FLATLAND BIKE route - WEIRD AND FUNNY back roads of BOTHNIAN BAY COAST!

FLATLAND ROUTE is a new bike touring route opened early 2024, traveling the sand and gravel roads of the northernmost coastal areas in Finland. The route is 320 kilometers long and easily ridden in 5-6 days, with a bike that can handle occasionally rough and sandy roads. It's easy to access from Oulu, or from train stops in Oulainen, Vihanti or Ruukki.

I toured the route in May in four days and created this short video about things I saw on the way. I mostly slept in a tent with the exception of one night.
Shot entirely with Pixel 8, there was no room for a real camera in my gear :(
Bike is wonderful Marin Four Corners, all-steel frame that can take punishment.
