when i was a kpop newbie i had no care for twitter at all, my main source of infos is here on yt, but i use twt now so i was pretty shook at the toxicity it contained lol but honestly i think it was better than me using twt so early on the kpopie world since i was already used to the toxicity of kpopies, so u can say that yt is like level1 and twt is level 999 lmao

It’s so hard to keep up with my biases and bias groups. TWICE, ITZY, and BLACKPINK are my faves and it’s so hard to understand everything and the terms and who people are.
i wish this video was here when i was a newbie lmao that was over 4 years ago and this really made me think back to the stupid shit i did so i'm gonna drop smth i thought of while watching that wasn't in the video: don't be a sheep and think your fandom is full of saints there's always going to be toxic stans in every fandom and when i was new i missed a lot of red flags from other armys and thought the fandom was full of saints bc i had a good experience until the pandemic since then i've added more groups to my stan list and have noticed things about armys that other kpop stans had been trying to tell me but i had ignored until then ofc i don't want to generalize bc there's obviously still so many lovely armys who do nothing wrong but i noticed there's a lot of armys who are racist/xenophobic towards other groups and their stans and seeing it now i think back to when i was a newbie saying the same things i see now and feel disgusted that i was a sheep and shit on innocent ppl with racist remarks again not all armys are like this and this is just my experience being used as an example but still always look for those red flags and call out you fandom(s) when neccessary if you see those red flags popping up and make sure you're not doing things like that just bc your moots are doing it i really wish someone had told me that bc maybe then i wouldn't have been so toxic this comment is probably really long now so i'm gonna cut it here by saying welcome to the world of kpop and i really hope that you have a great experience while you're here 💕💕💕💕

I'm still on kpop twt but now I'm on the "better side" of it. As a blink, the fan wars inside the fandom are insane. The solo stans are giving all blinks a hard time and I couldn't praise one member without solo stans attacking me. One time, when I was new in kpop twt, I tweeted something about rosé and lizards just came attacking me. English is not my first language so I didn't realize what was wrong, but it got so bad that I had to delete Twitter and it traumatized me alot. I'm still scared to reply anything solo stans say because they're seriously the worst fandom not only in kpop, but overall on stan Twitter...

i'm a korean kpop fan that lived in the us (i live in Korea rn). my twt timeline consists of both kfans and i-fans, and honestly, i think i got really lucky because it's not toxic. also, i wouldn't recommend getting too deep because i think the deeper you get into the fandom, the more toxic fans you'll see, and it'll drain you. the only reason why i'm on twitter is for information/updates, the members' twt posts, and for the memes. oh, and for all of my international fans, i really appreciate all of you for liking kpop and especially those who are trying to learn korean because learning a new language is extremely difficult. and sometimes, i see some i-fans asking us kfans for explanation and context to understand things fully before jumping to conclusions, and i really appreciate that as well :)
Okay i hope u don't mind me telling u about my journey, this is my 3rd year of stanning K-pop :3 (skip if u dgaf lmao)
The first group i stanned was Blackpink, and my friend was an Army
We were besties but we were at each other's throats when it came to our groups lmfao
But then I started stanning BTS and she started stanning Bp and well we're not throwing hands anymore lmao 💀
And then i learnt about ships (especially Bangpink ones) since I was a stan of both groups 💀 all I wanna say is don't ship pls, just incase idols see them, it can make them uncomfy. Most of these ships are *literally* based on a 0.000001 second of eye-contact or looking in the same direction or dancing/singing to each other's songs 💀
I learnt not only to respect my favs but also other idols out there, as they also put in a lot of effort to get to the point of debuting. I currently am trying to stan Stray Kids, Ateez, Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen 💀 that's a lot gosh-

Don't assume the sexuality of idols, they're human too and can easily be straight OR part of the LGBTQ+, support them regardless

3.Yes!This should also be said to non-kpop fans for what they like

Twitter isn't as bad as people claim it to be tbh. I had the worst encounters to weirdos in UA-cam comment section rather than in Twitter. Twitter is fast in updates and translations, not to mention fanbases are more organised. So it helps alot. I can sort out misinformations. I can block and report accounts that I don’t like. My tl stays clean that way. As for the fan wars, I don’t get involved in them. Because fanwars don't effect shit in real life. So why bother?
As a baby Army, I used to hate my fandom cuz I thought Army fighting with others will somehow bring down Bts as well. Non-Armys kept saying how Bts need to call them out etc etc. But guess what? Nothing happens. Fanwars are meaningless in every sense of the word.

