- My first match in Gato was a disaster because I got rushed by a shima and my torps did not activate but the very next match THIS happened. I can only imagine what I could do with this vessel if I continued playing it.

Resistance is futile. You see Trenlass taking out subs on a fairly regular basis and mopping the floor with other classes and no impact.

DDs OP. Keep buffing subs and carriers. Maybe allow carriers to drop minefields: now, there’s an idea!
(Seriously, good idea. Sadly any concept to buff consumables for existing classes to keep up is most likely DOA.)

I really wish that you and all other unicum players would play only subs and cv-s from now on and smack the sht out of everyone untill WG finally admit that we were right!
I legit think this is the only way. Unicums playing in platoons (or whatever its called in WoWs) and combining CV with op subs.

From an unicum perspective: not all good players are streamers. Although maybe Flambass could pull it out for the keks and have the effect on the ''public'', the most of us anonymous players would get bored very fast, as playing only dented classes would become overbearing and annoying with minimal chances of an ''investment return''. WG would not bend. At the end of the day, unicums and casuals are not that much different - both play for the fun and not politics or the money.
the watchful talent works like this, it lets you know if something would detect you. now you have to know whats around you to know if its hydro or radar. It doesnt tell you which, just that there is something running hydro or radar and youre within its range. now if youre on the surface and you see it pop up, that means a sub is using SS and if you dive youll get detected. Hydro will detect subs at periscope depth at 5km, and you will detect a sub no matter what depth they are at if they are within 2km and hydro is running. as far as sub hydro, there is no way to know if you are being spotted by it or not. until the planes start coming in, but sub hydro detects only surface ships and subs at periscope depth.
I just had a battle against a Gato, so I popped on UA-cam and found any video to talk about it. The Gato popped up really close to me but not in a position to fire torps. So I raced over to it in my DD and dropped depth charges. I hit it 24 times. It survived, stayed under and we never saw it again for the rest of the game.
You make me feel dirty because I came back to the game after about 1.5 years and I like subs... Love the vids!

What I’d like to see is wargaming implement non CV and sub servers for those still wanting to play the game but not have to deal with the cv and sub cancer we currently are all experiencing in this game.
More like game mode, so co-op, solo and then a no CV or sub mode.
I’d actually start playing the game again.

what you did to that marseille is "'completely fine'' - he thoroughly enjoyed the game experience that he had. He was "blown away" with all of the counterplay options he had available to him. Shotgunning is not a thing in wows..........

Flambass:
Never was supposed to be fair Flambass. US submarines accounted for literally more than half of all Japanese ship losses in WW2! If you count manpower, submariners only made up less than 2% of the entire U.S. Navy in WW2. So no It's not fair and it shouldn't be lol.

Got "shot gunned" yesterday by a sub in a tier 10 cruiser. Popped up 2km in front of me, nothing I could. Yet wargaming claims this doesn't happen! F... All subs and F... Wargaming for ruining this game!
It clearly shows it needs obvious buff. I think we clearly saw, the Depth planes needs nerf. You lost way too much HP.

Im not a CC and I dont play subs, I only play all ships including subs as much as I have to. I find subs boring and unbalanced af
@@Flambass well, in the eyes of vast majority of your audience you are still viewed as a CC and while I learend A LOT from you in these 6-7 years I would still prefere to not learn from you about playing subs (or CVs (hint: Eagle) while we are at it) . Love you still tho xD

Watching this confirms that my decision to leave the game after the introduction of Subs was the right one!
3k base exp for 215k damage, with no objective play, very little spotting, and basically no tanking.
No damage done against DDs or submarine.
But WG tells us that experience earning ins't inflated for submarines. Suuuuure.
Oh subs definitely get inflated BXP, I got Gato and since the start of June I got 3 max xp records with it. Wasn't even that my original record was that low.
Torpedo hits give more bxp than usual

@@Voygliz CV Rework initially pushed me close to the edge, then saw Subs and uninstalled. Have not gone back since.
Why does the sub have a 25 seconds damage con? And not 5 seconds like most cruisers/dds....

"Dont drive in straight lines when you're spotted" is a pretty basic pointer for WoWS like how the fuck do I have to be the one to tell you this?
The speed of subs in this game is the most hilarious thing to me. Gato class had a top speed surfaced of 21kts and submerged 9kts. WoWs has the supercharged mega-Gato!
The Soviet K1 is practically uncatchable by any DD's apart from the French boats when modded out does 37knots stock which is insane...
@@hmmjedi Yeah it's so stupid that it circles around to hilarious. That and the fact that big fat battleships who were completely defenseless against subs are the best at attacking subs while DD's are not very good at it and sonar works in the game in some strange alternate universe where it doesn't actually locate subs.
I demand the next time you are playing any subs, you also need to play the JAWS theme music in the background.....

I don't play any of the games you upload to UA-cam but I still enjoy watching you play. I especially like the WOW cooperative play with trenlass. You both have an extensive understanding of the game strategy.
I thought seal clubbing happened at low tiers. I think that last kill was a suicide to end the pain.

