Poet who wrote this divine "bhajan" (devotional song) was the sage Guru Nanak, first of the 10 founding gurus of Sikh tradition. He lived in 15th century northwest India (Punjab). A Vedic scholar, a Yogi and a spiritual philosopher, he abhorred discrimination, oppression and hatred that had seeped into the caste system within Hindu society. He preached "equality, fraternal love, goodness, and virtue" and the existence of One Absolute Truth (God) that is manifested in all of His creation. As the title of this sweet bhajan mean, Nanak's principal message was to speak the truth and to love Prabhu (God) to achieve the ultimate bliss
jin Prem Kiyo, Tin hi Prabh Payo - - The meaning has been Mis-stated by so called learneds and priests.
Meaning is - One who Loves, He/She finds God , It does NOT mean "One who Love God, Finds God". If the latter meaning told by priests were true, then that would mean one has already found God so in a way God is coming first and then Love. hen what is the need to Love God - God has already been found - Love or not!!
But NO, that is not the Path - That is not the Way.The Way is - "Love is God". One who finds Love eventually finds God. That Love can start with a Person, with an animal, with even a Tree but it has to be Love like a Mother Loves the Baby or like we feel love for Puppy ... The biggest fallacy is that Love changes to Possession however, if one Meditates, the Love grows from the other (person, animal, tree, whatever) to Unconditional Love and Unconditional Love is Bhakti - The Step towards Onkar and God. One who reaches Bhakti or Love for All can eventually find Onkar and Ik Onkar Satnaam - The Path to Oneness.

This is a composition by the tenth master Guru Gobind Singh.
Actually this bhajan was written by 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji (in his bani Taveparsad Savaea) not by Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Satinder Kaur do we believe that all gurus where in fact the incarnation of the first..or is it more accurate to say they were carries of the same jot of akal purak..

As per my knowledge this is written by 10th jot /light of Guru Nanak (Guru Gobind Singh Sahib)- As we cannot say Japp ji Sahib is written by Guru Gobind Sahib ji. I wrote whatever i feel, otherwise this matter of your believe.
