I was there from the UK only a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed riding these trams. Shame I lost my reading glasses on red line tram heading north. I never did find them.
There's a lot of great things about DART (like the frequency and coverage) but they really need to replace or extensively refurbish their rolling stock. The trains look old and definitely feel old inside, and it's just not pleasant to ride unlike the TRE or especially the TEXRail. I'm not even sure what they'd replace it with, but something like the Siemens s700 would be great
Very nice video! When was this taken? Car #163 had its wrap removed after about 1 month with it on, and footage of it is pretty rare. Interesting to see you caught it! Also, D2 has been very much delayed to around 2040. DART says they want to do fleet and system upgrades before starting D2 work, so we've got a long time to wait.
I'm going to make an assumption--seeing that this was posted before your flight home to HOU and looking at the sun angle, my assumption is that this ride was taken just hours before your flight--an early morning ride to Bush to check out the Silver Line construction then back to Akard and your hotel to check out before noon--then back on the Orange Line to Inwood/Love--has rail been laid yet at Bush? I didn't see any evidence of the roadbed curving away to the west. These DART Rail cars certainly have excellent acceleration! Am guessing the top speed hovers around 70mph especially in the subway--do you have footage of the McKinney St trolley? Is Inwood or Mockingbird closer to Love Field? Imagine the scheduling nightmare if one train derailed in the subway! "We're on the ground!" reports the engineer! Knowing that the Silver Line will terminate at DFW Terminal B, same as TEXrail, it will be interesting to see the scheduling of both lines on a two track stub endpoint.
Lol! And your assumption is correct! Here is the ride video of the McKinney Street Trolley (ua-cam.com/video/iH5Qb0Uwygk/v-deo.html). I would say Inwood is much closer than Mockingbird. Actually, many years ago, the train was stall in the tunnel (www.dallasnews.com/news/2011/06/22/dart-president-apologizes-for-mistakes-that-led-passengers-to-flee-stalled-train/). Passengers had to walk out from the tunnel.
Huh, I've been looking at the Silver Line construction for a while, though never seen it in person (no reason to head that way as of late) and I'm just now being informed that it's not sharing with Orange/Red. Who knew?!
@@HOUExplorer yeah, I was reading about it on DART’s website and it said that the trains were incompatible with the overhead catenary wires due to sharing with freight lines or something like that. So I guess it could be similar to the TRE in simply being too tall to feasible share
I don’t know why, but I just like watching these videos. I think it’s because of my desire to have and take mass transit.
Bro is so underrated
I wish San Antonio had rail...
@ereacefreightrail and? How does that make my complaint about my city invalid?

@@jamiecinder9412The only city that has over a million people within city limits in the US without a metro nor LRT.
@@jamiecinder9412BTW the other guy was being sarcastic.
Great video man! Welcome to Miami! Keep up the great work, as always! Hopefully the Silver Line will start service before 2024!
Thanks man! I love the beaches, especially at Boca Raton and West Palm Beach! I can't wait for next year for the Silver Line to start!
Hah, good luck reaching 2024 start date, DART has pushed the date back to 2025-2026.
0:47 now that is a nostalgic sound for me
Really? DART changed the sound?
@@HOUExplorer oh no, I just remember it at a young age, and I don't ride DART usually.

It was filmed early April. Sadly to hear the delays about the D2 but first things are first.
@@HOUExplorer my mom will take me on a dart train ride to ledbetter station to SMU/ mockingbird station blue line
Hi great video. Are you gonna do another train ride, the red line from downtown Plano station to walnut hill station this Saturday?
Thanks! I'm flying back to Houston but I will return Dallas.
Are you going to do another video to Parker road station

According to the DART Website, the Silver Line will hopefully start in late 2025 to june 2026 in time for the FIFA World Cup

Yup. Bummer that Silver and Orange/Red are not sharing tracks or station. It is separate like the Green Line and A-Train in Trinity Mills Station.
