Whoever told you that Tunisian crocheting is "hard" are wrong. I used to think that too and just kept putting it off, until I just did it. I just barely learned not too long ago, and so can you. It's really simple! I decided to purchase a small sized book from Joanne's called: Tunisian crochet stitch guide by Leisure Art's, I learned from it after watching PLENTY of video tutorials on UA-cam. Try it, you will enjoy it, I certainly do! Have fun!!

So Toni, this method of joining is slightly different in the beginning as The Pilson Blanket, which I am planning to start soon. Do you recommend this joining of panels (starting the join at the chain) instead of the the other way for the pilson blanket?

Hi Toni! I "accidentally" came across these Tunisian tutorials while looking for crochet stitches to learn! I am now "hooked" on tunisian crochet, and am making my first blanket for my new niece! One question: I made larger blocks (bc of my inexperience,) in a panel (I made a few small pcs first to practice,) and my first square has much looser stitches than the others. I added rows to make the side look the same in that panel, but now I'm ready to add my second panel. Is there a way to keep them looking the same size, but continue with the smaller stitches to match the other blocks I've done? I hope this makes sense! Thanks! I love your teaching- it's so clear and easy to follow! ~Liz

HI Toni - I'm hoping you see this and can help. I spent several hours today trying to make this work for a Ripple joining strips. I have a lovely 56 stitch / four ripple set scarf that is cozy and long - i want to make it wider by adding another couple strips. The count is 57 chains, TSS & RP - then yarn over - into the first bar then next four and three together then 5 tss then 1 yarn over tss 1 yarn over tss then four down and three together - across - every time I tried to join as you show - I would lose a stitch. I tried yarn over at the end but that left a big hole....i tried four with a chain 1 at the end and still would lose a stitch....I've started & frogged now about 7 times to try to make it work - counting carefully and still...lose a stitch at the end. Sorry this is so long - but anything you can do to help me would be appreciated dearly - thank you =)
