This was one of Beth’s stupid moments. She dismissed everyone when they warned her about Edmund. Like cmon Beth, not everyone is wrong. Then she had married and had a kid with Alan. Bill cougar thing, Rick vs Philip thing. Only two guys she was ever with weren’t power hungry narcissists and that was Rick and James. James died and her and Rick were over. The nice guys never lasted long.
They gave Rick's the weirdest I am going to be a dad stories him and Harley were just not a good couple. Then the kid he had with Mel they super sorased her she went from newborn to fifteen in two years.

I thought the acting was excellent when harley was telling Frank and when Rick was telling Michelle. Powerful.