Seal clubbing at low tiers on the NA server has been a dead sport for some time, too many experienced players just retreating from the high-tier anarchy. But WG brought it back! Now it is for high tier submarine players! Good of them to keep an ancient and (dis)honorable tradition alive.
Oh Holy hell! Subs are god damned ridiculous, and I though CV's were overpowered! Glad you had a good game though.
I do miss playing this game sometimes, it was kinda fun in the beginning, now nope not so much!
As compared to what submarines really did in World War II, they are rather underpowered. This is why surface action groups did their best to steer clear of submarines.

I got tortured by one off these in my moskva thankfully the rader prevented him from shot gunning me and he was unable to sink me but rendered me from playing at peek potential only good thing about that match was I was able to keep him occupied so the rest of my team could enjoy the game it was a loss but I still managed to out score him which was nice under the circumstance I find subs to be none issues most of the time but with a skilled and dedicated player it just make for a bad experience for everyone else's

@Flambass: Most of the people that are following you are seeing that it is broken. Nobody with a brain can be happy that something that is broken af is in the game. The gamepopulation is decreasing not because of the bad players its because WG gives a damn shit about there own games and are just milking them with bad decisions.

I haven't seen Greyhound, I don't know why it's not on DVD or why it didn't come to Australian cinema but I did read the book, and the non-combat dialogue and religious overtones had me gagging, so for the moment I'll just keep watching the action scenes I've bookmarked.
i hate submarines it's so funny that there are 2-4 players who think it's good that submarines are in the game, the others hate them. it's good that about 75-91% of the players on the map thought subs should have died from the start
All this time subs have been in the game and these high-tier Noooooooobs have not yet learned the magic “simple maneuver” that defeats all sub torpedoes. I am genuinely shocked.
I wish this isn't an actually good game, it would pain less seeing how they broke it and how is not fun to play it anymore.

That hindy sailed in a straight line for a full minute. He deserved to get torped.
He turned away, but then turned back again to similar course. And it is hard being in the backline kiting when suddenly single underwater rockets go and smash. Hard to predict and even harder to counter :D
still can't believe how fast these subs are. faster then many DDs.
In terms of unbuffed speed (No EPS, Speed boost, flags, etc.) the fastest T10 sub in the game (Gato) goes faster than approximately 2 DDs (Tromp, F. Sherman).
In terms of buffed speeds (EPS/ speed boost activated) The Gato goes faster than the F. Sherman, Druid, and Daring...
So even the fastest T10 sub is still slower than literally 90% of T10 destroyers.

You seem to have mastered the essence of World War II submarine warfare: get out in front of the target, let the target come to you, get in close, and fire from really short range. If anything, submarines are underpowered, since few if any destroyers or cruisers survived two torpedo hits, while battleships and carriers usually went down after three. On the other hand, the subs are way too fast. Twenty knots surfaced, ten knots submerged is pushing the realm of credibility. On the other hand, since the games are so short, subs should be able to remain submerged at full speed for the entire duration, since the maximum submerged speed is given at the "one hour rate", meaning the battery will be completely discharged after one hour.
Ah yes, the 'essence' of WW2 sub warfare. Travel at 30+ knots while submerged, intercept the battlefleet at full speed, survive multiple direct hits and depth charge attempts, evade hydro detection by diving (??), destroy the entire surface force of the opposing team. That sounds about right to what happened in the war.
You think a sub getting hit with a 5" shell from secondaries would survive more than 1 hit either? You think the showcased gameplay was underpowered? hm....
@@qyygle6058 You ignored my comment that the submarines are too fast--20 knots surfaced and 10 knots submerged will do, thank you. I could have commented on unlimited torpedoes, but that flaw extends to surface ships as well, not to mention the ability of ships with hydrophones and sonar to detect targets by sound while themselves moving at 20+ knots.
Slow the subs down, and the results would still be the same. The submarine threat was perceived by surface ship commanders that the mere report of a periscope (often imaginary) was enough to make not just a single ship, but a whole squadron or fleet, do a simultaneous turn away.
Most submarine attacks in World War II took place at ranges of less than 4000 yards, the average being 1500 yards, while some ace submarine commanders, determined not to miss, often closed to a point blank range of 1000-750 yards.
Every argument that Flambass complained about is true with DD's. Im a DD main. Shimikaze puts GATO to shame. And to be fair. a BB can zero out that ship with a broadside as well.

Wait a second... You get a warning that you are in detection range but aren't detected??! That is so messed up. :/
because detection by hydro is based on depth. it's a captain skill that gives you a warning that says "hey, if you surface now you'll get spotted"
6:33 how is that not fair? The guy never changed course once and didnt change speed until first torpedoes were seen. He was detected the whole time, never played defensive. Its somehow unfair you sunk him?
The key is - that guy changed speed twice on Flambass approad so there is a huge change of DD torps missing. He knew he is detected and he is firing back fighting. He does everything right.
The problem with Gato is that is can run at you with 2,1 km concealment and launch underwater rockets from 3km without you ever seeing that thing approach or have a change of detecting it. Flambino just made an excellent shotgunning maneuvre with 2x3 torps - first set to the ship, second set to its FF predicted path.

@@siriusczech the ship maintained its heading at all times. It only altered speed when it saw gatos first three torps in which is sped up trying to avoid and he launched a few more torps based on the new speed.
A dad couldn’t get as close but a dd would land the same torps against a target who doesn’t make significant speed or heading changes.
Seriously, Why TF, is Flambass, promoting playing Sub BS JFC.
