Their friendship and soulmate bond is truly one of my favorite friendships in Kpop (unless they themselves say otherwise, that's what it is). I think what a lot of shippers tend to forget or not know is that Korean men are far more platonically affectionate than westernized cultures meaning that our standards of "gayness" don't apply to an eastern relationship (friendship, romantic relationship, or otherwise). Real couples in Korea are not outwardly affectionate like people think either. So many of my best friends are just like this. We cuddle, hold hands, and joke about being married. It's one of the best feelings in the world to have people in your life who will always be there, know your strengths and weaknesses and love you for it. It's not hard to see why so many people ship them, but as long as they're happy that's all that matters ❤ (and bonus thank you to the editor for creating a wholesome/hilarious video of these two)
But there's a thing called eyes you know. I have my friends too we cuddle , hug , kisses a lot , but my eyes is not different for any of them . But minsung -their eyes are different.

You can have a different opinion without assuming someone else's opinion is based on ignorance. i think when people don't have or see such affectionate friendships in their lives, it's hard for them to interpret it differently than what they experience themselves. and when they don't have real-life experience, they form views based on what they see in media - and we all know how movies and tv shows lean toward portraying romantic relationships and don't pay a lot of mind to friendships. it's just basic human psychology.

I'll give you an example: I also had a close friend in my university years and everyone thought we were a couple (which I was fine with and didn't care what anyone thought). and then my friend came out as a lesbian and confessed to me. again, I wouldn't apply my experience to others because I like to think logically. but I can see how some people would relate their own experiences to others. psychological reasons aside, I simply don't like when people get invested in someone's private relationships too much. that's why hard shipping without limits is a no for me (it's ok if it's light-hearted and not serious) but i also understand why shipping is a thing and that it's not going away.
