ill resppond to the comment around forza aero and the loss of top speed here as failrace hasnt commented himself. The game actaully does it properly. when you put the wing on it is set to a compromise between top speed and grip. If you adjust the angle of the wing itll adjust your speed as well. putting 0 degrees will give you close to the same top speed without aero (useful for long tracks with not many tight corners). Putting the wing to 100% is basically saying you want ALL grip and no top speed (useful for short twisty tracks). Id actually love to see a experimant done to see the differences in top speed (i dont actually own forza 5 yet)
A class offroad was an interesting one lol, I done 1 lap before my controller decided to die but the one lap I did was the fastest of the race lol, would've been interesting to see where the skyline would've been

My game crashed on the last lap of race one, one of the only times I've had the game crash haha
I also died on the last race, back of the car brushed the wall and decided to make me do a front flip 😂
I was also on rally tires compared to everyone else's off road race
The rally build seemed like a weird choice, but it was fun watching you try to keep it going in a straight line.
the Corsa just disappearing at 15:15 had me dead XD
Hate desync, on race 2 I was alongside Alex on lap 4 and was put into the wall. But..... you can finally use a db5 in fh5 just not in c class.
In A class road it looked like I accidentally punted you on mine, so I went to give you a boost on the final lap. Loved the Corsa though. Brilliant little car that one
I think it's safe to say AWD is still powerful in this game given the results. Bar 2 cars, the top racers were in AWD cars.
Yeah can confirm this, the RWD or FWD is only for the purist and chill that want to enjoy the game more
I think you can get a lot more grip out of power builds without adding more P.I., the key to it is balancing the front and rear tire widths, then tuning the various suspension aspects carefully.
Similar thing for getting not only even more grip out of a grip build, but also more acceleration and/or speed; adjust the suspension, adjust gearing, and find a balance that works. Tuning different types of builds to get the most out of what they can do is where the biggest difference is at the end of the day.
Little tip, when in ghost mode always stay on the inside for next corner, otherwise if other player comes out of ghost mode you get stuck on the outside and 90% lose the position (kinda like it happened to you at 8:43) . A trick is also to come out of the other ghost last second by steering on the inside, so that he finds himself out of ghost mode on the wrong side and can't do anything about it
My A class tarmac Holden was the only decent car i built.

Fantastic car choice by Alex in this one. The SC300 was one on the short list that we actually got in the US but I never had the chance to snag one when they were cheap. Sure wish they'd come with a 2J from the factory, they'd have sold a ton of them and they'd still be a relevant little brother to the mkiv Supra.
Retro supercars, S2 class, off road tunes is fun, and would be funny to watch the insanity and it's also really fun to drive. Can't take it to seriously, you're basically out off control the entire time.
So I wasn't near the game, it's s1 class when they are built for off road. Super fun regardless
Not quite a retro-supercar, but I was using a Pagani Huayra as my S2 Mixed Surface Races before I discovered the Hoonigan F-150. It literally annihilates everything in S2, with only 936 PI as well.
I've been bouncing around the dessert in the 84 ferrari 288 gto. Really not a good racer, but fun to drive is fun to drive.

I don’t race anything above A class as I just can’t see where I’m going. (I use hood cam.)
So unfortunately I just can’t see where I’m going 90% of the time when racing a s1-X class car.
I find AWD to be king in B and A class.
RWD is okay in b and c class. Fwd is meh in c class.
All are generally equal in D class. Fwd just feels very weak although consistent and easier to drive
FWD meh in C-class. a FWD car won the C-class race.
I think multi-class races are my favorite of your videos to watch. Anyone that agrees, like this comment.

I've just been testing cars in B-Class rally, and the Corsa was the best of them, so it's my standard rally car in that class. I would have chosen the Corsa or '74 Civic for this event.
The SC, which I have owned and love dearly, is a big LONG heavy car. It really isn't suited for much racing.
Doesn't stop me either. It is a gorgeous awesome car! During its development it was actually specifically hindered, lower power motor, less good suspension, all those kinds of things so it didn't become a direct competitor against its lighter younger brother the Supra.
Ford forced the same thing with the Mercury Cougar (another one of the cars I have owned.) back in the 60s when it was built on the Mustang Platform. To the point where Ford pulled them off the race circuit, until Mercury decided to get back in it themselves.
This, but you only upgrade your car if you’re not on the podium. Maybe go down to 50PI increments but only go up to A or make it a multi video event - if you’re not on the podium in S1, you’re knocked out.when you’re down to the last 3, it’s the final. Probably too long an event for you, but it would be epic - if you stretch it across multiple videos you could theme each one - road then cross country etc. we used to play this in project Gotham, it was loads of fun!

Personally I would do a build based on handling and maybe increase power slightly. In the end you will gain overall speed, and grip.
As a glutton for punishment I love racing GT3's on iracing in multiclass and being bullied by superior machines...so this video is right up my alley.

Bro the sc300 is the luxury supra it has the 1jz and can be modded pretty hard also it has arguably the best lines of the Lexus line up at least imo. Love the sc300 & 400 basically heavier luxury supras and the sc430 while it looked pretty bad it at one point got a 3uz shoved into that thing and turned into a sc430gt race car.

When building(loading tunes) cars B A S1 S2 class focus on GRIP primarily. Increasing Rear anti roll stiffness, car pressure, and somehow (read sometimes) bump, spring stiffness can increase further cornering GRIP. Most of the weaker class cars in this game are mostly shit, and cant be tuned to get good acceleration, speed and grip. But i managed to build couple of cars that are great. I can share codes if anyone want to try.
Plus depending on the car and track i turn on/off traction, stability. Manual shifting is only good for weaker cars in C and B class. Rest of them is much better with automatic. For example i drove Supra in A class with custom tune loaded from some player, it has 8 speed, but it needs like 3 speed downshifting in some corners, so manual is useless.
Also a lot of tuners obviously dont know how to increase car turning ability (dont know or dont increase toe out), for me toe out is a MUST to have better turn in, and it does not effect anything, it can go up to -1.5 without any problems.
I have a SC300 and a SC400. 220hp stock on the 300 is generous, the 400 maybe

I must say with the changed physics in FH5 I REALLY dislike AWD outside of dirt / off road. They are so much more unresponsive than RWD cars even up in S2 class. My favorite A Class sports car in FH4 was the starter Audi TT RS but I just can't make 4WD cars as nimble as I need them in FH5.

Does it really matter if you lose some top speed if your gearing is set such that you never really use top gear (no i'm not advising people to do so, but seems like many people do). I tend to set my gearing so that i just hit top of the top gear or slightly bounce on the limiter rather than being stuck at 1-2 gear down due to lack of power.

Alex, *please* turn your game to Performance Mode! These videos are only at 30fps and it's unwatchable after years of buttery smooth 60fps FH4 content. 👍

it sucks that FH5 has no circuits where having rear wheel good handling cars isnt punished as unless its a fast long corner where you can easily just swing by even by the other drivers just being bad they demolish your speed in corners ruining your cars strong point and thus leaving it no way of winning
is it just me or is the graphics in FH5 less realistic than in FH4? Im sure they are technically "better" in 5, but the result to me is less realistic

I've known Aero > Power (at least for racing games like Forza) since I was 14. It's always the way, especially in a RWD build A class or above (B Class and above for older Forza Motorsport games)
Horizon 4 was a beautiful game, with rich landscapes and European culture emanating
at almost every turn. 5 looks ugly, empty and boring, like a playground that was left to rot.

The maps are very similar, with a variety of terrains, one large-ish city, several small towns, deserts, forests, rivers, motorways, and european lorries for some reason.
