I just love how Alastor clearly couldn't care less about being a father figure to Charlie and just wants to mess with her father, who's the KING OF HELL. The man just doesn't care
He’s got balls of steel to taunt the devil himself that’s for sure
Lucifer had the audacity to not acknowledge him
In alestors eyes that’s truly the worst insult
He knows Charlie would not like that at all so that's why he is eating it.
Well it's already been hinted at that Alastor is working for Lilith, as she's the only one left in hell that's way stronger than him. So maybe getting Charlie to trust him is part of the plan.
@@andrewmichael9201 Alastor is a great character, but c'mon. Even if he saw that as an insult, what could he possibly do to Lucifer? The most he could do is annoy him...which he has already done.
Whoever decided to make an electroswing duet between Lucifer and Alastor where they’re constantly trying to one-up each other deserves a raise of at least 3 million dollars.

A marketable plushie!
That’s my favorite scene
A lot of people are thinking Alastor really sees Charlie as a daughter but actually don't realize that he was trying to piss Lucifer off. It's HILARIOUS.
The deliberate head turn and eye contact as he said it had me cackling. It's so funny that he immediately HATES Lucifer as soon as he stepped in the door. I'm assuming from fan theories it has something to do with Lilith but whatever the case is- that line delivery was personal😂
He really should learn his place considering Lucifer could vaporize him
Given that Lucifer being dismissive of him seemed to genuinely push his buttons, I wouldn’t be surprised if Al actually did see himself as a parental figure in Charlie’s life, just out of spite.
That thing where you start off doing something just to be contrary, then dig in your heels because you’re stubborn, and eventually it becomes sincere because you’re in for a penny, in for a pound.
(Also, tbf - all of the sinners in Hell do seem to have “Pride” as a motif in their motivations and attitudes)
He looked annoyed from the very start of the song. I think they're both just jealous of each other. I don't think he really sees Charlie as a daughter, but he may care for her and is genuinely jealous of Lucifer
wish he did tho, that would’ve been so sweet
Love how Luci's attitude goes from "this man is trying to pull moves on my daughter" to "oh thank god my daughter likes girls" THEN TO "OH THIS MAN IS TRYING TO STEAL MY SPOT"
There was a popular fan comic where Lucifer's response to Vaggie was "you like girls [Charlie]? Me too" felt like an homage to the fans.
Al really pushing his buttons lol.

I remember before the show aired when a lot of people would portray Lucifer as sexy, suave, and manipulative, and I am so glad that depiction wasn't what we got.

It’s almost hilarious how everyone was portraying Lucifer as this cruel, stoic smiling, calm, who could wipe out anyone within milliseconds (memory to that one animatic of Lucifer straight up burning the hotel down), and then the show happened and he’s just.. a silly guy trying to be a dad.
Alastor: "IT'S A LITTLE FUNNY. YOU COULD ALMOST CALL ME DAAAAAD!!!"

I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him.
It's honestly really funny seeing Alastor "break character" like how he got annoyed by the egg guys or that one overlord bruising his ego.
Speaking of Gold, I guess in this universe Lucifer never made that Trip to Georgia
@@AnthonyDaFoxMaybe he beat Johnny in this universe.
Caring dad just wait he is totally gonna screw her over when he gets what he wants he is the father of lies and does not serve anyone but himself.
It fits the narrative. This is the guy who created Hell BY MISTAKE.
Honestly what I love most about this song, is that we all know Alastor doesn't really care about some father-daugther bond with Charlie and he's just doing it to piss Lucifer off
I like how when lucifer sings the back goes light and alastor’s goes dark to show lucifer is a fallen angel and alastor is a radio demon
Nice pfp
Love that Alastor is just blatantly lying about his relationship with Charlie to get under Lucifer's skin. He has NEVER wanted to be a father figure to the hotel gang, he’s just being a pr*ck to the literal king of hell. And it's iconic.
Funny enough I think his very first line is genuine to some degree. Even if it's only because they amuse him or he was sent there by Lilith, I do think he enjoys his time around the hotel and it's shenanigans.
I think he’s either going to betray them or he’s gonna start getting attached.
I think this show is going to end with Alastor getting redemption or something.
@@therealopaartist although, out of all the main hotel cast, I think he'll be the last ti get redeemed. Probably Nifty is the only exclusion. Alastor has only shown that he revels in the pain and suffering of others, whereas the others in the hotel ARE suffering.

