Great video ,I was born in Cuba ,now i live in the USA , but my ancestors are all from Villa Franca del Bierzo, they migrate to Cuba looking for fortune wich they already had in Spain ,they lost every penny in Cuba thanks to bad family members, my advice ,if you already good economicaly do not take any unnecesary chances, greed is not good, people from this town are known for being very hospitable and nice. thank you ladies
6:49 I may have mentioned it, but I saw a graffito. O Berzo xa fala galego. In other words, while Bierzo is León and not Galicia, this doesn't mean Galego is not spoken.
2:14 It didn't happen here, but there was a Church on the camino where that cover above one entrance was my shelter against theoretically possible rain for a night.
@@staceyandmollypilgrims I had the honour to stay with a couple in Santiago, after the first night which was at the Seminary, the Seminarians giving hospitality to Pilgrims. We went to a bar called "Momo na rua" - after Momo in Michael Ende's book, I think the English translation is _Momo and the Grey Gentlemen._
Yes. I thought that I might have footage if you guys, but I didn’t have any. We were so glad for breakfast and distracted by the cat, that I didn’t do much filming.
That stretch took me two days. Remember I had to go to the dentist in Ponferrada? Well, they didn't pull the tooth, they gave me penicilline. This certainly helped to get rid of the toothache, with the acute caries infection, but not immediately. Hence, I was in a fairly lousy shape those days.
3:18 It can be added, the smell of eucalypus is molecules that also kill bacteria and viruses. Have you ever taken throat losenges with the taste combination mentol - eucalyptus? Well, it kills off those nasty buggers that cause the throatache. Obviously, they are also great just for the taste.
I’m on Day 24, enjoying walking with you both. Appreciate your historical commentaries as we go along. Molly, I’ve been wanting to ask you, Did you do well in Cross Country after all this as a type of work out?
We did pre-book everything. We are going to make a video on why and how we did that. The apps we used while walking were Wise Pilgrim for info and Buen Camino for navigation. And, yes, these walks are giving us something special that we can share.
Hi, Question: What device or app told you "Kilometer 2, 14 minutes 27 seconds."? Just curious. I've heard that ring out in some of your other videos. Seems like a useful thing. Thanks.

I have learned a little Gallego, too, and I can understand it pretty well. My parents-in-law are Gallegos.
@@staceyandmollypilgrims It's a nice part of the Spanish Kingdom.
And, yes, the empanadas are great.

5:32 That shelter is even better.
9:22 While I didn't meet José, I like this kind of people.
I agree. We talked to him for at least half an hour.

much!!! Buen Camino.

Thank you for that video! That was the little kitty 😉 .

At 8:36 - A BEAUTIFUL BIG WHITE MASTIFF PUPPY DOG !!! - SUPER CUTE
That puppy was 8 months old and over 100 pounds. He was so gentle.
9:34 Cacabelos is, I think, where I slept between the destinations you took in one day.
That stretch took me two days.

I believe that you are correct. It is the molecule 1,8-cineole. I am a biochemist....
@@staceyandmollypilgrims Ah, thank you!
Always nice to know one is correct if it's the case!
Looks really great except for the closeness to the cars along some of the road.
Correct. The cars aren’t great.
14:44 Does the Albergue Ave Fenix still exist?
I don't specifically remember it, but don't know for sure.
@@staceyandmollypilgrims That's where I stayed in Villafranca del Bierzo.

She did have a good season. I think it really helped her confidence as well as her strength.
Just wondering did you prebook all your accommodation? Which Camino apps did you use. We love your videos and such a bonding experience for you both.

That was my Apple Watch. I was tracking the distance as a hiking workout each day.
@@staceyandmollypilgrims Yeah, that's cool. I will do that. Much Thanks!
Laughing out loud at the pairing!
I have no idea what was motivating all the Michael Jackson graffiti.
