So I can't even get 5% off new copies of games, but I can get 5% off a game that's pretty much was already 70% off and covered in scratches. No thanks, this is a bad subscription.

I used to love the game informer but this past two years I was only receiving them every other month and was having to run into my local GS to pick up the other issues. The Membership sucks these days. I'm glad I didn't bother renewing.
Not worth it. So instead of paying 8.75% in tax, I'll pay 3%! Wow! Owning this membership in California is not worth it.

Definitely a downgrade. Like you said, you're basically paying $10 more for the same subscription
I’ve been a subscriber for years. Almost doubling the price for 5% off pre-owned games (and a bunch of other shit that I’ll never buy) is a hard no from me.

So I was told that in order to purchase a ps5, I needed to have a pro membership. Is this true, or did the guy at the counter scam me to get this membership that I'm never really going to use?
The only time I've heard of that was at the very beginning of PS5 sales when they were still super rare. But I haven't seen Gamestop use that tactic in maybe a year?
I had a cousin who worked at gamestop during the ps5 releases. You do not NEED a pro membership to buy a ps5. But gamestop CLAIMED they'd let pro members buy the in-stock ps5's first. But this was not true, as gamestop would sell the ps5 to whoever came into the store first. Gamestop just used this as a way to try and get more members.

Still a solid subscription. I buy all sorts of games and toys throughout the year and save well over $25 a year even before it went up to $25 for the membership. I just saved $120 during pro week during the BOGO free games (Pokémon snap, wario, paper Mario, and sonic frontier)
If you only buy one or two games a year then yea it’s probably not for you. I’ve saved a ton especially on Mario toys