Golden houur
Literally
So you’ve chosen the fiddle* lol
This is as golden as the fiddle
I'm gonna actually go on the limb and say Alastor was legitimately jealous.
Not because he views Charlie as a daughter, but because he has pride in his work, and the entire hotel has basically become "his." So Charlie(who's the heart of the whole thing) getting help from the 1 person Alastor truly has no power over is like he's getting cut out of the 1 thing he's genuinely putting effort into(which is supported by him kicking out probably the closest individual he had as a friend, purely because they weren't taking Charlie's dream seriously, and were bringing harm to the hotel).
I completely agree
Oh, there's so much. All of this yes, I also think he deeply fears powerlessness and being dismissed. Lucifer replacing him would certainly sting. I think it's interesting that once he reinforces his value, (by defending the hotel and kicking out Mimzy), he suddenly doesn't give af about Lucifer anymore. OH and we know he's being controlled by someone which he's also extremely insecure and terrified about. I wonder if he's not at the hotel out of his free will, but rather his owner WANTS him to be there for some reason. **cough** Lilith **cough** If Lucifer had successfully replaced him, who knows what repercussions he could have faced for his failure?
That could be the case. This ring of Hell is Pride, after all. The overlords are perfect examples.
@@BuckerydogSchmuckeryDog Lilith 100% has his soul, not even Alastor would go this far JUST for entertainment. Lilith most likely gave him all this power just so he could ensure Charlie's plans succeed, also so he can snuff out any overlords who would get in her way. Alastor doesn't strike me as power hungry, so I bet everything he has done has been under Lilith's watch.

I was so scared they would've gone a different route making Alastor say "Daddy" instead of "Dad". It would've made that scene so much more uncomfortable.
Radio Demon did a great burn there, though
The slow head turn was so devious, I love it
Alastor is a master manipulator. He saw Lucifer's lackluster reaction to the hotel, so he intentionally started acting like Charlie's 'replacement dad' to make Lucifer jealous so he would choose to help her - and by extension, help whatever Alastor is trying to do at the hotel. He's really good at this lmao
He's fucking brilliant
I think that although Alastor is definitely manipulating Lucifer, he also did it out genuine jealousy. Alastor is a narcissist and was jealous Lucifer stole all the attention. He also genuinely looked pissed at Lucifer even when nobody was looking at him, so it definitely wasn’t an act.
Oh I don't doubt any of that. Alastor's first goal was manipulation, then getting some attention and sticking it to the biggest boss of Hell for fun. He's a lot of things at once!@@lolscience1979
@lolscience1979 true. Look at his eye twitching when Lucifer shows up. Also, him not knowing him? His ego was damaged. The leesh being brought up too. That's why he was so determined to show his power off at the end. Insecurity deep down

Song: the devil went down to Georgia.
I hear Charlie Daniel's Band did a follow-up song where Lucifer gets his fiddle back from Johnny. Can't imagine it went well for him. Johnny, that is.
I like how everyone expected Lucifer to be the most intimidating guy ever but he turns out to be the exact opposite and is just a nervous anti-social dad
Probably because of how he was alone by himself making rubber duckies for who knows how long?
in the wiki his personality section states that Viv thinks he is a goofy silly boy
Reminder that lucifer has been the King of Hell since the very begining, no one has been able to unseat him, Alistor is using his daughter as a shield from which to chalenge him behind.
@@johnbraithwaite863there was a theory as well that Alastor is on a Lilith’s leash, so maybe his kindness is forced by Charlie’s mother. BTW I believe Lucifer is such a goofster cuz he was an angel long before and he is too strong to care and be intimidating.
He definitely gave that vibe with all the pictures of him smiling in such a sinister way. I was expecting alastor 2.0
The funniest thing about this whole interaction is that it perfectly highlight Alastor’s biggest weakness: his pathological need to be the most important person in the room. He was gone for 7 years, none of the other overlords cared where he went or what he was doing. Demons weaker than him annoying him and disrespecting him? Their screams of agony are broadcast all across Hell. The King of Hell shows us? Well, Alastor simply can’t compete in terms of power, but Lucifer does NOT like the idea of anyone else filling the father figure role of Charlie’s life. So, Alastor tries his hand at taking that spot.
🙌🙌🙌
Every winner is someone else’s loser. Alastor assumed he could slip back into the city and immediately cause waves like he did in his heyday, but he’s not the only person who got stronger in his 7 year absence, and there were always more powerful forces (like Lucifer) who could crush him like a bug. Vox and Vaggie appear to be the only people who even cared about his return, Vaggie because she’s obsessed with keeping Charlie safe and Vox because he’s still mad that Alastor refused his offer and then didn’t die for it.
@@Initiallyleo We didn't see the whole effect os his return yet... and well, as Alastor obviouslly don't try to control all Hell or something like that, his return is more like... his rival's problem, so everybody else don't need to drop a sweat. Vox, otherwise, who probably tried to take over all Alastor's domain when he destroyed all the old Pride Overlords, looks Desperate. Valentino looks like holds more on Lust Circle, so he is only entertained by Vox is desperation and anger, as he casually mentions how Alastor almost destroyed Vox in the past
@@CanetaErrantegreat argument

