In my humble opinion, if you have a lot of money, do not belittle yourself and live the life of the wealthy, but without extravagance. I believe that some things do not make any difference whether they are original or imitation, but when it comes to the quality of use, the difference is clear and tangible. Regarding clothing I find some of the copy t shirts are good and last quite well. Food- yes some crazy prices for the same things. I find 40-100tb dishes most of the time is better than more pricey restaurants 😅

Living in Canada, we get products much cheaper than in Bangkok, plus we also have sales usually up to 50% off the lowest sale price. 90% off the products I can buy in Thailand, I can by for much cheaper here in Canada. Now if we are talking about food, then Thailand is MUCH cheaper and better!

I LIKE to eat in air-conditioned mall food courts for casual meals if the weather is hot or humid. But Bangkok has many open air markets and street stalls. No such thing as the best market, it's the vendor your buying from. When the vendor your buying meals from and they get to know you they go the Extra mile to look after you to keep you comming back. Sitting on a shaky stool and you meal being cooked by some old granny who puts her heart and sole and treats you like her family in Bangkok thriving community. Is really what Thailand is about.

Chinatown in Kuala lumpur is cheap for copy sunglasses. They have more variety of brands on sale too. Same as watches. Much cheaper than Thailand.
