Lovely cucumber. Fyi just thought I'd let you know I've just been to Sainsbury's (not somewhere I'd normally buy plants from) all the spring bulbs are reduced by quite a lot. I bought quite a lot. Will they be ok for next year? I presumed they would be as I'm told to dry out used bubs and store them in a cool dark place. Just wanted your opinion...

I'm growing mini cucumbers but mine are still very small, about an inch long and they are in a small greenhouse not outside, .
They will soon pick up make sure to feed every 14 days

My spinach bolted last month - turnips and mustard going the same way. I'll sow them again in August. As you rightly observed, plenty of other stuff to keep us going, so beetroot soon! New plantings starting to green up after a bit of warmth. Looking good, enjoy your first cucumber!

Looks so lovely Ivan outside. My first time growing cucumber this year, I've got tiny cucumbers coming but when they do the flowers go is that normal lol, how often do you water them. Nice update Ivan thanks for sharing ...
The flowers will die back and fall off so all is good if a cucumber starts to grow water when needed as leaves start to droop or they will start to yellow

ey good to see you got a little bit of inground space even if it is tiny. Nice little harvest on that cucumber too. Update: on my sad cucmber that got too wet, it seems to have perked back up and is starting to grow I honestly thought I lost it, so thanks again for showing us to cut off those droopy leaves. I hope yours is now doing much better too

Cukes look lovely Ivan, and ahead of mine in a greenhouse - and I'm dead jealous of your wavy carrot tops and healthy peppers too! You are doing a good job. great news about the plot of ground too - good luck with the sweetcorn. Bloody badgers completely *destroyed* my whole plants last year, just as they were ripening enough to pick - love the cobs though so I won't be beaten and intend to fence around the plants if needed. 😈

Hope you enjoy your first harvest, i'll give those mini cucumbers a go, a large cucumber self destructs on me before I get to eat it all 😂. My first harvest, also today, was two courgettes and a handful of broad beans - delish. Sorry about your spinach.

Hi Ivan Did u grow those mini cucumber from seed or did u buy ready to plant ones. I did try a type of mini ones from seed theyre still quite small, they started wilting so have put back in greenhouse but to be safe i bought 3 cucumber plants and theyre doing great in my trough, with a couple of bush tomatoes. The cucumbers i bought are long ones, at the time i went to garden centre they were the only outdoor ones they had, the mini ones were for greenhouse but i already have my 4 aubergine plants in there its not huge just one of those lean against the fence type, ive no Idea if they will produce fruits but when someone told me they were difficult to grow i set myself a challenge 😂 im gonna do it hopefully 😉.
Ive had to come inside i was potting up some wild rocket and harvested my garlic and was too 🥵 hot, not that im complaining its about time too.

I grow my strawberries and cucumbers in containers too. I have been having strawberries with my breakfast every morning for the past few weeks now- delicious! I also picked my first cucumber today- also a mini one, but the variety I grow is Passandra. I am also growing Burpless, for the first time, as I can't eat ordinary cucumber so I thought i would give this variety a go. Has any other viewer tried this one? If I still react to then my hubster will just have to eat more cucumber, ha ha. Happy gardening 🙂
