It's still sad to see people born and raised here having to move away. I lived on the mainland for almost 40 years, seen most of the mainland and was fortunate enough to be able to finally move back. There are beautiful places there but there's no place like home. Hawai'i no ka oi!!
I’m happy that all of these families have adjusted to their new life and seem to be thriving, but at the same time I am extraordinarily sad for all of the Kānaka Maoli that have been forced to leave their beautiful home of Hawaii.😢😓
everyone i know who left never regretted it. All are thriving like the vid says
Hahahaha.....housing costs will have to come down in Hawaii.......bwahahaha!!!! 😂
The government put too much emphasis on the homeless and immigrants and they need to get rid of the Hawaii Tourism Board, let the hotels advertise for themselves they have a budget for those things.
It's nice to see the locals doing well up there. It makes me think of my outer island relatives and businesses out there. With opportunity, also comes broader horizons that is accessible for the kids. Just as all the old businesses on Oahu and outer islands, as they grew in success, so did the availability of the offspring to go college, become professionals and do other things. My dad's side moved to California and most of the cousins and their offspring are professionals, traveling to East Coast and overseas for work/pleasure. The businesses that the parents are starting will be like some of the old time favorites now closing because none of the relatives want to work long hours and continue those operations. One of the conversations people might have is how long does a transplant to the islands take to be local. The opposite question might be when does a local no longer be a local?
No matter what anybody says, go where you are treated the best!
Build more. Make things less scared. Do you want to stay or not??
Eh cannabis is legal there as well Hawaii is anti legal weed
BRING ON THE HAOLES TO HAWAII.
Hawaii with no Hawaiians , Like WTF!!
To some point you get tired of the free beaches and million dollar homes. Time to move on.
I don’t care about “Hawai’i residents” being priced out, I only care about Hawaiians being priced out. This is OUR ancestral homelands & “Hawai’i residents” are the reason we’re being priced out of our homelands.
Also, “building costs” is not the main reason for how expensive it is. LAND prices is why it’s so expensive, that’s the majority of the cost. And again, it’s “Hawai’i residents” flooding OUR islands that are causing land prices to go up.
Why focus only on LV, as if it's the only option? I moved and have since OWNED 4 homes on ALL 3 COASTS. LV is ONE dimensional, HOT and UGLY.
Well, aren't you the lucky one. 4 homes? wow! das awesome.
LV is home to the ADVERSARY/SATAN.....no thanks
That’s how Hawai’i came to Life, people exploring for something better.
Hawaii is the best place to live in the world Live is always struggling no matter where you live
