Michael ball haters out there... Michael is amazing and a baby voice like nicks cannot handle this song. Im not saying he's bad and Yes he was good in the 25 anniversary, but compare his version to michael's in the 10th anniversary and there's no competition... oh btw to show that im not some stupid nick jonas hater i LOVED nick Jonas's acting in smash!

eddie Redmayne is good in the film but some of the others let the film down (like hugh jackmans voice.) But yes Michael Ball is by far the best Marius

He was Marius not Valjean
Easily the best Marius. Although Eddie Redmayne was surprisingly good.
In this version when he sings: "the very words that they HAD sung" he does the HAD a whole step up from the 10th anniversary concert edition. Is it written in the music as he sang it here, or as he sang it in the 10th anniversary concert?
One dislike: Nick Jonas.
Is this the same show where he sings ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All"?
nick jonas should continue with his vocal lessons.. he is an alright singer but definitely needs more practice for broadway/west end

@ThePotsy70 well he does his melodramatic overacting because he feels what he sings trust me wenn you feel the song your singing you sing it so so much better thats how i feel my music teacher feels my singing teacher feel i dont think he does it on purpose :D
I realize a lot of people like this version, and it's certainly one of the better versions, but too me it just sounds too fast and celebratory.
Legonater this is a concert, go watch his actual show performance for the tenth anniversary
He obviously sings it beautifully, but in all honesty I think he lacks a bit of emotion for that part. I can't really feel the sadness that is supposed to be in this part. But his voice range is just awesome !

Jackman is technically a good singer but his voice didn't seem to have any "richness" and it sounded really strained.
I like this a lot, but I honestly like nick jonas's, he's amazing, especially for his age. you guys have to keep his age in mind.
I find Mario Frangoulis' version more engaging and nicer to hear...
This. He's a good singer for parts that are in his range (his performance in Oklahoma), but he was wrong for Valjean. He sounded like a sheep
Yes this is excellent. .. however I think eddies version in the film may be even better. For me eddies had another dimension to it. An extra emotional edge over this. Micheal may have the better voice..but he doent PERFORM the song like eddie

@Mollichina1000 Except that he really isn't. He's incredibly whiny and nasal and can't hold a note to save his life. He also sings with his nose instead of from his diaphragm. I respect him, because all people deserve respect, but he's NOT a good singer.
