If it weren't for AA, I would not have gotten the courage to deal with the trauma of my childhood. I did what I had to do to find the peace I had been searching for all my life. Today I have a God that I truly trust and Jesus who forgave my sins which I thought were unforgivable. Today, I deal with whatever comes up as best I can, with the help of God and Jesus. Your story is very healing for me . Thank you.

I appreciate Russ so much, his solo music in the 80's into the early 90's when I first got saved ministered to me and got me through some very difficult times.

I've never heard his music, but I understand the place he came from all too well. The horrid and truly evil things that my own father said and did to me are beyond what most good people can comprehend. God has brought me far from the lowly places I used to occupy, even though I had denied him.
I'm still trying to find healing, and if it weren't for knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me greatly, I don't know that I ever could. It's His love and Christ's sacrifice that gives me hope, that tells me that even I am loved and wanted, and can be saved.

I went through abuse starting at 5 and I realized my mother knew but was afraid to confront the girl’s mother! I started to rebel at 13 and it truly continued with all different kind of physical and sexual abuse with different men. I could just never find the ONE! I was beaten, raped, tortured. Then one night in 1985, I told my daddy that I was going to church with him. I’ve never seen him so happy. I heard a hymn and started walking down the aisle completely enveloped with the Holy Spirit. I was saved and baptized the same night. I knew I would die that night if I wasn’t baptized. It was not an easy journey at all but over the years it just gets easier and easier. My physical soul was finally healed. Never give up, honey. It is well worth the journey. God bless you. 🙏🏼

I have loved the music of Russ Taff from his days with the Imperials to his going out on his own. I had never heard his testimony - thanks for sharing. He is still one of my all-time favorite musicians and I still share his music on my personal FB page to this day. My favorite concert ever was him (and his band) playing at the Peacebrook Fesitival (outside) in High Point, NC in about 1985 (?).

Definitely check out his documentary I Still Believe (there's a movie by the same name on Jeremy Camp's life!).

John Hagee was blessed double - he knows the Bible and is quite funny!

But the mother has the support of Scripture: "...if you beat him with a rod, he will not die." NCV. Proverbs 23:13 If you don't have a rod handy, shoes, belts, razor straps and/or kicking feet will do. Or, are you saying the inerrancy of scripture belief is ill-founded? If you reply, please don't re-write the bible. Example, "Oh, what the bible reeeeeeallly says is to spank is okay."

@@allofus5The point is, that verse in the bible, that I quoted above, lends itself to people using that "scripture" to justify their demonic abuse of children. I know from personal experience, that that passage is a lie right out of hell. I have seen headlines in news sources over the decades telling of parents beating their children, male and female, to DEATH. Because God is just, as we all know, that passage should be gouged out of the bible AT ONCE.
