The song itself doesn't have much to do with the scene, but somehow it fits and works very well. Miami Vice was not just a cop TV show, it was a lot more. It was a tv series that practically defined a decade and captured the feel and look of the 80's with its brilliant use of music, fashion, decor, and guest celebrities of the time.
1:42 don johnson said in an interview that him and p.m. thomas weren't told that leon would fall to the side after touching him. they were just told leon would fall after a second touch into crockets arms. michael mann, who directed this whole scene in person wanted to have a natural reaction from don johnson and p.m. thomas, so he only told the leon actor to fall instantly to the side ( to the ground) after the first touch so that don johnson couldn't catch him. if you stop at 1:46 johnson almost caught him though and there is also a cut before leon rolling the stairs down
@@gabrielpalacios624 you won't find it, it's a cover version by a local band from miami that did some live acts but never released any recordings except exclusively in a studio for this episode
Wouldn’t it be funny if it was one of Bubba’s siblings in the 1980’s played by the same actor?! Could be a cool reference to the Forrest Gump movie with the actor 😎

This song actually has a lot to do with this scene. There's a bunch of beautiful girls having fun in the background.

I like the zoom in on Leon when Trini walks up to him then on Tubbs when Sonny walks up behind him and places his hands on Tubb's shoulder.
Love the tension in this particular scene
What a time to be alive. I am jealous
I don't know why but I like this version of Girls just wanna have fun better than the original.

The guy played Leon was Mykelti Williamson from Waiting To Exhale, ATL with T.I. and The Final Destination.
Don't forget
Benjamin Buford Blue aka Bubba from Forrest Gump!]
Even though I've seen the original music video This will always be the original music video to me, cuz I seen this one first.....
It’s amazing the movement a dead man has
and what kind of performance is this?
