Met Lee Ralph when Tony mag came to Fairfield with the h street crew awesome bloke look in the background there a Sims pharoah on the wall very rare board
I wonder how many people know the Hill Brothers run & dominate Australian Skateboard distribution, they started the Hard Core & Globe shoe & Boost mobile companys and many others. They own the rights to distribute many of the worlds biggest skate, surf & sports brands in Australia. Their grandfather is the Mr Hill from Hills Hoist, yep same hill family. They got many Aussies their first ever skate sponsorship deal including myself. They pay pro's huge money to wear & advertise their brands, they create thousands of jobs & they throw the best industry partys anywhere on Earth.
Dude was riding a Variflex Jeff Jones! Then Lee Ralph totally blows off the blonde chick when she asks for a kiss, she gets all salty looking, good stuff. I am American and Lee Ralph was/is a legend here, totally one of a kind.
borgy i remember you R.I.P grind a cope air to air being a punk we don't care i know what these dudes were about less we forget the greatest free time we had ............................SKATE BOARD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
VISION Streetwear, I always wanted a pair of those shoes but I remember the skateboard fad very well here. In 1988 there still the BMX bike fad and gangs going as well, there was an uneasy alliance and sometimes a truce between skateboarders and BMX bike riders but territory fights would break out though...Places like Kmart, Big W or Target were always selling both bikes and boards but the boards were more popular eventually because of price practicality even though riding bikes around the neighbourhood was norm for that time. Even some markets sold boards as well, those typical neon generic coloured boards that were turned down by hardcore boarders because of all the safety add ons...Now after 36 years plus, those very same generic coloured neon boards are now more prized than say the now generic Vision boards because they're more unique in their 80's colours and style as well as being rare with their random logo's. A complete 360 turn around...Crazy huh.
I taped this on the night it came out, must have watched it hundreds of times. Classic to see it online!