I remember when I was a new kpop Stan and was on army Twitter everyone was hating on multi Stans (that they’re all bad and shit blah blah) when I got interested in other groups I felt really bad to get into them AND it took me a while to leave BTS because *some* army’s have a bad loyalty BTS complex
Those stans literally treat their favs(toxic fans I've seen) as some angels and if they do something wrong they'll be like "oh no we have to trust them" or "remember when they told us to trust them" or "REAL FANS STILL LOVE AND TRUST YOU" and debunk their favs mistake which results in immense amount of hate towards the idol😑 and don't even talk about the reactions you get when you don't like a song from their favs...would go as far as telling you to DELETE yourself or call you a toxic fan who doesn't see the hardwork of the idols or that you're not a real fan😐...the worst part is the FANWARS on stupid reasons possible 💀....this is what I witnessed when I only made an account for voting purposes (I just wanted to live a happy life) it had me going crazy as a multistan🥲
You have to be more selective when following people. Im on army twt and hardly do I see people shitting on multis because I dont follow people who are BTSpoppers or anti multi. Usually they say it outright in the bio
People still hate multis, if you give x opinion they will come to you like "you are a multi, your opinions is useless" like 💀💀💀 sorry for listening to more than one artist annoying kiddo

With kpop twt I'm ok because I follow the right people and fanbases. So I don't see drama unless I want to see it (that means that I have to search for it to appear on my twt) But kpop tik tok on the other side... Omg, that's the worse.
Between twt and yt I actually prefer twt just because I can transform the space in a place that I enjoy, but UA-cam still recommend me antis channel and videos even if a put that I don't want to watch it or recommend it to me so I don't really enjoy that.

I can say, not using twt until after being an army for 1 year was one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. I decided to make a stan twt acc later to make sure i was mature enough not to get involved in petty fights and to just focus on bts. Its a very toxic app and it’s also where many deranged fans camp so im really happy that i didnt go straight to stan twt. My baby army days were fun and free of toxicity.
Same experience became a ARMY in late 2019 and by early 2020 a MOARMY and I just recently made twitter account but it's most of the time just vote , streams , achievement ,memes etc .
If some are fighting I just enjoy the drama and don't involve my self lol

Does anyone know if/how to block a channel on yt? There’s this really toxic person that somehow has like 22k subs and they keep getting recommended to me even tho I hit the “don’t recommend this channel again” thing and idk how to make it not appear on there-
so you click on the channel and there should be 3 dots on the top right click it and it should give you the option to block the channel hope this helped :)

Twitter it’s the most toxic social media to talk about K-pop. Once I found in my country was trending #blackpinkflop. Guess what, It all started with a tweet from a “blink” that only got 3 fcking likes insulting bts. Then the armys were super offended and started a war lol 😩🤦♀️
Something that really helped me was to put things into perspective. Idols really are just humans. They don’t know you, you really don’t know them, I don’t know them, they don’t know me. I just kinda had a moment one time when I asked myself; why do I wake up at 5AM and lose sleep to listen to a comeback? Why do I waste away my day fighting haters? Why do I devote my life to these random people? And after that I kinda just took a few steps back and realized that kpop is supposed to be fun for me. Really what I want to say is don’t take it so seriously honestly. I can support idols’ careers without making them the people I live for, and I think that was important for me to remember. Right now more than ever before I am in it for the music and some discussions with fans, whether lighthearted or serious. I really don’t consider myself a stan, just a fan.

I have been a kpop fan for 6 yrs now and I went on twt like only 3 yrs ago and I was really shocked by the toxicity coz I didn't see such toxicity in yt or ig. It didn't really affect me that much coz I had become pretty mature and now I always try my best to be on the good side of the kpop fandom and follow only unproblematic fan accounts which are mostly multi fans which is great for me btw.
Exactly just stay away from Twitter… Ive been stanning Astro since their debut but I only started using twitter last year … it’s crazy there. The vlive community was all I knew so I was really… shocked by stan twitter.
Tbh i was on stan twt too early on in my kpop stan "journey" like i've always had twt for other things i used to like like danmei, harry potter etc. and when i started liking kpop i naturally searched for sources and contents. I got into kpop in june 2021 and joined stan twt right away and was not surprisef at the toxicity but it was worse than i thought like no on on there smiles or likes peace. I'm alrdy hooked and addicted to it so i just avoid fanwars and petty things and go offline sometimes (like right now). I have friends there and talk abt my faves and i love it (to some extend). Also updates are very very fast, faster than any other apps so i can't let it go that easily even if it fucks up my mental health tbh but i would very very highly recommend not going on twt as a baby kpop stan too!

I’m a k-pop newbie, does anyone know how to keep up with like the latest news of groups and stuff? there’s many member and groups, so it’s a bit overwhelming since I like a lot of them, but can’t keep up with all at once. i have friends that like kpop and they mention the most recent things going on with certain groups or songs while i don’t really know what’s happening.
twitter is mainly good for updates but holyshit do you find yourself hating other groups just bc you can't help but associate them with their toxic fans when you're there 😭

One of my hobbies is learning a new language, and it is fine, if you want to learn the language just for yourself and not for obsessive reasons, just do it, there are a bunch of UA-cam channels, free online books and websites you can use
If you are new to kpop, welcome, and I personally, suggest watching funny videos , it really helps with knowing the members (that is how I learn the NCT members 😀😀,lol) and also it gives you a good laugh and positive energy boost in the day
yes! im korean and as long as you arent trying to do ps or feature changing makeup to look korean (like using eyeliner to make ur eyes look smaller, which is the opposite of real korean makeup lol) yall can learn the language and culture as much as you want

You can curate your Twitter for the kind of content you wanna get. Now I get positive older Army and kpop stans on my feed, of course at the beginning I used to get all the toxicity and different age groups that want different things from what I want.
i met a lot of good friends in engene twt but it gets tiring and toxic at times with all the exposing, cancelling and shit i hope engene twt gets better in the future (ppl there r so sensitive too and so many catfishes everywhere!)
