King Diamond, Andy LaRoque and the whole band are just so incredibly tight live. Absolute pros and incredible musicians. Of course, the music is genius level stuff. Ageless.

Yes. In 2015 when I saw KD I was very impressed with the long time he stayed out on stage thanking everyone. No one else I've ever seen in concert comes close.
hmmm, Dio was great, but his voice was understandably deteriorating with age, and we're talking about 2 singers who's styles are completely different, so there's no way to hit a note "better" than the other. That being said, Dio didn't have anywhere near the range that King has. I'm going to say that after seeing King live twice in recent years, his voice is the greatest and strongest I've heard now from anyone of his era, how he can still sing like that at his age is beyond anyone's comprehension.

Long live the King! It was such an epic gig! Having such a big production in the Forum was unreal. So glad the theatrics were in. Such a great fun night. All the alcohol chugged, all the riffs and high notes. Simply an amazing masterclass of how to do heavy metal!
Truly a night to remember. I couldn't contain myself of emotion on this gig. It was simply perfect, King is nailing beautifully without disappointment at all. Crisp performance at 60 years of age. Long live the King!!!
King returned after his back problems and heart surgeries...and ever since King has performed with a voice that sounds like the best of his entire career! And I'm not saying this only because of these live videos and his voice heard on these videos but because I've seen King live three times in 2013, 2014 and 2016 so I know he's in a fierce shape right now!

It's amazing to me how he can do this, especially after all of the health problems he had to recover from and his age. The L.A. concert crowd was pretty much zombies.

King is a true gentleman and I have the privilege of calling him my friend, loved every minute of this gig they all were phonominal!! Also got very drunk with the band back at the hotel after the show 🤘🏻 truly lovely people 🤘🏻

King sounds better than ever since he quit smoking. Even though I really like Mike Wead, Matt Thompson, and Pontus, there is no replacing Pete, Hal and Mikkey.
Sounds like he has backing tracks behind him, or perhaps just alot of reverb and doubling - would not that be surprising given all the harmonies he does on the album. Either way great performance all around!
It is always a suspicion with aging performers. It is also reality to suggest that youthful pipes erode. But I am sure you agree that the performance as executed, as you suggest, is risen above cynicism.
