Joanne Hogg: A Xeno Fan's Tribute
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 сер 2024
- As part of the Xeno Series 25th Anniversary series, I made a Tribute compolation video of vocals for the Xeno Series done by the Northern Irish Christian singer, Joanne Hogg. Joanne Hogg’s voice means so much to me and other Xeno fans. But as far as I am aware, Jo has never been vocal in interviews on the Xeno series as she has never played the games before. Nor has she interacted with the fanbase. So, I compelled a few Xeno fans to have messages talking about her and the vocal legacy she sprouted with the series.
But most importantly, please enjoy this tribute video I have put together. Please watch all the way to the end as well. It would mean a lot to me!

The Xeno franchise has such a great vocal soundtrack identity. It leaves a mark on you which how much weight it conveys with the lyrics and instrumentation
HUGE shoutout to you, Luxqaer, to Joanne Hogg, and everyone involved with this. ♥️
Thanks for having me on! Fantastic tribute to Joanne Hogg.

It was at that moment, he knew, he fucked up
This game fxcked me up. NGL. It opened my brain tunnels to something more than just being human. The political/religious/psychological/commercial ideas, with the martial arts backing... fxcking beautiful. Along with the ost, anime shorts, and amazing cgi for its time. Nothing new beats this story-telling. It was a phantasm for its time. I still remember climbing the tower of shevat, and fighting Ramsus near the top, thinking this game couldnt get ANY cooler. And yet, it surpassed all of my expectations. Even at the end. What a beautiful and horrifying game. ❤
She's the GOAT, even after the years her voice is still as beautiful as ever
Future Awaits starting to play as i finish Future Redeemed will remain as one of my peak moments in gaming
Everything that needed to be good was perfect and she's even a fellow Christian, God Bless Joanne and may she remain giving us this gems of songs that became part of our lives
Awesome video, thank you so much for putting it together and for letting me contribute!

@@XenoLuxqaer Outstanding Work my Friend! 👏👏👏👍
great video !!
This is an amazing video, the songs are so good
HUUH! HAAH! BOOOOTY-HOPP!!!
The Stars of Tears MV is good enough to pass for what the supposed removed opening credits would've looked like.
Yeah, I don't like the original opening credits. It is so unfinished looking. Did you like the video though?

I need a moment to watch the other MVs fully, but I adore what I've seen. The editing choices made with Pain in particular are very impressive.
Are you thinking of the footage in the Stars of Tears MV in the game's data? That has an incredibly geeky explanation behind it that I won't go into here.
EDIT: Game them all a watch. They're all phenomenally good.
iam a fan of xeno series since 2005 when I met one guy and he showed me a cd Xenogears. i just want to know how Mitsuda got to know Joanne? how come he managed to find and collab with Jo. if anyone knows some articles throughout net pls report
At the time, the Xenogears development team wanted to have a Western signer contribute to the score where Mitsuda-san had a lot of trouble finding such an artist to match the vision of the game's music.

Mitsuda-san was really into Celtic/Northern Irish music in the 90s all to find inspiration. One of those bands was called is called IONA.
As rtg points out, Mitsuda first learned of Joanne when he listened to the IONA album "The Book of Kells" which Joanne's vocals for "Chi-Rho" having a big affect on him.

Hopefully these articles are helpful.
@@XenoLuxqaer thx for an effort
Fantastic video, but I'm curious why you include ingame audio in some spots.
Sorry it took me a while to answer your question. I feel like it adds to the atmosphere of the video and the visuals itself to include them.
@@XenoLuxqaer Agreed! Especially during Pain. So good!