@@ironmetal3779 Probably more like antihero. Not really aligned with or against the protagonist, just has a singular goal and will do anything for it and the alignment doesn't matter. Even if that goal is just entertainment.

Honestly they both have so much rizz, they deserve to be sexy-men, better yet tumblr SM fighting to the death.
BRO I THOUGHT SAME 😂

OMG I'M HOWLING
I love how much they actually portray Lucifer's power without ever actually showing him fight. Like with Alastor, sure, we've seen the fighting he can do, but Lucifer is easily creating like 6 fully tangible clones, full structures of caviar and champagne, easily teleporting multiple people, etc.
With the implication of Charlie having reality warping stuff from the pilot, it's cool to imagine Lucifers perfected that and all the tugging with other people during the song is because he can actually just do that.
@@aspen1889 Like during his little blows with alastor at the end of their part, alastor shoulder checks lucifer, but lucifer just kinda blasts him away lmao
Assuming these songs are literal feats and abilities then...
Luicifer has the abilities to change size, clones, create artificial objects, portals, angelic power/maybe a angel or demon form (maybe a more dangerous form like Charlie has), teleportation, flight, Pyrokonesis, can bring life to objects, and some more.
i mean he is an angel he has the power to create anything just like how the other angels created life and the earth so i wouldn't be surprised if he can actually do that
@@AdjustedDisparitythis song was CLEARLY taking slight inspiration from ‘Friend Like Me’ and I adore that, especially how it adds to the visuals with Lucifer’s powers
Alastor: "You could almost call me DAAAAD"
Lucifer: So you have chosen violins
GIVE WHOEVER MADE THIS A PAY RAISE
Alastor in a nun outfit is something I never would have expected, and the scene with him and Niffty is surprisingly adorable actually, and Lucifer aggressively playing a violin is pretty funny, who knew that Lucifer was musically gifted, no wonder Charlie sings to get her point across, she learned it from her dad
I mean we got Vox in a pope outfit during his song in episode 2 so it works.
almost all of devil myths revolve around music, Robert Johnson(blues player), Niccolò Paganini(violinist), Johnny(the fiddler), and the beetles (I think)
Reminded me of the “The Devil went down to Georgia” song xD
@@jonahdza it's a reference lol
Lucifer is actually often told to be a violin player, or in general a talented musician.
What’s killing me about this is Charlie taking Alastor’s “affection” seriously lol. She is too sweet for this world 😭
Both are equally petty and a bit facetious 😂
I would love to see alastor actually start to care and basically have some self doubt on what he's being there for,
Seeing how much he actually cares for her "potential" in the seventh episode maybe he actually cares for her but more as someone he can shape. As a tool he cares about
What if the target of Al's manipulation, at least in this case, was Lucifer, not Charlie? i.e., Alastor was just pretending to make a move on the 'dad niche' for Charlie to manipulate Lucifer into taking a more active interest in the Hotel?
@@martinnavarrete5279 are you thinking kinda like niffty?

