Nice! I wish they would rerecord their first album with the full band. Love your passion for their music. I think red miso and the brain dance is what got me back into listening to these guys again. Great band
Awesome, thank you! Yeah I could have probably put The Glass Bridge a tier up. The beginning of it is really cool, but I’m not as much of a fan once that opening riff stops.
So excited for you!! I’ve seen them like five times and never get tired of it. You are going to have a blast!! Try to get a spot up front with a great view of the drums. :)
inamorata is obscene. sooo underrated and probably in my top 5. self titled would probably be my favourite album had the percussion been real, and mixed better. on my first listen i didnt take note of the drums but comparing it to tjom is like night and day. only placement i really dissagree with is that crescent is top tier imo lol
What I love about this band is that everyone has different opinions about which songs are their best!! That shows me that all of their stuff is truly great. Thanks for commenting! :)
To say weightless is their weakest album is hilarious. Exact opposite. Probably my favorite album of theirs..It's incredibly good the electronic additions are a beautiful touch. Navene did great on it too.love matt but navene doesnt get enough respect.(Other than fleshwrought and entheos)....Respect your ranks. I could agree with most . Tbh there shouldnt even be a low rank section lol cuz let's be serious, all their music is just perfection. I rarely skip a song maybe less than 5 songs. I love these guys . Been a fan since day one. Definitely my favorite band of the modern era. If not of all time . 🤘🏽Their music truly does something to me internally and externally. Made me not only a better guitar player/musician but a better person.
You really think "Weightless" is their best album? I'll let you know right now that that is a very unpopular opinion, but you are entitled to it. The electronics are great on all of their albums. The drum sound on "Weightless" is definitely the worst, in my opinion. The writing is often unfocused and not catchy. There are standout moments, but there's a reason that Animals doesn't play stuff live off that album hardly ever.
I definitely like soraya more than you 😛 in my opinion their top 3 heaviest songs are private visions, somnarium and gordian naught, so those are definitely top tier for me.
Hahaha! That’s fair! It is a pretty song :) I guess Private Visions has that super heavy breakdown in the middle but I don’t think of it as a heavy song because the rest of it is so light and jazzy! Obviously agree with you on Somnarium and Gordian Naught; those songs are both unbelievable.
@@KierstynStJohn Don't be sorry that you don't agree! Your breakdowns were very interesting, and it's clear you've listened to AAL a LOT. This video also got me thinking about my AAL favourites; might make a tier list of my own :)
“Brain Dance” does not have the technicality to reach the top tier. “Thoroughly at Home” has more inventive chord progressions. If you can’t remember it, you haven’t listened to it enough haha.

A re-recording of the first album would be awesome!! Thank you!!
Your list was great, and incredibly close to how I feel about their discography. (Aside from The Glass Bridge ranking! haha)

Great video! Now I gotta see your periphery tier list!
Will post some time soon and let you know!
Awesome video! I’m going to see them live in June and I am so excited!!

It's so weird I will see "djent" bands have like millions of views but no one makes videos like this loved this
Thank you!! I’m not a professional UA-camr which probably explains the lack of visibility. It’s just a tribute to my favorite band!

@@KierstynStJohn I just really love the long buildup into private visions breakdown, I think the indulgence of a breakdown is earned 😎
Transentience is my favourite aal song…
I'm sorry that I don't agree, but I'm glad you love it!

switch some of your a and s tier then we talk, braind dance alone doesnt do justice. Cant even remember single not from thorought at home for example.
