Ed Whisenant I did ride on the converted Thunderbitrd 53 DC3 over downtown LA the day after Christmas that is supposed to be at the Cable show. It was originally built in 1943 for paratrooper activities and was used to drop the 101st Airborne at Normandy and the 82nd Airborne in Operation Market Garden at Arnem. Great flight as the crew was both former Navy and first officer is current ANG 130 driver. I think it was $80. Worth the ride to fly in that piece of history if you get the opportunity. Enjoy!

Yes I agree it is well worth the money to fly in the DC-3, I flew in the Thunderbird DC-3 back in October 26, 2014 at the Wings, Wheels & Rotors Expo Los Alamitos Army Air Field in California. I know these guys and they are a great group of people. This DC-3 was at the Cable Airport Airshow and it is in immaculate condition as you know and I'm so happy that you got to fly in it.

Ed Whisenant that bird certainly did its part to help win the war. Hauling cargo, troops you name it from the Pacific, Atlantic and over the infamous HUMP in Burma.