I love Lucifer, his characterisation is incredible, I'm glad he was portrayed as a dad who's trying his best instead of a poweful angry ruler
It's not surprising considering both Charlie and what most of the Sins are like. Of the ones we've seen Mammon is the only real "evil" one.
Solo lo dijo para molestar a lucifer
He’s my new Fav character now I love Lucifer❤

I think this lucifer Is More of a burnt out villain, he already had His prime And Is now mostly goofing around
I am surprised Mimzy isn't the most hated character because she just cut short arguably the best song with 2 of the best characters
As long as her moment isn't a copout, like Millie's was in Helluva Boss season 2, there's no way the fans will hate Mimzy. Too many were waiting to see her part in the show.
@@sxatcychan1988She was meh tbh
I think its because it was done in a hilarious way.
I'll be honest it was for the best, Fisticuffs were about to be put up.
It makes the song end on a weak note but the plot needed her for some exposition and to setup the third act resolution.
1:35 pog face
It’s funny how Alastor has to bend down to be face to face with lucifer
Yes, the "agressive violin/accordion" is great but the "I WAP! BAP! BOOM! ALAKAZAM!" Is just so adorable 😭
It was a gold fiddle in reference to the song the devil went down to Georgia

@@OverlordAlastor🤓
can we all acknowledge that Alastor just got away with challenging Lucifer to a sing off, matched him at every blow, got under his skin, mocked him TO HIS FACE in front of his daughter.
and he lived (in a sense) to tell the tale?
Gotta give credit to lucifer too, alastor is always compose and in control in any situation yet lucifer easily gets under alastors nerves
The fact lucifer manage to make alastor curse at him out of anger was incredible
I'm guessing he didn't wanna cause a seen in front of his daughter
@@Haphu15 I think he cursed due to his ego being hurt, but he wouldn't dare to smack the shit out of the Lucifer in front of Charlie, as he probably would do with any other random demon, who dared to mock him. But truly I haven't seen it coming, the fact that Alastor actually cursed was so unexpected. Does he even uses this word anywhere else? I don't recall, cuz even when Husk stood up to him and dared to get under his skin, even then Alastor didn't curse, despite being dead serious in his threats
@@BeastRedAshIf Alastor tried to physically hurt Lucifer, he’d be snapped like a twig in under 2 seconds.

I just love Charlies whole exprestion, she's like w0w thats sooooo cool dad. when Lucifer says the "Pure angelic power" part.
I feel very bad for Charlie here. She just believes in everything Alastor says. She doesn’t even realize just how little Alastor cares
Oh yeah… wait ‘til she realizes that he actually doesn’t care about her or her dream as much as she thought, she’ll be devastated
The pilot is canon. And that's important, because in said pilot, Alastor comes right out and says he doesn't believe in her dream and only wants to help for the entertainment. And Charlie concedes that she know's he's dangerous and doesn't share her vision, but that they need his help and it would be a betrayal of her ideals to turn him away.
If anything, what you just described is a potential trap for the writers to fall into where they might forget about what the pilot established all those years ago. But it's worthless as a potential plot point for Charlie later on.
I mean he did tell Mimzy to get lost because she brought danger to the hotel. I say he cares a little
I believe the pilot was deemed Not Canon. And Alastor Trying to be Charlie’s father figure is most likely from having a shitty father himself. At least to me, I think alastor is trying to One-up His own father rather than actually being mad at Lucifer.
Hazbin inspires me.. My parents said if i get 70K followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording..begging u guys , literally

@@wilberwhateley7569 nothing, Charlie said that they've never been close. And that he had no interest in her. And they started seeing each other even less when her parents divorces.
@@wilberwhateley7569 I think she does not say bad things about him but she divorced him because he lost his passion that first got them together
This entire song is just Alastor doing everything he can to annoy Lucifer and succeeding very well
Lucifer did insult him in the song as a bus boy who could be cooked as food.
I love the irony.
Every song alastor is in just turns into the two singing arguing
All of his songs are basically that. His songs are either forcing his way into someone else's song and twisting it on its head, or parodying someone else's to have the opposite meaning. In this song, Lucifer is only really focussing on what he can materially offer his daughter, and an intrinsic bond they have based on blood, having had a very estranged relationship with her for a while now. So Alastor chose to sing about found family and more personal support. This says nothing about how he actually feels about Charlie - it's just what she knew she'd respond to most positively, and what he thought would piss off Lucifer the most since he couldn't offer the same thing.
66 updoots. Perfect xD
Lucifer seems like to be the only one capable of making Alastor drop his gentleman act and even stop smiling just before Mimzy arrive.
That "All right then..." at the start is woefully underrated!
